April Design Contest

This month’s theme is "Rock and Roll." Feel free to be as creative as you wish. Instruments are a welcome addition.

Must be original - not redesigned (from Playdom – it can be a photo from on line used as a reference.) CANNOT be a photo altered to fit the avi. This IS against the rules and is unfair to those who draw their designs from scratch.

This is a forum held contest and is not sponsored by Playdom. Winning designs will not appear in the game. Until further notice - this contest is just for fun and has no cash prizes only virtual prizes here on the forum. This way more people can "win."

There will be multiple winners. A 1st place winner, a runner up and an honorable mention for both rookie and veteran.

You do not have to sign up; simply send me your design for your entry. You can send in photos until midnight CDST May 1st, at which time they will be posted (on the 2nd) and voted on until May 16th. Winners will be posted on the 17th. The next months theme (June in this case) will be posted on the 1st of the month.

At no time is anyone allowed to use all or part of any design placed into this contest. Please respect others since they work hard on these designs. All items must be original, hand drawn and not an item from Playdom. If you use an avi from the avi thread please let the designer know in advance or make sure that they are given credit for make-up.

Submit the design with or without a background, but please DO NOT put your name on the photo. Use a different manner of water marking your photo if you desire to do so.

All entries are supposed to be anonymous. Although if you want to mention that you are submitting a design (or did so before now) it's okay. Please do not put your entry in your post. Please do not submit an unfinished design into your post either.

The people who visit the forum (usually designers) are judging the contest. Each person will chose their three top picks (unless there are only 3 of each – then you will vote for one.) The person with the most votes wins. If there are more than 10 entries received we will split them up into two (or more) categories and then the top three from each category will move forward to the next round of voting.

If it is found that a designer has made multiple accounts to vote for themselves multiple times then they WILL be BANNED…not only from the contest, but from the forum itself. It is against forum rules to have multiple accounts and if we find anyone even remotely suspicious we will report that person to the people who run the forum. This is a contest and it isn’t worth getting kicked off the forum. This contest is for having fun and becoming a better designer so you can win an actual Playdom contest in the future.

Whitney and Heather are both aware of the contest, but are not running it.

Please note that any design with inappropriate images or excessively bare body parts will NOT be posted for voting on. If you have any questions about images please refer to forum rules regarding images. Thank you.

More than one entry per person is welcome, but the limit is two (2) into the actual contest. (Unless I mess up like last month.) lol

Any previous design that has been posted in the forum will not be allowed to enter the contest. Please make sure you do not post it in your own thread. It will be disqualified if it has been posted. This is for fairness to the other designers.

If you design more you can submit them and I will decide which designs will be posted.

If any part or all of your design has been in your thread (in any color) it will be disqualified. If you are having issues with a part of your design you may ask someone for help. (One person.) You must give that person credit if they create a portion of your design. (ie: hair, shoes, pet, etc.) Or you can call it a group design.

If you design along with others in a group design you may still submit two (2) designs to the contest. This will be a fun addition. Your group designs do not count towards your design limit.

NEW: If we have 3 or more entries that are a group work then there will be a poll just for group designs.

It has been brought to my attention that there aren’t any rules stated as to the size of the design. If you need more space than 350 X 700 to show off the whole design on your avi feel free to do so. Please do not resize your avi. I will resize it if you send it in as a larger size. It is in all fairness to other designers that the avi bodies are all the same size.

New designers are welcome to participate. Your designs will be placed according to the level of your designing skill.

I was very excited that as soon as this post came out I started mine and i'm almost done with it.

From now on this thread will be adjusted at the 1st of each month so we don't lose it. I'm trying to make it easier on Sara who is nice enough to sicky and unsticky when asked.

OMG! I love this theme so much AND I'LL BE ABLE TO DO SOMETHING FOR IT!! OMG!! I got a new graphic card!! *does happy dance* I got a new graphic card!!

So ,here's what happened - I told my dad about computer overheating (which was making system fail at some point all the sudden) ,and I thought it might be cooler. So he opened computer and saw cooler on graphic card isn't working at all so it doesn't cool and that's why it gets so hot there. So he decided it's time to buy new graphic card since overheating could damage the rest of the pieces. So now my computer works perfectly fine like nothing ever happened. Stuff seem a little strange now though ,I'm not used to this.

Is the deadline wrong? I think it should have been "April 30th" instead of "March 30th" since March has 31 days and this has been posted on April 1st.
