I do feel bad for you guys but I don't blame them for not investing much time or money in a dying platform with no growth potential. Sad but true. Not saying to be mean, I'm really not.

If it is on Playdom's servers, then why can't we load up Playdom and play there instead of being redirected to a social media site (i.e., facebook, myspace, etc.)? Another company allows their players to move back and forth between facebook and their own private site to play so that way if they don't want to load up facebook and play there, they can go to the home site and play there and all the changes done from either location show up on both. It's their fail-safe in case facebook goes under for some reason.
So, why doesn't Playdom do this? I'd abandon myspace altogether if Playdom moved SL to their own private site, honestly. I only stay on myspace for SL and I can easily communicate with those from my house with other methods and messengers. So why not move us?

Are you actually playing on the private site or is it just another portal to the game like the social media site is? If you can't play without a Facebook account to log in to first; then you are still tethered and dependent upon Facebook to play the game.
I don't know why they haven't branched out on their own, but I'm sure advertising, and the fact that social networking sites are where the people are, plays a role.
But I can go play Gardens of Time without a facebook or myspace connection and that game has advertising, so why can't SL host the game like that?
And Christopher, can you please pass along the original message to someone in charge at Playdom? It really feels like the myspace players are being ignored and that's not right; we pay for BPs and VIP and have been around longer than the facebook players. We only want equality.

I really think it is unfortunate that Myspace players don't get the same opportunities that Facebook players get. I also didn't much care for myspace at all to get into it enough to even play games.
Having said that however, it would be in everyone's best interest IF PD could somehow manage their own servers and get off BOTH FB and Myspace. Both social networks seem to be really limited in what can be done, (hello, gifting limits for example) and do this in such a way that NO ONE loses their hard work, invested time, and more importantly, the MONEY they put into their game.
I hope someday that this will be a reality.
THIS I would totally love. As someone who is trying to prevent myself from getting to level 200 because of the mess up there, I for one would LOVE to see this happen because then MAYBE us in the middle won't have to worry about that mess. And plus, as much as I love you IC-ers, it gets a wee bit boring to go to you guys time after time to TD.

On the potential death of Mobsters: do they realise that once this games destroyed these people will soon move on to other hosted apps like sorority life etc?
I hope everyone at Playdom sees this -- facebook SL players supporting the idea behind myspace and facebook being equal in the game and being able to interact with each other (and attack, and slap, and burn, and house up ... ). We all really should be able to play together.
I've put quite a bit of money into this game because I love it. I started when it started (within a month, in fact) on myspace and didn't make the move to play it on facebook because I was already a level 65 by then and had tons of glam I was, and still am, not going to part with. SL is the only reason I still have a myspace.
I'm taking microeconomics at college (ugh, required course for my degree), and though it's not my forte, I've learned enough to know that the growth potential for profits is enticing enough that if I were running Playdom, and subsequently SL, I'd work night and day to find a way to merge the game so players on both social networks could be together; i.e., private platform.
Playdom, you have been getting complaint after complaint from the myspace player -- we submit tickets for glitches and problems that you ignore; same with this forum. I've yet to see any real action taken to level things up between facebook and myspace. There are easy fixes for most of the main differences:
Facebook gets feeds, myspace doesn't ... so, in order for a myspacer to get the same stuff, have a "professor raffle" style socializing event that spits out what they get. Simple!
Come on, Playdom ... work with us!
