You've brought up some great points here. Even though I'm obviously benefiting from the new fight list, I do agree it needs to be tweaked somewhat. Honestly, I believe it WILL be tweaked somewhat... which is part of why it's such a "feeding frenzy" now--lots of us figure this is only temporary.

But I quoted this one passage from your post to address the boarder issue. I don't know about what happened with the Tokyo chip glitch, but with the most recent casino glitch, the boarders people "bought" with those BPs from the last glitch were all stripped away from them.

As for me, I didn't benefit from the casino glitch in any way (glitchers who bought LE glam with the BPs got to keep the glam, not to mention the jackpot dresses with their good stats). I've won the jackpot lots of times, but I won through purchased (and sometimes earned through achievements) BPs. My boarders are almost maxed, but I either bought them or earned them through achievements on my main and all 9 minis. I have 665 boarders, but I earned over half of them by socializing on campus and the SAs.

After level 100, because the fight list (in the early days) was so thin, the only real way to improve my stats (which was my main goal) was to put all my skill points into defense, and keep myself out of the spa so that lower- and equal-level players could hit me. This has been a winning strategy for me for the last 100 levels. Until recently, the only time I really got pummeled was when one of those fast-rising players who can afford to buy hundreds of boarders would attack me constantly until they passed my level and they couldn't hit me anymore.

Now, with the Fight List change, I'm getting pummeled every time I step outside the spa. It's making me unable to stay out of the spa long enough to do philanthropy, complete my own major assignments, or do IMs, and it's totally screwing up my stats. And because I've built my main as a defender, I cannot retaliate by attacking those high-level fighters. And because I can't get out of the spa, it makes it even *harder* for me to rise in levels, which I would need to do in order to begin to compete with those players. I would have had no problem with this open-season-for-200+-players thing if it had been this way since the beginning, because then I could have adjusted my character build strategy accordingly. The problem is that by suddenly moving the goalposts for players who have been playing for a long time, SL has totally invalidated the reasonable, long-tested strategies of a large number of players, in order to appease a single demand among the privileged few at the top. I totally agree that something should be done to make the Fight List more plentiful for high-level players, but I think it sucks that they're doing so at the expense of second-tier players. It's also highly irritating that some of the most attack-happy high-level players got to their positions by taking advantage of SL's many casino glitches to massively increase their boarder counts for free. I've got about 300 boarders that I got fair and square; but I would need at least 500 boarders to be competitive with the people who are now constantly slamming me.

If SL doesn't want to put a "don't be a bully" limit on these high-level players, then maybe it can add a defensive bonus to players who are being attacked by higher-level players. Like a "David and Goliath" bonus, so that the defensive bonus of the person being attacked increases in proportion to the difference between the levels of the fighters. So if there are 2 levels between attacker and defender, the defender gets a bonus; 10 levels between them, an even bigger defensive bonus; and so on.
If you don't like this change, maybe you need to consider playing a Storm 8 game. But you need to look at the forums before trying to play one of these games. All Storm 8 games have a level cap though just like Sorority Life. Before Storm 8 lift the level cap from 200 to 300, the level 200s could attack level 150s. Any lower levels could attack anyone whose level is 3/4 of theirs (e.g. a level 100 can attack a level 75 but not a 74). After lifting the level cap, the level 200s found their levels jumped and receiving their skill points, but the attack limit remained unchanged and they could still attack level 150. You would imagine the complaints from the level 150+s because they are being attacked by all the higher levels. Maybe you can try playing one of these games and level to 150, or even 200, and see how crazy you are attacked. However, Storm 8 games do not have a 500-member limit for fighting. One can have 2000 members, but they can only fight with 5 times of their level even though they are over level 100. So a level 101 can fight with 505, a level 102 can fight with 510, a level 200 can fight with 1000 and a level 300 can fight with 1500. In my case I am level 135 I would be able to fight with 675, but in Sorority Life I cannot unless I have 175 boarders which need to be purchased or obtained from event masteries using different characters. So in SL if there is a 500-member limit (excluding boarders) in fighting there is no point in having an achievement for getting 1000 house members.

Of course, Playdom should know how scare the high level player pool. If the pool is too scare they should be allowed to attack each other.

You realize that because of this change, I can't do any Philanthropy because anytime I get any Confidence points, I'm serially attacked.

Some of us enjoy the game without the fighting - we love the fashions.

I'm one of those players that became a VIP when it was first offered and now I have to seriously consider quitting the game because you left me with no options.

If players 40 levels above me can attack, then what's the use of playing?

I'm with you. I'm at level 204 and I'm getting killed with my defender character.

I have no incentive to do anything right now and as someone who's played daily since 2007, I'm seriously considering quitting the game.

    It's no longer any fun.

I am level 182 aand like you have built my character as a defender. I will get killed when I pass level 200 so my plan is to make that take a long time. Maybe I will start TDing myself to stay low. Never would I have thought that I would do that with my main. I have been playing for over 2 years and did not plan my strategy for this

I am thinking the same, with this change I don't want to level up to 200, even I was really looking forward to, I just don't stand a chance against some players, my main is really weak as I used most of my skill points on energy trying to make a socilaizer.

There is a bright spot to all this.

I won't have to spend any additional money other than for the VIP.

Why? Because buying extra glam and buying extra borders won't make a difference anymore. I'll still get creamed in any fight with a level 40+ above mine.

So thank you, Playdom. I won't be spending as much money anymore.

Thanks -- it's good to know that those boarders were stripped. I didn't know that. I do know that once the glitch happened, I saw people whom I could beat before suddenly take huge jumps in boarder counts.

By the way, I did not mean to insinuate that it is not possible to get 500+ boarders without cheating. I collect boarders with my minis as well. In fact, I've collected about the same number of boarders as you have (around 300) through SAs and socializing. But it's pretty much guaranteed that players who have 500+ boarders have spent some serious cash on BPs. More power to them, I've got no problem with that. I buy BPs too -- just not in the quantities required to be competitive with the top attackers. The problem is that now SL has made these big-spending players able to absolutely pummel players who are long-term, dedicated, strategic players, but who simply can't afford that kind of cash. Again, I have no problem contending with the occasional beat-downs of a big-spending, fast-climbing attacker, so long as it's a temporary problem. But by lifting the bully cap, it's now a permanent problem for me and everyone else over level 200. And keep in mind, a Level 215 or 250 with a 1000+ house size can pummel me with impunity, but *I* can't pummel someone who is just 5 levels below me because *I* am limited by the bully cap! So basically my stats can be ruined by anyone above me, and I can't recover my stats by attacking someone much below me. It's absurd.

This is pretty much how I feel as well. By having an insufficient fight list at higher levels, they made it almost impossible to attack. Now, with this change, they've made it almost impossible for me to defend. Sigh.

If I were below Level 200 I would do the same thing. If only I'd known earlier!
