What should be a neat game is becoming a real pain and very boring. Machetes have to be more easily available. I have so many old, unfinished quests because I don't have machetes and they take forever to forge. It is very discouraging and frustrating.

I agree I am at level 27... cannot complete several questd because 1) I have no machetes, 2) One of the quests is for me to build a building that I cannot even buy in the market becuase it is locked. I spend all of my time clearing and clearing the forest floor! I think I may look for a game that is easier to progress through. I WILL NOT spend my money to buy machete's. I cannot afford it.

I agree, i go into the game a few times a day and try to get into different things, but the machete's are a killer. EVERYTHING needs them and you get no where so much of the time that you use them. They are gone in no time and you just get another patch of land. I still haven't been able to find the mouse or the racoon and am still looking for a petrified mushroom and now paving stones. I have so much to look for and nothing to look with. Sometimes I want to forget it all, but then I still think maybe this time I'll get somewhere. Its one thing to work for the quests, and another to just have nothing come out of it.

The idea is to water your plants which gives you food to speed up the forge. Thus I don't mind these watermelon, pumpkin, bak choy, kumquat quests because I would be doing them anyway to get food. Every 2 days I get enough food to speed up the forge and make me 5 machetes. I really don't think it's that bad at all.

Way too long between machetes! We should be able to buy them with silver or something... And how do you get the forge to make 5 machetes??? Mine only make one and takes two days!

Welp. I have now been playing for 2 weeks, and I am here to tell Playdom and Disney (if they're listening) is that the reason I have now removed their app is because every single new quest that comes up seems to require exploring with machetes--and I don't have any machetes. I have the forge going, yes. Every 2 days I get one machete. Big whoop. I have used the initial gold that was given to me to buy two packs of machetes, which hasn't seemed to advance me. Each quest that comes up requires yet more exploring.

So, Playdom and Disney, in case you're sitting there wondering why your game isn't turning into the next big game--it's because you've made it too hard to play. Your expectation that we are going to use real-world money to buy machetes is off-base. We're not.

Not every level gives you machetes either. Thanks for the input Goshawk55, I'm sure the team is aware of the hard to come by machetes. =/

The way to get the forge to work for you like this is to use food to speed it up. You could make more machetes if you used that helper and your others to always be harvesting good food crops/bushes anytime you aren't actively playing the game instead of having one helper forge for 2 days. Figure up the cost of speeding up the forge and then find a crop or bush that will work for your playing schedule. Then harvest until you get the amount you need and speed up the forge. Do that over and over and it's free machetes. You'll also get the added bonus of the xp & silver from those crops/bushes

Please explain exactly how you get enough food to get 5 machetes every two days.

I agree with you completely. They give you a lot of machetes at first so that you get into the game, then they expect to spend real money to continue. Ain't gonna happen! Unfortunately they are a lot people out there who will. So don't expect any games to change.
