I really don't think that blaming other players is the right way to go here. It's everyone's choice to make if they want to pay or not. After all, players willing to pay aren't the real problem here.
And no, the 0.02% drop rate certainly does NOT inspire me to spend my money on BPs. I haven't in months and won't until (hahaha) the fundamental core customer service problems are fixed. The sad thing is that if Playdom LISTENED to our (their CUSTOMERS') complaints and actually resolved the issues in a timely manner we would be happily buying BPs much more often. Happy customers = thriving businesses. Such a simple equation, but evidently a difficult concept for Playdom to take to heart.

I completed Beautify the Beach and Paint A Mural numerous times on both characters and still nothing can be done, yet putting out new things on SL is suppose to help us how?
