There has always been some confusion, for some, as to what constitutes "Limited Items". Also, whenever a new "Limited Item" is released, there tends to be a number of new threads. So I hope this guide can become a sticky and can be used for all future posts when new items are released.


Definition

The term limited item means that the item is limited in terms of numbers available. When released, the item has a set quantity shown and will remain "on sale" until the total stock has been sold.




When the all of the released items have been sold, then the item will show "Sold Out" by the side of it. If you have not purchased the item, it will no longer be shown on your page.



Certain items that are not purchasable in normal gameplay such as the Lamborghini Murcielago, or items offered as a reward for completing a mission such as the Tank, or finally items that are achieved through reaching a standard on another application seem to confuse the issue.

Most of these allow you to sell the item, for example the Roll Royce.


However the recent addition of the GT Ford, achieved by reaching level 10 on Overdrive, and the fact that it can not be sold has confused the issue more.

But as you can see, there is neither a "Quantity on Offer" or a "Sold Out". This is because they are limited by factors other than quantity.

Apart from the red "Sold Out" or the "Quantity on Offer", the main thing about "Limited Items" is that they were ORIGINALLY only purchasable by Godfather points.


History

The first item to be released was the Brass Knuckles. It was quite a rare event for a new limited item to be released, and there was quite a gap to the next item. In December the first Gala "mission" was introduced that offered people the chance of obtaining "Limited Items" that had previously been sold out. There have been subsequent galas, and no doubt they will become regular events.

Since Janaury, the frequency of the release of "Limited Items" has increased, and we are seeing a new item released each week. They tend to be a day or so after the last item has sold out. This normally occurs Friday or Saturday.

Also around January/ February the Godfather introduced a host of new achievements. This included one for the collection of limited items. This has been discussed elsewhere, so I will not include in this guide.

Purchasing/ Obtaining Limited Items

The most common way to obtain a "Limited Item" is via Godfather Points. They usually sell for between 16 & 22 Godfather Points. When a new item is released, it will be shown as a featured item accross all three tabs in the equipment section, and also shown in the relevant section within Equipment.



As mentioned, the other way of obtaining "Limited Items" is at the Galas. However this is not guaranteed and you can not be sure what item, or how many of them, you will recieve.
