Default [IN DEPTH GUIDE] Tips for Lower Lvls

    Hi all,

I'm creating this guide to help everyone because playdumb has created a game that makes people feel that they need help with this game.

I'm currently lvl 88 with a pvp rating of 1288. I may not be the best player out there and am a free gold player, but I am willing to give tips.

Your first 90 char. buy should be between two people CAPTAIN AMERICA or SPIDEY. Cap A has great skillset (credit goes to Namikaze116 in the post below) which makes him do whatever you want. He is better suited for pvp esp. when u unlock his WWII suit. Spiderman on the other hand UNLOCKS epic boss 3-5 (doombringer) and 7-3 (goblin glider, which is a GREAT WEAPON that is USEFUL throughout all game) and premium 3-6 (which the reward for GSE is great esp. if you're lower level).

The choice is yours whether you want better weapons (Pick spiderman) or a great hero (Cap A).

Often times there are opportunities to earn free gold. On the screen to buy gold, click earn gold and go to the category of free. Most of the time, there are surveys which take a while but hey you get gold.

You could always abort a mission after getting the roulette if you don't want the mission to get harder and would rather have a breeze in trying farm weapons. ONLY DRAWBACK are not GETTING THE 5 CP mastery, the chapter reward, or the lack of exp. It also makes me feel better about myself knowing that I got a weapon and I just 3 starred it (even though I've done the mission 20 times already).

If you want to get command points, do mission 1-1. Only need 3 hours of energy and you are able to go to the roulette for a chance of 1, 3, or 5 CP. Later on you can go to 7-3 for better rewards.

Don't bother researching Isos. Only research them when you are level 65 and have unlocked the shards. There's no research requirement for the shards if i remember correctly.

PLAN when you are about to level up, so you don't waste energy that you could have used to do one more fight.

Don't be discouraged when doing PVP. Many times I do PVP just to challenge myself and see what others have to make my team even stronger against the AI. If I lose, I try to see what makes their team so strong and analyze why I lost. It could be because they got a good weapon or a hero that you don't have (meaning you get that hero next too). True, it's not fun if you see people have RIDICULOUS drops (like 40 MM) or gold items (36 QJs) in the armory but know that PVP rating doesn't matter, you're just making sure that you have a strong team around your level. I feel that doing PVP makes you realize that whether you have a good team for your level. Plus, you could get drops that you can sell later on.

Finally, the MOST IMPORTANT RULE OF THEM ALL, ALWAYS READ THE FORUMS. The forums always give good advice and would show you other stuff. I see so many people complain/post on the forums that they could not have gotten emma frost because they didn't have Colossus, SW, or PH when the guide was posted (on the forums) in the beginning of Spec Ops 2 saying you needed those characters. CP drops is one thing, but not knowing the requirement is even stupider.

Thanks for reading all these tips.

Veterans feel free to post others that I might have forgotten to mention.

    Just a few things:
    • Cap himself isn't OP,his WWII suit is OP,but it's because of his skill-set he is the perfect all rounder (defensive, offensive and supportive capabilities) which is the reason why it is widely suggested that he is to be the 1st 90 CP purchase.
    • Mission 4.4 is a much better farming spot than mission 1.1 once you have Storm since it only requires 70 energy and you have a chance at two roulettes;a regular roulette which consists of CP drops in quantities of 1,3 & 5 and an Epic Boss roulette which may grant you an Epic Boss drop (MFG;Magnetic Field Generator) and CP quantities of 3,5 & 10.It is also very manageable once 5-starred and is great for exp as well.
    • What you said about iso research is partially correct.Don't research until you're at level 65 but if you wish to buy rank III chaotic isos you have to research all isos.

Great initiative with this thread btw.

For any who aren't aware of the presence of Epic Bosses in the game, this thread should shed some light on that:http://forum.playdom.com/showthread....ic-Bosses-List.

Although Namikaze is correct that you have to research lower level Isos in before the third and last level is unlocked, I would like to point out that the third level is unlocked at level 60, not 65. And you don't have to research all lower level Isos, just getting the basic blue, red and yellow ones will unlock the higher levels.

Yes that is what I meant to say Sakyo. Sorry for being unclear. That is definitely something I wished I knew earlier.

Well, Namikaze I agree that 4-4 is a potential better farming place than 1-1 or 7-3, but you have to consider if people will get Storm at early levels while 1-1 and 7-3 don't require any specific heroes at all. When I did 4-4, i was saving up for storm to get it.

4-4 is a better place to farm items (which maybe I should have mentioned), while 1-1 or 7-3 is better suited to farm command points because you don't have to go through all the dangers, and I think most people can agree saying that command points are more important than most items.

Ofc, the potential 15CP/7 runs > 5 CP/3 runs, but who has that great of luck.

Any other vets would like to wish to impart knowledge or stuff they wished they knew for others.

Don't use gold for anything other then CP. At the start I was dumb enough to use gold for S.H.E.I.L.D. Points...

I saved my gold for the Generalist Commander Trench and filled it with Refined Chaotic ISO8 Shards (5 gold each)... now that the Refined Chaotic ISO8 Crystal (5 gold each) is available at lvl 100 I think it would have been better to fill my trench with dropped shards and save the gold for the crystals... same gold and a better result for long time players...

Also I don't think it is wise to spend gold on items for the PVP bonus or extra weapons. I have picked up great weapons from regular game play and as your Agent reaches higher levels you will need stronger weapons than those you bought.

Keep an eye on your Tasks identified by the round icons on the left hand side of the screen. If you need to use a character 4 times why not jump into PVP and get it out of the way... it is a great way to level up your Agent.

Here are my tips for the lower levels….Level 30 and below. Hopefully helpful to newbies.
I am a free gold player myself, so found myself deciding to buy more cheaper heroes than save up for Spidey or Cap.
    1. Don’t buy SHIELD points. You’ll be able harvest enough from visiting friends or getting gifts. If you give SHIELD points, you will usually get them back.
Early on I spent gold on heroes and and upgraded Agent uniforms…those extra ISO slots are so helpful. I bought a Generalist and Tactician (DermoSteel). Tactician has been the most useful, because so many missions and PVP’s early on have blaster opponents and you can always get two turns against blasters.

    2. Heroes:
Black Widow: weak at start, but get her up to level 6 to get here Kick attack and you can debuff an angry Hulk. So don't give up on her.
Colossus: Very weak attack, don’t buy -- until later. People usually use him as a shield, but that’s not fun.
Heroes with strong attacks from the get go are Cyclops, Ms. Marvel, She Hulk, Iron Fist, and Sif. I start out ISO-8’ing them with health, stamina and accuracy first so their strong attacks have more of a chance at landing. For heroes with better defense and low evasion, I work on adding to their defense, because it takes too much bling to raise a super low stat. For Sif, I upped her defense, because even if she’s a lousy dodger, I could help her better take more hits. For Iron Fist I upped his Evasion(though defense is a much more important stat than evasion most of the time…at higher levels his evasion is losing out to more accurate heroes. He’s no Spidey. But at low levels it helped). The strategy: when you have limited resources, focus on your strengths (especially offensive ones) first.

    3. Weapons: Sif. Some folks don’t like Sif because she causes bleed and none of the cheap heroes can capitalize on that. But the agent sure can with the Katana. The Katana is a cheap weapon, but I’ve used it a lot b/c of its high crit percentage. So it is a great combo with Sif.
Another cheap weapon you should have is the Pyro Tonfa. I love the potential counter attack feature and when used with Iron Man, you can cause lots of burning damage.

    4. ISO-8’s or research more gear? When slots started opening in my heroes I put more priority in researching the ISO’s, b/c my heroes are generally stronger than my agent. I wanted them to be optimized. The agent gear at the lower end are pretty weak compared to our heroes. So instead of investing in gear, I ISO’d up my heroes and my agent (even if the agent has weak weapons, you want him/her to hang around long as possible).

This isn’t too complete. I’ll add more when I have time…

MAA is a game of PATIENCE.

You need to know that everything is not going to fall along your way. You won't get 5 CPs, epic weapon drops, weapon drops, every time you roulette. Many times you'll get grenades, health packs, and bunch of useless stuff that you will eventually sell later on.

Endure the trials you will face and be patient with the boss drops. In the end, your hard work will prevail and you will eventually get the items or heroes you want.

Don't underestimate other heroes. ALL Heroes are useful. Some are stronger than others. Some are better for flight deploys. However, each hero has its strengths and weaknesses and remember, that a more expensive hero does not necessarily mean that it is stronger than a cheaper hero. Some heroes need alternate outfits to be stronger.

IMO, researching weapons is not that good because eventually, you will get a weapon from the deploys that can be useful to you. All the weapons I use right now are from deploys that I have been lucky from.

how about a redirect for the in-game free stuff.

Researching weapons is a big plus if you do flight ops continuously. I use Tyrant Blade because it's useful.

Also for low level the GSE would be the best investment in Energy and time.
