Because everyone must succeed at everything on their first try or it's not worth doing at all.
This game is massive and looking for the erroneous piece(s) of code isn't exactly easy. It could be new code from Spec Ops 2 that's causing it, or old code disagreeing with new code - and even then there's the problem of fixing it, which could be tricky if it's an important piece of code, or if it only activates in certain circumstances (which it seems to be down to), which means you have to test all the different solutions before you can send out the patch . . .
SO2's been out for a week. Give them time.

My luck I don't have any business with Omega Sentinel anymore.

Apparently, Playdom never heard of pre-release playtesting or stress testing or internal software QA process.
More than enough time has been given (months) to fix this error. They have blamed everything (browser cache, hacking, internet connection, firefox add-ons, IE comaptibility view, Flash), but themselves, then they finally admitted that it was mostly PD server issues, which caused them to limit gifts per day.

To be honest, the rushed schedule the new content seems to have taken on might well be down to the fact that we keep demanding new content. Chapter 8 was perfectly fine upon release, as I recall - no major glitches, no major bugs or anything - but once we breezed through that, I think we might have asked for something new a little too soon, and Playdom rushed the product in an over-eager attempt to satisfy us after the CP issue. Now they're running around trying to fix it. So what do they do? Do they recall the SO, halting it until it's fixed? I can't see that going down well - I can already imagine the people lining up to either complain about it since they were just about to get Emma, or crowing happily that it's proof PD doesn't test the new content. So if they can't stall the SO, their only option is to fix it while it's still running, which I imagine is what they're scrambling to do now - and all of this while they develop and play-test the new heroes, conceive Chapter 9, the third Spec Ops . . . I can't imagine it has a massive development or maintenance team, so I'm willing to forgive them a few CVEs, especially since they'll likely apologize and give us free Iso to make up for it - just like they did in SO1. I agree it's frustrating, but all we can do is send off support tickets, try to identify what the causes of the glitches are and minimize the fallout.

That was what they said on the FIRST SO. I was able to give them the benefit of the doubt because it was the first time they did that. So they learned from that mistake by making the same mistake? Releasing another SO half baked?
Frustrating? Lets just say a lot of folks are ticked off (I can't put it more strongly, might be given an infraction) at PD Support, given the past 3-4 weeks worth of posts in the Rants thread and the Bugs section.

Instability on the players end. I get this error too when the server is during high traffic.

Items such as MFG and the Rook, etc. have nothing to do with or is not the cause. I notice this happens when the connection becomes over-heated and causes the pop-up.

I usually refresh as quick as possible but my Unstable Iso's still get counted for and I have to start the mission all over again. Happened to me when I battled Omega.

So yeah, in summary, this happens when the connection becomes overwhelmed causing an error to pop. I noticed this only happens for Spec Ops too. They may have to update some servers or something to maintain connection between the player and their server.

Another SO which is fundamentally different from the first one, with different bosses, different weapons and different mechanics. This SO was clearly better planned out than the first, given the difficulty, task structure and ability to complete it at your own pace. If I were to be harsh, I'd say that SO2 is much better than SO1 in planning, slightly worse in execution. They're experimenting, which I think is always something hard and something we need to support them in.
I also agree that the support team needs work, especially given the activities of 'robot' Craig, but I would prefer they fix the source of the problem rather than the symptoms, going around giving people their missing Iso in individual links like they did with the rollback CP. But to put things into perspective - the SO is a quarter done and most people are, what, at 16/25, 23/25, even finished? In the long term, 40 Isos is not going to kill you, especially since, as I said, they'll likely recompense us all for technical trouble. Calm is the word. By all means expunge your frustration in the rant thread, but I genuinely believe we need to give Playdom the benefit of the doubt here.

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME, but happened 3 times in a row, I advise you NOT to equip any of the new spec ops weapons, they are unstable. I lost 60 iso-8 due to the refresh msg.
