80% of people who can afford to buy gold are americans..too many country and people can't afford to waste some money...too much....

When you reach level 2 and 3 to 5 I think you gain gold because that's what happened to me and my friend, after level 5 you stop getting gold by leveling up

Never got any gold levelling up either. Started with 30 and that was that. When I read that Playdom post, I wanted to comment. But when I registerred, I saw the comment box was closed on the subject. Odd...
Though I also think that a more properly explained complaint will get you further than calling Playdom liars.
Have been playing AoM for a while and, overall I like the game. It is only logical that the developers need to make money off of the effort and work they put into developing and maintaining this game for us to enjoy. Occasionally I have bought items for the game as well and never had any problem buying gold.
However, I agree that the way they try to make money off of the game is not right.

First off: the gold is too expensive!
For 240 gold for instance, I wanted to buy more advanced troops, like a Warrior or Sentry camp. I have noticed that when I try to do Skirmishes (or Skrimmages?), I get blown away by the bought troops of my adversaries. Let alone go to the battle Arena. Do not stand a chance with my army of regular troops, therefore this game mode is, unfortunately, currently not playable for me.
If I go to a store and buy a game, I find around 50 euros a reasonable price for it. For upgrades I would be willing to pay up to 20 euros, if it is a good game. The hours of gaming u get out of it are worth the money.
If anyone were to stand a chance in the Arena, they would have to get at least 700 gold for troops. That being around 50 euros, would be okay. But I just know producing them is going to cost as well. The fact that I can't see what it would cost me, I find troubling enough to not buy these items.
(I can't even find any reviews of it that state how much producing special troops cost!)
Not being able to play all aspects of the game, has already frequently gotten me bored with it and now I usually just send all the gifts and do 'maintenance' on my field.

But just buying the camp will cost around 16 euros, let alone making the actual troops. There is no way of seeing what producing the actual troops costs; if that takes a lot of tools and Large Emeralds or up, you will have to buy additional items to be able to make use of your purchase.
For example: I have an Elven army and have bought Human troop camps, but I can barely use them because it costs too much to produce. I am not going to pay for something I might not be able to use.
And spending at east 25 euros only to get troops smashed away in a few battles is not something that would keep me playing this game for long.

However, what I find the most troubling, is that they try to get people to do 'surveys' in order to 'earn' gold.
Have not done this, but when I researched it on the Internet, I found that people that have, have gotten very little gold, but a lot of spam in their email, bills for subscriptions they did not know they had ( I am pretty sure that the costs of which ARE shown to these people, but for some reason people still complete these surveys) and are very hard to resign from.
If this is true, I can not understand why developers would do business with these shady survey-companies, let alone link their customers to such websites.
It is too easy for younger players to sign up for these surveys and subscriptions, underestimating the consequences of their actions.

Another example: sometimes, when you go from your 'world map' tab back to your own town, you will get a merchant offering you troops and spells for gold. A lot of gold. It is always 3 diffent kinds of troops or spells, no more than 15 per kind, usually around 5.
Let's say, 15 Crossbowman, 10 Sharpshooters and 5 Wizards. On 'offer' from 210 for 149 gold. That is 10 euros, people!
In the beginning sometimes things were offered to me for Silver, which I liked, but haven't seen that in months.
If you lose one heavy battle, it's gone in 5 minutes, literally! When you have spent 10 euros, that is just rediculous.
And Very expensive for a few virtual puppets.
The Merchant's dice is a joke in it's own right. Do not waste any credits on that.
And the amount of allies you must have to expand is rediculous.
Also, of most items you can only hold 10, which means you can barely upgrade anything. Unless you pay, of course...

It would really benefit people's fun in playing the game, if the items would be available for less gold, gold could be earned playing the game and certain offers could be bought with Silver. Face it: most people can not afford to thoughtlessly pump money in to a game, which is exactly what this game is currently requiring players to do in order to stand a chance of winning against rivals.
I really hope they do something about the crappy 'earning gold for surveys', and about the costs, in order to keep the game accessable for people with more modest game funds.

your post was too long for me to read entirely but from what i got while skimming this should hopefully answer you questions

1. for units like sorcerercs or sentries etc once you buy the building for gold you can produce unlimited amounts of troops for just silver and popultion

2. survey to earn gold i earn about 60-100 gold a week doing one survey a day and my spam folder takes care of any spam i guess since i havent seen any of it.

3. Gold is how playdom makes money to pay for the servers and maintenance and everything that makes that game run. They will never offer any of the gold or high level troops for silver.

4. You dont need gold troops to win in this game its a simple fact I was able to rack up 150 arena wins before i recieved enough gold from surveys to buy my sorcerers. Yeah it is tougher but its not impossible to win.
