    Lightbulb Lantern Oil and Gold

    Hello,

I would like to make a suggestion for Disney's Ghost of Mistwood. I like the game but once you run out of Lantern Oil and don't have any Gold, it's no fun. There should be a way while you are playing to "EARN" Lantern Oil and Gold instead of spending real money to buy some. You should be able to earn at least 2 lantern oils every 3 minutes (something like that). You should be able to get at least 1 gold for crafting something, etc. Earning these 2 items would make the game a lot better. If you had children playing this, they wouldn't have the money to buy items and wouldn't play it anymore.

    Hi NM!
When you run out of Lantern Oil to explore the fog and you don't want to spend real money to buy more, you can craft either large batches (3) or small batches (1) in your Workhouse. The large batch takes 6 hours 10 minutes plus supplies. And the small batch takes 2 hours 40 minutes plus supplies.

Be sure to have the maximum number of work houses and medicine wagons. Craft/grow the ingredients needed to craft the large batches of oil while you play, then set the game up to craft the oil while you are away at school/work/bed. When you come back, you'll have several oil waiting for you to explore. I am allowed 3 work houses and 2 medicine wagons, so I have 9 oil waiting for me when I log in. With my schedule, I can do this 2x each day, for 18 oil.

My strategy is to wait on accepting gifts so that my stardust is low enough that I have to "ask" friends before I start crafting each time. I send out a couple of requests- rapid fire, THEN accept only enough stardust to complete my task at hand. That way I can always send out request(s), then accept what I need from my stash of stardust gifts without having to wait for my friends to respond to my requests. It helps to have tons of friends from the Facebook player groups who play daily.

I also have a field of crops (sage & thyme) that I have watered by not collected. I harvest these after I've cleared debris. I can start my work houses going then, replant and water my field using whatever helpers I have available. That helps with having enough ingredients on hand.

I feel that it is a lot of work making lantern oil for only 3 lanterns and the worst is when I search the fog I use 2 of them or even the three and sometimes I found one thing and sometimes I don´t found any waisting all my lanterns. It should be guaranteed that you find something with only one lantern.

    Cool oil lamps.

I feel like the quests you go on to use them should award you them in the end, like in the first few when you start playing.

Just a question, I started playing this game about a week ago... And i notice that my lantern would refill after a while and I would get 3 to 4 new one. I haven't played since 6pm yesterday and I haven't had any refills. Is this part of the game or is it a bug?

    Hi Rosa!
In the beginning of the game, you are awarded lanterns for completing certain actions. Once you have the ability to craft oil on your own, the game cuts back on the lanterns it awards.

Thank you Batty, I was afraid that may have been the case.

Alright I can see maybe not finding something on the one, that would make it too easy. However at least ever 2 or 3 find something. Especially with how long it takes to make the lamp oil and how few you get for the time involved. The lamp oil gig is the only real issue I've found. Just about every quest I have that is waiting is something I need lamp oil for like the camp area. If I get 2 or 3 lamp oils I'll one or 2 in the main area, then use the last one in the camp around. Guy in the fetal position is gonna stay there a while longer at this point.
Only other issue noticed is you have to scroll through ALL of your friends to try to remember which ones play games and which ones don't. I have some friends that are very strong in their beliefs that they do not want game requests. If anyone has a lot of friends it can take a while to send out requests to those who play. I actually had to set up a side list so I didn't send to the wrong person.

    Hi Lorvet!
I spelled out some strategies for crafting lantern oil earlier in the thread. As for the requests, I take note of who I just received requests from (in the last hour or so) and only send requests to them. Most of them will still be playing and I don't have to wait long for my staffing requests to be accepted.

I agree that the game should replace lantern oil.. maybe every half hour- hour, it could replenish one lantern oil, etc.. I do craft my own lantern oil, but it takes a long time and because of that I've been at a stand still most of the game. =(
