Combining posts/threads

It would be nice if we didn't have a dozen threads started about every topic. For one example, we have so many Summer Fun threads started and most are double posting their complaints/issues to each one. Its making reading the forum quite annoying. I think our issues would be more closely followed if people would post in existing threads instead of starting one for each new issue.
Can the mods combine some of these and when new posters start a new thread when it clearly belongs to an existing one, please merge them?
I know that used to be the norm in the old forum.

Yes the old forum was much more organised and I preferred that.
