Blackwood & Bell recently released a new type of challenge, a limited-time chapter call the San Francisco Training Mission. While the scenes and quests are only available for a limited time, you keep any of the buildings or items you unlock during the challenge.
The challenge ends May 21st, 2012, but it is a good idea to get started now!

The three scenes for this chapter are:
- Barbary Coast
- Chinatown
- Painted Ladies

Gems!
Each chapter will have its signature gem. For San Francisco, the gem will be Garnets. You will see them called SF Garnets in game.
You can find Garnets randomly while playing scenes, and you can also post to your wall to ask your friends for garnets. You can be helped 6 times each day, and earn 2 crystals each time. Make sure to write a comment when you post to your wall, and tell your friends to click the thank-you link for silver to make sure you receive your Garnets.

You may also purchase Garnets by opening your Adventures tab and clicking the + icon next to your gems.
Visit the Knowledge Base for details and pictures of these menus: http://playdom.zendesk.com/entries/21371352

Building Materials
You can only hold 10 of any kind of building material, and this also holds true for the building materials you will need for this chapter. The three building materials you can request are: Velvet, Chinese Signs and Stained Glass. Gold Nuggets are a material that you can purchase with silver.

SF Garnets are used to construct buildings, but they are a little different in that you can hold up to 350 Garnets in your inventory at one time. They will only be used in this chapter, so you don’t need to save them.

Clues!
The Clue Collection for this chapter rewards a Cable Car.
To collect the cable car, you will need to find the clues for each scene:
- Barbary Coast > Poker Chip
- Chinatown > Playing Cards
- Painted Ladies > California Flags

If you are not very familiar with clue collections in Blckwood and Bell, how they work is this:
You will be asked to find different clues each time you play a scene, only one of these clues is the special clue for the collection. If you are not asked to find the special clue needed for that scene, you will need to play again until you find it. Each scene only has one special clue, but you may need multiples of that clue for the collection. For example, you may need to find a few Poker Chips in the Barbary Coast scene. If you are having trouble, ask your friends for help by adding the clue you need to your wishlist. If you have extras, be nice to your friends and see what you can give to help them out.

The forums are a great place to ask questions about quests and scenes, and share strategies for improving scores, and even sharing how you decorate your Yard with the new items.
