    Default Curious abt rearranging garden..

My garden is ugly!! Need to have to many high level rep to keep going and we all know how fast the upgrading has become. So, in the meantime, I was just curious if anyone has completely emptied their garden and started over? I would like to have a spot to pull out all the high level things and put them away when not needed and then try to make my garden pretty again! It would probably take days, but then again, that is pretty much how long we wait to increase the rep! lol!! What does anyone think?

I think there are many people who put in the effort to have a pretty garden most of the time, but pull out the high rep items as soon as a new chapter is released. Since they seem to be releasing regular reputation chapters every other week, you should have some time to design and enjoy your pretty garden before you need to junk it up again with the high rep items. Check out the show us your garden thread near the top of this section of the forum.

I've done it at least twice It really doesn't take as long as you would think. When you're in build mode click on the store button -- then everything you click on goes into storage ( that really helps, I emptied my garden once before we had that button and it took like 3 clicks to put an item in storage.) Then just start putting things back -- high rep stuff first -- and make a path by the entrance so you get visitors.

I always have a nicely designed garden which I tear down to put out my high rep stuff to open new chapters and then redesign. However, designing the garden is my favorite part of the game so I don't mind doing that. It usually takes a couple of days to redesign. I could probably do it faster but the new buildings always take a couple day anyway so I don't rush it.

I empty out once every 5 or 6 weeks. Then I stuff with nothing but my highest rep items, every square filled, to get max rep. Then I let it sit for a couple of hours and refresh several times. Now the servers remember that number as my highest rep. Then I empty again and start building. Usually I can get enough rep to open the next couple of regular chapters. Then I can play again with making it pretty. Don't be alarmed when your rep goes down as you pull the mess out. If you have let the servers have a little while and the couple of refreshes, they remember what the highest was. Good idea to write down the highest rep when you do it, so you can kind of keep track of when you'll need to do it again....When stuffing the garden, remember to stuff with the highest rep, PER SQUARE. 2 - 1600 one square items are worth more than 1 - 2200 two square item by a 1000 rep.

Just wanted to note that sircarol has the wonderful highest reputation BUG. This is not the norm for everyone. For those of us without the bug scenes will only open if there is enough reputation currently in your garden. The game does NOT remember your highest reputation when new scenes are released. Of course it is worth trying the method just in case you also have this benefit, but don't report it as a bug if the game doesn't remember your highest rep.

I have a lot of water and flowers in my garden. I take out the water and replace it with my high rep items when I need to rep up.

I have been upgrading the decoration and though it is a slow process i have realized that even the couple of hundred rp you get going from level 1 to 2 starts to add up.

Every so often I take everything out and start again. I start by placing the items or wonders that are the largest in the area where I want them to end up. Usually I want to add a couple of more areas than the garden can fit so I have to edit.

Also a tip to help with the frustration of trying to edit a full garden. It can be awful putting an item into inventory and then taking a million clicks to find it and put it back. A way I avoid the hunt is that when I am editing is to put away the nearest wonder and use that space to flip other items and move them around. It gives me a little room and wonders are easy to find and put back.

Another help is to get graph paper and write down the reps for everything and redesign your garden that way before you ever start pulling. That's what I'm doing so that I can make maximum use of the space and not have to pull items out just to open scenes. I'm at the point that in another 22 thousand xp's I'll be at level 100 so the reps needed to open at at their peak. I want my garden to be the best it can but I'm willing to let it stand as it now till I decide the new design.

I empty mine out a lot, usually on Wednesday evening before a new chapter comes out, but with the animal kingdom game I am a chapter behind on GOT now... I have a few wonders in my garden all the time, but only put all of them in along with my collections of high value items to get my rep high enuf to open all the boxes in the new chapter and then promptly make my garden pretty... last time I put in a 3 wide sidewalk along with multiple rows of flowers and a few houses that can be taken up easily to build rep without destroying my water feature (hopefully). Only time will tell, lol

I gave up and tore everything down and just put down all my over-800 rep per square items. I'm not a decorator but I liked my walkway, water section, and desert section. I have plenty of leftover space to put in stuff for the next couple chapters when they come out for a change. I really can't stand the rep thing, doing the quests and finishing each chapter should be enough to go on to the next chapter. There's always something in all of these games on FB though that makes no sense and is just annoying. The companies hire a lot of 20somethings because they have a lot of new ideas but I really wish that they'd hire someone with at least a decade of industry experience to hopefully weed out the really bad ideas. Rep counting for only the stuff in the garden is a head shaker yet it got approved. It shouldn't have, unless they wanted a few people in my group to start referring to this as "Garbage of Time" because there's really no garden there. It's just a junkyard and since I'm not a hoarder and really can't stand clutter it just gets on my nerves.
