Exclamation Seeking Advice on Equipment/Suit Purchase

OK. Apologies if there's already a thread for this, but I did a search and gave up after 6 pages and not seeing anything I could add to/reactivate.

Unlike other threads that are about X and Y items, I'd like to open a thread that people can post, "I'm looking at these two items, this is who I have, how will each item work with my team? Can you give me some advice"

    So...

    My current team is:

Razorgirl (My Agent): Lvl 32 Tactician, Feral Claws, EMP Blaster, Digital Spotter
    Ms Marvel: Lvl 8 Blaster
    She Hulk: Lvl 7 Bruiser
    Kitty: Lvl 3 Infiltrator
    Sif: Lvl 7 Scrapper

I'm looking at purchasing a new item with my Gold and would like some advise as to what would be best:
    • SI PDW11
    • Chrono Overdrive
    • Lvl II Tactician Suit (improve what already works?)
    • Lvl II Infiltrator Suit (as an extra option?)

Of course, if I get a Suit, then I'd need to get the Crystals to buff it as well...

Would appreciate some advice on which item you would suggest and why from some of the more experienced members of the forum... If you can remember what is was like when you were Level 32 and squishy (comparatively to where you are now).

    : )

I'd save your Gold until you're able to buy the eight-slot Trench. Those other things you listed will be outgrown in no time.

Sticking with your namesake, I'd use Sif to do a Weaken/Ravage or Tenderize. This will increase the Bleeding damage caused by your Feral Claws. The EMP Blaster is one of the best weapons in the game at your level, so keep that equipped.

I would've thought that by the time I hit another six levels and have had the Silver to research the suit, I'd have made back the Gold I'd need to get the Trench.

Or am I just being an impulse buyer?

I'm currently at level 79 now but when I was at around your level I had:

Agent: Tactician's SpecOp Impact Suit (with 6x Refined Chaotic Iso-8), SIPDW11, SA Ambush & Uni-Pulse
Ally #1: Phoenix as Blaster at Level 7/8
Ally #2: She-Hulk as Bruiser at Level 7/8

This was my definite setup for PvP and for most Missions as well. However, if someone was in training I'd swap in:

Option #1: Kitty Pride as Infiltrator at Level 6/7
Option #2: Spider Woman as Scrapper at Level 6/7
Option #3: Ms. Marvel as Blaster at Level 5/6 (I didn't know how good she was yet back then. LOL)

    Notes:
    1. I never changed nor upgraded my Agent's uniform until I hit level 65 and was able to get the Tactician's Commander Trench and stuffed it with ISOs. However I was able to keep a good track record in PvP and did really well in Missions too (I kept my losses under 30 with my victories over 500).
    2. Until now I still have the SIPDW11 and I still use it when I do missions as it comes in handy whenever it gets triggered by an opponents attack. Even now at level 79 it still proves helpful vs mission enemies.
    3. Never thought of using Chrono Overdrive.

See... My thought was that Chrono Overdrive gives a character double damage, which I thought would go great guns if I hit Ms Marvel with it after she'd done her Kree Strike, thus she would get double damage on the round that she has two attacks.

Nice to know that the SI PDW11 (that gives counter attacks) is useful enough to last several levels.

So unless someone comes in to champion purchasing a Suit, it's really down to these two options...

only get the suit when you have access to the commander trench coat's. those are the best suits out there. i lived with my generalist level 2 suit until i got my commander's trench.

Lvl 83 here , i still see some players using SI PDW11 together with sabertooth claws and Quickdraw 40 but they do it only with high attack outfits ( ex scrapper ) and good iso , But SI doesn't do that much dmg on that lvl , in my opinion it rocks though on eralier lvls ,but i didn't get it .
I personally saved all the gold for lvl 65 + and bought a QJ and two 8 slot trenchcoats , generalist and tactician .
Also i didn't do any iso researches kept socketing iso i found from deploys and random drops .
At 60 you unlock III iso shards , those i have researched them all and i socket them now gradually on my heroes .

Gold purchased weaps do greater dmg from normal ones but , after some time eventually they will get outdated , i prefer gadgets that stay good for all lvls .

On early lvls i used quite a lot Ms marvel - she hulk combo > lots of extra turns and good dmg , together with batstone , offensive accelerator and golden tonfa for agent and kept that item build for lots of lvls , till i get MFG and QJ , i generally prefer buffing my heroes and let them do the work
At early lvls i bought first all the 15 cp heroes and then some 33 or 48 . Invisible woman works quite well with Magnetic field generator , if you replace the generators shield on allies with invisible woman's shield all your characters get a free turn , helped me a lot .
Dr Strange is also quite helpfull on early lvls , it saves you for a lot of turn wasting on using healing packs .

Then i bought warmachine and lvled quite a lot with it , BUT now it has been nerfed a lot so perhaps you could get DD next that is a good char , also think Storm is a good choice , but at first you won't think she is good enough , later she is , her shroud is an impressive defensive measure .

Now at 83 i use : golden screaming eagle , Momentum generator , magnetic field generator and quantum jumper .
My favorite hero combo : spiderwoman - Black cat both lvl 9 , momentum generator makes black cat into a killing machine

About chrono overdrive , have seen some good uses of it but on high burst of weaps , for that weap i am 50/50 perhaps you should w8 a bit , it has low stamina cost though which is good .

Silver can only purchase the six slot trench. It takes gold to get the eight slot. Spend what you want until level 41 and you will be fine. From 41 on save for the trench and you will have just enough in gold from leveling. This of course does not include the gold you get from 4 starring missions.

Personally I would say no to Chrono Overdrive

S1 PDW11 is a good weapon though but I consider the Batstone a better investment at your level.

I've noticed your well-written posts about your team, your approach, and female characters in the game, and thought you could use another opinion (I'm level 80 currently).

It's tough to be patient, and have a big-picture view of the game at level 32, but if you purchase obsolete-able things with precious resources in the mid-game, you will not have enough to pay for the stuff you'll use the rest of the game (without dropping real $$ on the game). You'll need 22 or 24 Gold for the Trenchcoat of your choice at level 65, and before that 36 for the Quantum Jumper at level 60 (unless they nerf it to oblivion soon).

The only 2 items I would consider buying with Gold before level 60 are the Chrono Jumper and the Circuit Breaker.
I still see Chrono in PvP at 80+. It's useful if you want your agent to be a damage-dealer, and not primarily support.
Circuit is new, and loooks very strong. I don;t know what it looks like at level 32, but it's solid even at higher levels, and will help tremendously if you have problems with Ch 2's servoguards. <<Oh - but you have the EMP - never mind >>

    What Chapter are you on?
Are you looking to get some Gold weapons? (I'd suggest Golden Tonfa and Golden Screaming Eagle)
What direction did you decide to go? Role-play, or efficiency?

Here's an absolute - do not buy any more armors until level 65 unlocks.
They are sucker buys, and get obsoleted too quick and suck your resources away putting ISOs in them. Wait until level 40 unlocks the Generalist Recon2 Impact Suit.
I stuffed that with the best (non-Gold) ISOs I could afford (or better yet, get in drops) and rode that all the way till 65, and was pretty dominantly strong with it.
One suit is SO much easier to be strong in than 5 specialist suits.

Don't buy or research ISOs until Level 60 and the Tier 3 Shards become unlocked. Then research as many as you want - I went all the way to Chaotic, and have stuffed my entire team with them. It took 10 levels of research and constant grinding on the flightdeck - I don;t know if you have the time or interest to send lots of flights, so Chaotic might be a bit much....? If so, just to Bulky or Expert.

Don't buy the PDW11 unless you just can't resist it - stick with the Batstone for multi-attack weapon until you can get the Quick-Load T'Cha to drop for you. Look in the Mission Guide in the Tutorial section to determine the best missions to get them (2.1, 2.5 and 3.3 for Batstone, 6.3 for T'Cha).
If you don't have it, get an Offensive Accelerator (2.5, 3.4, 3.6. It is one of the best team-buffs in the game, and is used still at higher levels.

Level up Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk to level 9 (especially Ms. Marvel) - they are brick powerhouses at your level, and easily up to levels 60+.
Outfit them with the best ISOs you can find free in drops. After level 60 those ISOs will be replaced anyway.
Get and use the X-Ploiter with She-Hulk - its Staggered ability sets up her Motion Granite beautifully.

Hope this helps, and feel free if you have any questions.
