Hello Sisters,
So. Bollywood has opened! I've always wanted to go to India, and from what I've seen of the Glam, it's beautiful. I AM hearing that many of you want a greater gap between Study Abroad locations, but I hope that you are also seeing these as opportunities to broaden our horizons a bit. A lot of time and thought is put into the selection and content of these destinations, and sometimes it would be nice to stop and appreciate the cultural and (or in the case of Fairytale Adventure, imaginative) escape. It's like that old Shakespearean trope... a play within a play. A game within a game. I won't linger too much on this, as last week you all seemed to want me to get right to the brass tacks.
As I mentioned yesterday, you guys reached unprecedented Gifting heights which unfortunately caused the Gifting interface to crash. We added more juice and it should be up and running now, however, you may be experiencing a slight delay of items being added to your inventory.
Since this affected many VIPs, I am working to see if there is anything i can do for you guys. Sorry about this.
I know the game has been slow.... this is also a server issue. A team member has been working on this all day! You should see improvements very soon. Thanks for your patience with that.
I said this at the very end of last week's thread this morning, if you are experiencing any issues with Philanthropy, please PM me with the name of the platform you play on, in addition to your user ID you use to play SL on that platform.
Another issue that a small portion of you might be experiencing is that you began the location with a couple of puzzle pieces. This issue has been fixed, and despite having the extra pieces, this shouldn't affect your overall gameplay within the location.
Another issue that was just brought to my attention is the inability to obtain Swag items. Please provide more details about this. When it began, which specific items you are attempting to acquire, etc. Thank you.
I also became aware of an issue involving upgrade item drops. I am investigating this and will get back to you.
In order to make the thread productive this week, I will firmly request SPECIFICITY. Telling me, for instance, "Whitney, the whole game is broken and full of glitches!" is not any type of step in the right direction at all. I can't stress the importance of specificity enough.
I may not have addressed EVERY inquiry that game at the end of last week's WWW, so if I failed to address your issue above, please state it again. It is often hard to tell wit the old thread which issues are current. I also wanted to get this WWW out as soon as possible Thanks for cooperating with me on this.
On a more positive note, I'd love you to post some screenshots of some of your favorite pieces you've earned so far in Bollywood! Feedback in the Glam arena is always great!

Since Bollywood opened, there has been a complete breakdown of the game. Yeah, I know you said telling you that isn't helpful, but there is just SO MUCH WRONG, we wouldn't even know where to start.
Gifting:
I do not believe for ONE SECOND that we set an unprecedented number or w/e it is that you said, and that this was a direct cause of releasing Bollywood without any testing. The gifts aren't being credited to us, which makes us send them out again, rinse and repeat multiple times.
Swag items:
I am trying to collect espresso's, lipsticks, chocolate bars, and NONE of them are being credited to me. This has been going on since the release of Bollywood.
Also, I just want to point out, I think spacing these SA's out is in the best of interest of EVERYONE because we are simply getting burnt out, and each SA comes with a huge amount of glitches, BOLLYWOOD being the worse of them IMO.
I also have tried to collect Bollywood tickets and they too are not being credited. I have seen on my feed that the postcards are being credited 5, and the tickets are being credited one.. If this is happening, then this is clearly an error. I can't say one way or the other since MINE is not being credited at all.
Look for a PM from me because I am having problems with my philanthropy. It gives me an error that says "Unable to join philanthropy."

A delay of a MINIMUM of 24 hours? Whitney, come on. Bollywood opened, what? 2 days ago? I have been having this issue SINCE BOLLYWOOD OPENED. I will try again though and let you know.

India is a great location and I love that country very much. And yes I appreciate if research and thoughts are out in a game. To my surprise we see really nice saris but so far not one shalwar kameez, which is today's second popular clothing in India.
Good things this time around, looks like we need less tickets, we don't have to refesh when running out of energy on quests.
Bugs:
Names of quest partners are most of the time not listed.
Jumping screen which leads to clicks that cancel teams
gifting and access to swag items not reliable
message : unable to join quest should tell us why like in prior SAs "team full" "XXX is already in enough teams "
color choices for SA feed are terrible, this should have been tested (website disability compliane), it's barely readable for someone with good eyesight, color blind or people with eye issues can't read this.
Old bugs:
House members do not show up or come up as unknown
Jumping screen when voting and repeat voting for same sisters again and again.
A lot of sisters were not able to collect the 5 day gifts 4&5, due to total break down of gifting.

Really? Can't anticipate? W/the release of Bollywood tickets, samosas, & colored beads (with NO time to stock up over a week or so), IN ADDITION TO a 5-day? Really? They developers COULDN'T ANTICIPATE that? They are not smart, then, huh? When including postcards, that is 5 items in ONE DAY...1) tickets, 2) samosas, 3) colored beads, 4) postcards, and 5) 5th day black tights. Yea, record breaking for sure!
And to basically say this was OUR fault? For "breaking" it by sending too many gifts?
I will be quiet now. I'm not going to pay attention for the day for fear I will be too nasty. Good luck all!

Everyone is aware that there are far less SL players now than there used to be. I do not believe for one second that all of the active players set an unprecedented number of gifting.

I JUST (within three minutes) accepted another 10 tickets (at 5 per) and still only have 3 in my swag. Lipsticks seem to be credited but the Bollywood items - tickets, postcards, etc, are NOT being credited. They disappear into the flotsam of cyberspace

This might be but playdom timed the events (remember that a lot of gamers asked for a break in between SAs) - again some thinking before starting something would probably prevent a lot of glitches

Is something being done about the extra puzzle pieces that were given to some people at the start of the SA? My completion bar says it's at 20% when it should be at 10%

As previously stated in my initial post, having these extra pieces should not affect your overall gameplay. You will simply finish the location with a couple of extra pieces.

I would like the confirmation box back when quitting a philanthropy team. When my phila page has jumped, I've accidentally quit 2 teams already, one of which I had to try multiple times to even join in the first place. Previous SAs would ask for confirmation when we hit the Quit button, I would love it if we could add it back.

I think it's there in case a philanthropy is getting nowhere or the person isn't filling out sisters. I know I had joined one and she did not have enough sisters so I could never collect the reward and I quit it after 3 weeks.

the option should be there but there should be a confirmation delay to make sure. We get pop ups all the time this one makes sense.

i think the "quit team" button should be moved or something. because of page jumps i have quit every sisters phil while trying to complete my own on accident several times!!! some sisters who i drag through the phil's with me are taken from 100% done to 0% in a split second because of this. SO FRUSTRATING!!!
i'd also like the IM's fixed on campus. I cant even load the tab! These IM's have been out for EVER and still dont function. Maybe if a new SA wasnt put out the very second a previous one ended and the existing problems were fixed, MAYBE more people would still be playing. >___< I understand the SA is a money maker for PD but COME ON!!...

Right, but I think she's talking about the Cancel Philanthropy button, not the Quit This Team button. We should keep the Quit This Team, but the Cancel Philanthropy is just a really ugly accident waiting to happen.

i dont even want it to be removed just move it down so its not the first option when the page jumps... i refuse to do any more philanthropy because of this. its annoying!

Thanks for all the info. It's good to know the extra impostor puzzle pieces have been 'dealt' with and should not affect my future SA play.
As to the gifting overload, I totally believe it. It makes sense which is why I suggested this to pass along to the team in the last thread. I am pretty much c/p-ing this in here. Please please pass it along. STOP releasing SAs and the tickets and craft items we all need to get started when we are in the middle of a 5 day gifting event. Overlapping events where we all explode on sending stuff to all our sisters and misters, well of course it's gonna overload the system. It would have been smarter to let us finish the 5 day gifting first. (Which I think many of us want moved back to Mon-Fri still...having 2 of the 5 on the weekend when the gifts can only be sent and received for 1 day does nothing to help week day working people with the collecting. There's still 3 of the 5 items stuck on a weekday. The idea that it helps the week day working people really doesn't make sense, all it does is throw all of us off on the expected rhythm of the release.) After the final 5 day gift was done, THEN the tickets should have been released to allow us time to build up a small stash to get ready for the SA release. Then after a few days, let's say 3 days, the SA and craft items should have been released for VIPs. That way even if there was gifting problems we'd already have a small stash of tickets to go in with and it'd be less likely to have a sudden overwhelming explosion of 4 different gifts sent out by everyone to everyone. Seriously, our first night at reset I suddenly had 4 all new gifts to send out. Mass sending indeed, but none of it worked because the overload crippled the gifting system. Big surprise.
I want to give some emphasis on that bit in the parentheses, the 5-day gifting over the weekend bit is dumb. If you can pass that along, I'm not the only one who thinks so. Here's another c/p bit in case you missed it. Please let the team know. Due to the lack of regular commitments and the ability to relax a little on the weekends I tend to spend far less time on my computer over the weekend than I do over the week. In fact there's been several weekend where I'm up early and off on adventures and shenanigans with family and friends for the whole day. I don't log into facebook until the day is over, often times well after reset for my time zone so any gifts that were limited to that day only, I'm S.O.L. Fortunately that has never been the case over a 5 day gifting weekend but I'm figuring one of these days that'll happen. Now during the 5 day work week, I'm practically guaranteed to be on my computer every single day for several hours. I always manage to check in on SL during the week. The weekend, it's hit and miss. I can't imagine I'm the only player who functions like that. On weekend days I am on fb the game activity is always slower from most of the other people I play with.
If it was a 2-day gifting thing then I could buy the idea that having it over the weekend helps weekend players, but it's still 5-day gifting. Only 2/5 of the gifts actually fall on a weekend.
For a comparatively minor complaint I'd still like to see the capelet will be moved back to neckwear. It is still an extra right now and that is still a stupid place to put it. It really hinders using it sensibly with many outfits since as an extra it can be used with the necklaces, most of which it just covers up and it cannot be used with purses, umbrellas, swords, fans, and any other such item we can hold in our hands, which BTW it won't cover up... Please please please can you pester the team to put it back in neckwear where it was originally?

Since the SA opened, most of my gifts don't register. I hit my limit on espressos, tea, tix, etc. Nothing goes to my inventory. If I reload the game, all my gifts are back, and I can collect more up to the limit. They still don't register. A few times throughout the day, things worked, but for the vast majority of the last two days, I've been gift less.
Throughout the day, I've also been experiencing problems using swag. I hit the button and nothing happens.
I bought VIP to get in to the SA early since you announced it went through extra testing and would be less buggy. I put a ticket in for a refund. Fortunately they said I could have one. We'll see in 5-7 days if it hits my card.

While I was doing the VIP Event in the first tab for Bollywood, a popup occurred with a new Pink Dress saying it was a Style Upgrade. But it didn't post to my wall. ( You mentioned being aware of this; I am restating.)
My Current Philanthropy said I had the required 2/2 slots filled - but it showed me empty slots in the pop up telling me to Request Sisters to Join.
Day 4 and 5 of the 5 day Gifting event were made null and void by the glitches - my characters that I collected the Kitten Heels and the Black Tights now no longer have the items in their Inventory. We need those two items Re-Released.
Loading Issues: Bollywood itself is slow to load, if it loads at all. Same with areas within Bollywood when you get there. Campus has similar issues with the Switch Character page and Closet. (Intramurals, as always, are near-impossible to get into.)
Do you want to know WHY the gifting "soared to new heights"? Because we had ONE WHOLE DAY to try to get ready, when the Tickets and Samosas were released, before VIPs could get in. The fact that this wasn't anticipated as a complete and utter failure* shows an extreme lack of foresight in Dev, or whichever department is actually responsible for releases. If the next SA is not given at least two weeks' spacing for the bugs/glitches/testing to get worked out, then things will crash again. Possibly worse.
After all, if I can "Select All" to send an item to everyone in my House, I'm going to use it.

We should keep the Quit This Team, but the Cancel Philanthropy is just a really ugly accident waiting to happen. i think both the quit team and the cancel philli button need to be move which one you hit when the page jumps depends on if you are pitching in with Charm or with Pop. but hitting either is frustrating

I'd love to have the option to quit a philanthropy team that has hit 100%. It sounds silly, but I've joined several teams where people never get enough team members and it sits at 100%, just waiting. In Moscow I ended up with 5/10 slots that were useless because "XXX needs more team members" -- when I could have been joining other teams and earning more glam.

Events in Bollywood are loading incredibly slowly, if they do at all, when you click Do Event. Sometimes clicking Do Event makes it work, but you only get credit for one click.
The red subfeed in Bollywood is impossible to read in the Feed. White on pink is difficult to read, as it is. (I will, however, mention that I personally love the overall color scheme, though it's definitely not the cup of tea for some of my other Sisters who think it's too bright).
Right now my Campus feed isn't loading.
Apparently now I can't get back into Bollywood, either.

Which honestly doesn't mean much. They need to have some kind of Maintenance webpage like other services use, that lists out what they're working on and when the expected Uptime will commence. I've used other service that have utilized such a thing spectacularly to keep the "natives" under control. Also, since we've had months of continuous glitches of the same kinds of issues over and over, we NEED you guys to give us some kind of compensation if you want to keep us. I've had my VIP subscription since the end of the first half-month it was available, and I'm seriously teetering on the brink of giving up. One person may be a drop in the pool of your funds for servers and such, but I know for a fact that others are contemplating the same, and you've lost plenty of people already.
Ways Playdom Can Give Themselves Time to Work On SAs and Make Money So They Can Make Them Run Smoothly While Allowing for No-SA Time:
Have a Glam with BP Sale
Have a REAL BP Sale (back to half-off of already posted prices for BPs, instead of the "bonus" BPs)
Have a Holiday Countdown-type Sale (Glam for BP with some kind of prize at the end)
I'm sure there are more possibilities, but that's what I can remember at the moment.
I've worked in Retail/Wholesale/Customer Service in various functions for a decade, so I know that it can be a PITA and overwhelming.. but this game is one of the few Vices I've allowed myself in this terrible economy even while I've been unemployed, and I would hate to give it up. You guys can think of something. Just stop driving your customers and yourselves crazy in the meantime.

Heck yeah! I love that check box! But I used like 6 times that first night of release! I come on and suddenly it's like "Oh holy toledo! VIP is open already and I've only got 30 some tickets from the postcard pack for event which I'm still trying to get the sari on and oh wow we have samosa whatever things to send and the last of the 5 day gifting and colored beads which look like jelly beans! hmmm, i'm hungry now" I tried to hurry and send stuff but of course stuff wasn't working and coming back so I tried sending tickets again a couple times before finally calling it all quits and leaving SL in a tired and sad little VIP huff.
Keep in mind I only have 140ish peeps in my house, I'm not pushing myself to get full. I can't image what it did to the system to have sisters with 500+ houses send all of those 4 new items all at once.
Also I want to add I love that a quit phil button has been added, but I'm shocked a confirmation pop up doesn't accompany it. That needs to be rectified. I don't misclick much but it does happen and I know the jumping page thing has been an intermittent issue for many if not all of us.

Gifts starting working again - tickets - etc - ( I tested just a few) then SNAP! Now I cannot do a thing. I can't see my feed. I can't load socializing. I can't go to Bollywood. I can't see my swag. I can't fight. I CAN, however, decide to play something ELSE!

I know you want us to be specific, and I know why that's helpful, but given the fact that most of us have been staring at a screen that says "Sorry, Sorority Life is temporarily down for maintenance..." all day long, how much more specific can we possibly be? The game has been totally unplayable today.
I am not going to go into what a total disaster philanthropy has been, others have already brought it up.
The glam in Bollywood is nice. But honestly with nothing working right, I don't care about glam. It's a little insulting. I know you're trying to look on the bright side and I'm sorry if I'm being too forward. I believe you when you say you're on our team. I just don't know if anyone else over there at Playdom is.
On my list of "hey, this still isn't fixed yet", please find: page jumping, Attack Again button randomly disappearing, hundreds of gifts randomly disappearing (this has happened over and over before our recent unprecedented gifting).

A lot of sisters were not able to collect the 5 day gifts 4&5, due to total break down of gifting.
Whitney, I submitted a ticket for this and got a plain, generic, copy and paste answer. I had ALL of the gifts, but the 4th would not show up in my closet. So with the useless response that I got, does that mean we're not going to be credited the gifts the glitch took from us?

OK Whitney, it looks like most of the problems regarding the SA have been stated, I am having those along with the others. The other problems we have had for MONTHS now have also been mentioned, I have those as well. THIS is my main irritant right now, and am hoping that, unlike the Christmas collection - someone will fix it because this one is ALL PLAYDOM'S FAULT, NOT A SIMPLE RULE CHANGE!
Gifts I had ALREADY CLAIMED during the recent gifting issues were REMOVED FROM MY INVENTORY! This includes items from the current 5-day collection (days 3 & 4)- which could not be recovered, even through the FB games and apps page- because they had vanished from there as well. And then on day 5 I was only able to receive a couple of pairs of tights, even though I was online most of the day trying to finish the collection. Submitted a help-desk ticket, which is usually just a big waste of time, and am including the contents of that ticket at the end of this post. I also pay for VIP access, but sure as heck don't feel very important... In fact, I think Playdom has changed the definition of VIP from Very Important Person to VERY INSIGNIFICANT PATSY.

Are you going to do anything about this?
When the "rules" for gift collections were changed in December, a lot of players lost out on the Christmas collection because you did not feel it was necessary to inform us of the changes, that was bad enough- but you did not feel the need to compensate for your lack of communication - this however is different, these collection pieces were removed due to the programming issues, and therefore needs to be addressed in a manner that (for once) is favorable to us players.

I can't add to what everyone else has already said in terms of glitches, but I would like to say that I have to switch back to campus if I want to chat because the colours in Bollywood are too much, it's almost migraine inducing.
Other than that, I like teh shinies (glam).

Right, but I think she's talking about the Cancel Philanthropy button, not the Quit This Team button. We should keep the Quit This Team, but the Cancel Philanthropy is just a really ugly accident waiting to happen.
Especially since it says "Cancel Philanthropy" and "Cancel" -- see where some are likely to get confused???

You get 5 tickets as a bonus just for logging in.
You get up to 5 more based upon the number of tickets that you send out that are accepted.
Your bonus will cap out at 10.
That is what is supposed to happen, but I have NEVER not in one single SA gotten anymore than the base 5 ticket bonus. And I send LOTS of gifts, both from that screen and the regular gift page. That is a problem I have never thought to mention, it is so minor compared to the other issues. Glad to see someone bring it up!

hmm. so our need to have our horizons broadened is why PD can't take the time to release features that don't crash their game? the bollywood glam is cute, but i don't really feel the broadening, especially with a cliche like "provide tech support" philanthropy. i don't get worked up about things like that, but one of my sisters actually thought that was offensive. :rolleyes: anyway, i am willing to put my cultural edification on hold for PD to get their little 1s and 0s in order so we don't all rip our hair out. but since you asked for specificity, then i would have to say my biggest problem right now is very slow speed and bollywood, profiles, and socializing not opening at all. also, the feed goes blank all the time and i have to hard refresh to get it back.

Went to the gifting center, which loaded, but when I click gifts it says "Say Thanks!" instead of Return the Favor. Back to that, are we?

Just a moment ago, all 187 of my gifts vanished. Do you know how long it takes to get gifts going with your house members? All of these were going to go to my main & mini tomorrow. This just may be the last straw for me. As much as I loved the game I can't keep playing if the company that owns it cares less about it's paying customers, let alone the ones that play for free.

Lovely sentiment, and if Playdom would devote 1/3 of that "time and thought" into fixing the ongoing issues, then maybe we COULD "broaden our horizons" & "appreciate the cultural or imaginative escape"- but I hope you do understand that cannot happen when there are this great multitude of problems, when you have to shut down and refresh your browser after every single click the enjoyment is quickly replaced with an urge to either smash your monitor, or go do something that actually works.

I used to get the full 10 bonus tickets, but I've just gotten the base five for several locations now. And I send a lot of gifts. :p

I've NEVER gotten the "supposed" 10 that you are supposed to get...and I send out over 200 gifts per day....including the 50 tickets daily allocated. It always states "five"....hmm. Glad it's working for someone.

Sooooooooo... now we have Gold Bars in the Gifting Center. I presume that they are the reason the game was down, and not to actually make any headway in overhauling and fixing the glitches? Because just what we need right now is *another* gift to send and clog up the servers. Yes, I do believe that's a great idea.
Gifting is definitely messed up AGAIN.. it's letting me accept tickets even though i maxed on this character today.. okay, it did up to a certain point. For the ones below that (pre-game "Maintenance", I presume) it's now giving me the "Say Thanks!" message again instead of "Return the Favor".. and the items aren't crediting to swag.
One sister of mine says that her Gold Bars maxed out at 3 in her Swag, no matter how many she accepted.

Like many here, I can point out so many issues:
1. Gifts disappear faster than an ex when you ask him for a DNA sample.
2. Bollywood feed background ~ Whoever designed that thing hates human corneas. Seriously. Everyone in my feed is complaining about how hard it is to read the white over pink. And don't get me started on the ghastly red subfeed writing. If I offer the Haus of Maus more cheese, will they hire better designers? Instead of cheese, here's a great suggestion: change that background to something generic and neutral. A light powder blue would suffice, and use the sari print as a border, rather than a background. The 1970s sari print turns everyone off faster than seeing David Hasselhoff in a Speedo or Rush Limbaugh anywhere.
3. SA timing ~ I know these are prime moneymakers...Why else would they be rolled out so quickly, one after another? However, we're all getting sick of them overlapping. Today, I had fairy tickets and Bollywood tickets, runes and stones, all in my gifts. It's getting excessive. If you want us to "appreciate the culture", quit trying to make it like a 3-day European tour of 20 countries. Like any other trip, give us some time to recuperate before we hit another one.
4. Overlapping events ~ I can understand the gifting server crashing like a sugar-buzzed teen. Playdom had several events going, and all required gifting. I know it's a small thing, but timing can save your server space and save your programmers a huge headache. Patience will reap profit in the long run.
5. Pre-emptive feature testing ~ I was never so happy to NOT be a VIP as I was three days ago, when I was watching the VIP members go ballistic over having premium access to what seemed to be the most glitchy SA ever premiered. I'm not kidding...Those sisters and misters were pointing out errors everywhere, and I couldn't help but wonder why in the world anyone would pay good money to be the game's guinea pig on new events. The VIP status is supposed to feel like a privilege, and instead, being granted access to a glitchy, unplayable, error-ridden Study Abroad was just horrible customer service all around. I'm going to repeat this: I am NOT a VIP member. Every time I see where the VIPs go through more aggravation and trouble for something that's supposed to be exclusive, I smile. I used to buy BPs, too, but I'm no longer investing anything other than what I can get free in the game...Simply because I refuse to spend money on something which only works sporadically, and which seems to use its paying members as a test-run. Please, run your test modulars before you put those new SAs out, and you may find more people willing to pay for a workable game.
Lastly, SL has the potential to be a really great place to kill a few hours a day. Right now, though, I need a glass of wine or three just to make it through the glitches.

As one of those VIP members that had the pleasure of briefly going ballistic and then making myself go to bed where I rocked myself into a coma, I agree with all these sentiments. The VIP benefits are not outweighing the negatives, and haven't, for most of the time I've been one. I don't like being a guinea pig unless I'm being paid for it. :P

Is it me, or is Whitney being snippy on this thread? Anyone else feeling that? I know a sister is. The initial post was snippy (I could read the exasperation in the "specificity" paragraph), and the replies are, well, "I don't care what you think, these are the facts." Kinda wrong for a professional representing a professional company? Maybe she's just as frustrated as the rest of us? Maybe she's finally feeling what we feel on a DAILY basis.
As for all that's wrong, I would take the time to make a list but I've lost interest. So many have made lists in the past to no avail. The SAME things are a problem, so being specific doesn't help. Sending specifics to Whitney does't help. Sending in tickets doesn't help (I STILL can't submit a ticket, btw).
Specifics on my account: If I get in, I can't stay in. Buttons quit working, or the feed or gifts disappear when I refresh. Then I hard refresh & BOOM I'm locked out. I can't accept phil invites peeps sent ("Unable to Accept" error appears), and my gifts change in number all the time. I haven't even checked if they are being credited because I can't stay on long enough...I'm booted out.
Guess they don't want me to play?? *looks confused*

Today Bollywood tickets only come up as 1 when collected and postcards are 5. So when you collect your days allotment you end up with a measley 50 tickets. This SA is going to take forever.
My daughter just collected her days worth, got 50 and couldnt even complete one event to gold. Yay

Do you blame her for being snippy? Im quite surprised she hasn't been MORE snippy given the nature of attitudes in this thread, mine included. I think she's doing great given the circumstances.

OK, grab yourself a stale mochaccino and one of those rock-hard muffins. You're going to need them. Whether you eat them or cast them at me is completely up to you :p I understand you're a liaison, so none of my gall is directed at you specifically.
Like many here, I can point out so many issues:
1. Gifts disappear faster than an ex when you ask him for a DNA sample.
2. Bollywood feed background ~ Whoever designed that thing hates human corneas. Seriously. Everyone in my feed is complaining about how hard it is to read the white over pink. And don't get me started on the ghastly red subfeed writing. If I offer the Haus of Maus more cheese, will they hire better designers? Instead of cheese, here's a great suggestion: change that background to something generic and neutral. A light powder blue would suffice, and use the sari print as a border, rather than a background. The 1970s sari print turns everyone off faster than seeing David Hasselhoff in a Speedo or Rush Limbaugh anywhere.
3. SA timing ~ I know these are prime moneymakers...Why else would they be rolled out so quickly, one after another? However, we're all getting sick of them overlapping. Today, I had fairy tickets and Bollywood tickets, runes and stones, all in my gifts. It's getting excessive. If you want us to "appreciate the culture", quit trying to make it like a 3-day European tour of 20 countries. Like any other trip, give us some time to recuperate before we hit another one.
4. Overlapping events ~ I can understand the gifting server crashing like a sugar-buzzed teen. Playdom had several events going, and all required gifting. I know it's a small thing, but timing can save your server space and save your programmers a huge headache. Patience will reap profit in the long run.
5. Pre-emptive feature testing ~ I was never so happy to NOT be a VIP as I was three days ago, when I was watching the VIP members go ballistic over having premium access to what seemed to be the most glitchy SA ever premiered. I'm not kidding...Those sisters and misters were pointing out errors everywhere, and I couldn't help but wonder why in the world anyone would pay good money to be the game's guinea pig on new events. The VIP status is supposed to feel like a privilege, and instead, being granted access to a glitchy, unplayable, error-ridden Study Abroad was just horrible customer service all around. I'm going to repeat this: I am NOT a VIP member. Every time I see where the VIPs go through more aggravation and trouble for something that's supposed to be exclusive, I smile. I used to buy BPs, too, but I'm no longer investing anything other than what I can get free in the game...Simply because I refuse to spend money on something which only works sporadically, and which seems to use its paying members as a test-run. Please, run your test modulars before you put those new SAs out, and you may find more people willing to pay for a workable game.
Lastly, SL has the potential to be a really great place to kill a few hours a day. Right now, though, I need a glass of wine or three just to make it through the glitches.

What would she do if she were a paying customer? How do we get satisfaction? If I pre-paid for a meal in a restaurant and got this kind of service I would demand that they refund my money or compensate me with a free meal on a future date. Does she tolerate this kind of service when she spends her real money? If Whitney wants us to believe that she is on "our side" she needs to act like it and demand that we get good value for our money and EXCEPTIONAL customer service...... or she can save the BS for someone that believes it. :mad:
p.s. I am NOT impressed with the glam the way Whitney is........ if you want to impress me pick Indian designers and not Chanel and Hermes. Additionally..... does anyone at Playdom know how to use Google maps? This SA should not be "Bollywood" but India...... Calcutta is 2,000 KM away from Bollywood so how does it make sense to call the SA "Bollywood"? ...... they do this for just about every SA. It's like making the destination "Hollywood" and then having tabs for Dallas, New York, and Chicago.. Tell the mouse you need an almanac. :confused:

On a personal side, no I don't. I'd be frustrated, too. But I'd be frustrated at the developers, not the players who are telling it like it is. She's a professional. Her role is PR. The appropriate responses would be to calm ruffled feathers, not ruffle them further.

Yup! I posted on FB, it's called "Warranty of Merchantability." Companies get sued all the time for this. (And no, I'm not claiming or hinting I am suing, or would, b/c I refuse to spend my $ on a glitchy mess. I spend it on other FB games that have better games & c.s. Therefore I am not able to sue for that. But VIPs could...paying money for a product and service they aren't getting.)

At this point with my game freezing every other click I make all i want to do is collect gifts. BUT, like other people have said, I hit my limit of 50 tickets collected, and only a fraction of them show up in my swag, and this is AFTER waiting an hour or two and checking again.
Also, I cannot accept sister invites to join houses. I've accepted one poor girl's invite at least 25 times and still it pops back up as unaccepted in my gift box. She probably thinks I don't like her or something.
Since I'm not really bothering with Faileywood right now, I've tried doing stuff on campus and I can't even fight. I attack someone and it takes 30-40 seconds for the game to recuperate before I can scroll or hit any buttons again. I've got fast internet and a fast computer so I'm guessing it's door #3! Surprise, surprise. And everything is still jumping.
And lastly, sisters clicks on posts for Work Visas are not registering in the game. I get 2 or 3 and they stop coming through.
Hope that's specific enough O_o

well .... I was sure playdom uses automated answers for customer service, that would make sense if you look at the answers like the one you got. But Whitney really chided
me on this and said they're real human beings reading and answering our e-mails. So I guess, after months of complaints from users about bad communication and no sense making e-mails (this surely qualifies as a known issue at this point) you still answer with a choice of 3 canned answers means hat you really don't care at all.

Maybe it's like everything else throw out some ideas and than do research later. Maybe Whitney should pass on her thoughts from her 1st post to the dev. team. I'd love to see more background infos on the trips, besides the first few things that come up when you think about a country or destination.
Again there seems to be a pattern, come up with an idea and implement before thinking it through.

1. Compensation to VIPs for not being able to get into Bollywood a day early, as is supposed to be one of our perks. If the game doesn't work, we don't get that perk.
2. 500 free Bollywood tickets and 500 free postcards to EVERY PLAYER, regardless of VIP, for the vanishing gifts, which has been going on for months now. I just collected my maximum number of postcards and tickets. How many are in my inventory? Six postcards and 11 tickets.
3. A full month break from SAs once this catastrophe is finished. You obviously need to work on basic game mechanics before you release another one. We've been doing SAs for about 18 months now and they are worse every single time due to game glitches. Get your act together before you torture us again.
4. One free LE Bollywood glam for each player. It's the least you can do for this constant display of incompetence. Our choice of glam from the Bollywood releases.
5. An APOLOGY via email to every single player of this game, outlining how you know how horribly you run the game and how horribly you treat your players, whether paying players or non-paying players. Every one of us lines your pockets one way or another, and our loyalty is rewarded with utter incompetence and a game which is mechanically worse every passing day.

I didn't read it as snippy. *shrug* I think she's only doing what she can to give and receive information as clearly and quickly as possible. I would think she's as frustrated as all of us, especially since she probably has to put all the problems we're telling her into some specifically formatted report to pass on the techs. Report speak is like a whole other language and it can be quite exhausting working with forms and reports and being the middle man passing along information without it getting jumbled. Honestly I can totally see how she'd need to emphasize the need to specificity. I don't see how she can just pass on "it's broken" to the people who fix stuff. It does seem like a lot of what we tell her gets lost in the communication threads since we do list out problems time and again. I often wonder if I'm tending to be verbose in trying to explain my reasoning behind why I do or don't like some game function/feature.
I actually rather liked her "these are the facts" response there, what else is she supposed to say confrontational "I don't believe you" kind of statements. She can't change things to make them match our ideas of how things are and I'd rather she not sugar coat things to placate us or patronize us.

YES, AS A MATTER OF FACT I DO!
Standing up as a rep of Playdom is her JOB & it isn't like we are the CAUSE of the issues, we are the feedback, the VOICE of the CUSTOMER, so her job is to suck it up, and placate us as well as she can- which would not be nearly as big a problem if they would TREAT US LIKE CUSTOMERS & respond to the issues with solutions instead of just empty words.
I have seriously started to doubt if she is even a "real" person- that account could be just as fake as a lot of the ones I have seen on the game, and manned by whoever draws the "short straw" at Playdom... so they can give us the ILLUSION that someone in the company actually gives a damn- even though we all ought to know better by now.
And yes, the attitude today was "snippy" to say the least, and the NERVE to scold us for not appreciating the "time and effort" put into creating the locations, glam, etc... and the suggestion to "escape" to these locations through the game, how on earth could anyone who has been listening to us DARE try to pass that garbage off as something you could possibly appreciate and enjoy?? If they put a fraction of that "time and effort" into FIXING THE DARN GAME maybe THEN we could use the game as a way to "escape to another place", don't you think?
I would like to remind these people once again that the majority of us playing SL are adults, not children - and the decision where, how and when to spend our money is, for the most part, at our discretion. That's right, these rants in the forum, support tickets & mass posts on FB, MS and Tagged are being made by people who have the power to support this game financially or find another way to spend our money... I know one VIP member or bp purchase is just a drop in the bucket, but if you browse the forum and look at how many people are disgruntled, you would see the potential for that bucket to overflow...
And just for the record, I wish someone had notified me months ago when I became a VIP member that in Playdom's lingo that means "VERY INSIGNIFICANT PATSY", not Very Important Person...:mad:

I think this may be clear if you pay attention to the story under the choosing the sets event in the first tab. I'm moving through that event now and these locations and why we are "going" there come up for a specific reason. In case you passed this event without reading the text it pretty much goes along with the idea that movies may be linked to Hollywood but the shooting may take place in locations like Dallas, New York, and Chicago. This SA is taking place in Bollywood 'cause that's where the movie industry is linked but our ambitious SL selves are shooting in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangladore, and Calcutta.

Ask for a refund for your VIP, this is usally granted.

I just wanted to raise this issue (apology if this has been raised and I missed it) but purchases I'm making in the SA are not showing up properly. Eg I have completed the Choosing the Sets option, which means I had to own 5 White Cat-Eye Sunglasses to complete it. I've gone to sell all but one of them now I've completed it, but when I go to "Shopping" it says I only own two, so I can't sell the four I wanted to. (Oh I'm on Facebook.)
Also, one of the things I've hated about SAs is how after every click, I have a pop up come up for an intramural or the like. I find it so frustrating. However it's not happening this SA, which I'm not sure if it's a glitch, or an improvement. Either way it's made my game play much more enjoyable.
Thanks for listening to our feedback and helping where you can. This cannot be an easy job/crowd at times.
hey whitney............pls pass this on to ur team........dat i love this bollywood SA.......the glam is amazing.....esp the puzzle glam....i think that ur team put in hard work and it really shines through.......gr8 work done.....:)
P.S- i really love that that there is little break b/w SA's ...otherwise the game wud become monotonous......this actually keeps us players glued to the game....:)

No, it isn't just you. My glitches are still present. Some of the players in my house can play and are in fact nearly finished with Bollywood.

Standing up as a rep of Playdom is her JOB & it isn't like we are the CAUSE of the issues, we are the feedback, the VOICE of the CUSTOMER, so her job is to suck it up, and placate us as well as she can- which would not be nearly as big a problem if they would TREAT US LIKE CUSTOMERS & respond to the issues with solutions instead of just empty words.
I have seriously started to doubt if she is even a "real" person- that account could be just as fake as a lot of the ones I have seen on the game, and manned by whoever draws the "short straw" at Playdom... so they can give us the ILLUSION that someone in the company actually gives a damn- even though we all ought to know better by now.
And yes, the attitude today was "snippy" to say the least, and the NERVE to scold us for not appreciating the "time and effort" put into creating the locations, glam, etc... and the suggestion to "escape" to these locations through the game, how on earth could anyone who has been listening to us DARE try to pass that garbage off as something you could possibly appreciate and enjoy?? If they put a fraction of that "time and effort" into FIXING THE DARN GAME maybe THEN we could use the game as a way to "escape to another place", don't you think?
I would like to remind these people once again that the majority of us playing SL are adults, not children - and the decision where, how and when to spend our money is, for the most part, at our discretion. That's right, these rants in the forum, support tickets & mass posts on FB, MS and Tagged are being made by people who have the power to support this game financially or find another way to spend our money... I know one VIP member or bp purchase is just a drop in the bucket, but if you browse the forum and look at how many people are disgruntled, you would see the potential for that bucket to overflow...
And just for the record, I wish someone had notified me months ago when I became a VIP member that in Playdom's lingo that means "VERY INSIGNIFICANT PATSY", not Very Important Person...:mad:

I didn't read it as snippy. *shrug* I think she's only doing what she can to give and receive information as clearly and quickly as possible. I would think she's as frustrated as all of us, especially since she probably has to put all the problems we're telling her into some specifically formatted report to pass on the techs. Report speak is like a whole other language and it can be quite exhausting working with forms and reports and being the middle man passing along information without it getting jumbled. Honestly I can totally see how she'd need to emphasize the need to specificity. I don't see how she can just pass on "it's broken" to the people who fix stuff. It does seem like a lot of what we tell her gets lost in the communication threads since we do list out problems time and again. I often wonder if I'm tending to be verbose in trying to explain my reasoning behind why I do or don't like some game function/feature.
I actually rather liked her "these are the facts" response there, what else is she supposed to say confrontational "I don't believe you" kind of statements. She can't change things to make them match our ideas of how things are and I'd rather she not sugar coat things to placate us or patronize us.
My master's degree is in corporate communication. I'm known in my circle for having an innate ability to wordsmith things to sound understanding, compassionate, and calm, while also explaining the need for certain information and why things are the way they are, and what can be done to change it, if any. One field in corp comm is public relations. She has taken a PR role, and most of her prior threads are, indeed, on the PR wordsmith track. This one, however, is not.
I do agree "the game is broken" is too vague & the need for specificity. However, perhaps saying this would have been better:
"Players, I am a player, too, and believe me I am as frustrated at these issues as you are. Please accept my apologies on behalf of Playdom for the game failing when Bollywood was released. Unfortunately, the gift servers were overwhelmed and things crashed. We are in process of fixing it now so that you may enjoy your time in this S.A. I know that it's hard when we are anxious to play, but please bear with us while we work out the glitches we know are there: 1) x, 2) y, and 3) z.
Due to the way I need to fill out the forms to hand to tech support, I need a, b, & c if anything but the known issues listed above are occurring. I know, it's so tedious to provide this information, I feel that when I submit my own. ;) But it is a necessary evil to get these things fixed.
It is tough to enjoy the game when the glitches are so prevalent. Hopefully when it all gets worked out we can take the time to enjoy the culture in Bollywood. I, for one, am looking forward to the different sari's, especially the <blank> one.

I have a non-SA issue. I've posted about it in the bugs forum and also sent a support ticket - all I got from that was a standard template "we might get round to this sometime within the next century" response. Basically, events won't load. Majors won't load. The only place I can socialise without getting stuck on "loading" is in the SA - oh, and galas and the pack for Bollywood event. Curiously, they work fine, but none of the others do. Someone suggested to remove ad blockers and it worked. But I don't use my own computer and there is no way on Earth I am removing ad blockers and opening my - or anyone else's - computer up to all the nasty stuff that could get through.
Does Playdom WANT to infect our computers with stuff so badly we can't even get online to play? This never used to happen. Someone's messed up somewhere.

Specifics:
I use Google Chrome 17.0.963.66 m. I am on the Facebook platform. I can PM you my User ID if you need.
As of yesterday (I don't DARE log in today since I am reading on my FB & groups I am in that nothing has changed):
1) My gifts are not adding to my inventory when I collect.
2) My gifts are vanishing on a soft refresh (in-game refresh button) and sometimes on a hard refresh (in-browser refresh button); however, 1 or 2 more hard refreshes & they all appear again (I have SSs...once I had over 500, then 32, then back to the 500 amount).
3) When people click on my Work Visa, it is not decreasing my need. Even though they can copy/paste the "confirmation" to my post, it's not actually decreasing the amount.
4) I can only accept a very small portion of philanthropy invites...most of the time I am getting a "Unable to join Philanthropy" message (I have a SS of that as well). Initially I thought it was because they were full. But it happened on one JUST SENT, and hers had openings. And I was NOT FULL...I has just changed characters, opened Bollywood, & selected a Phil so I was "active" in one to then accept. So I know this was a glitch.
I know there is more, this is just the beginning. It's the same glitches most are experiencing.

Exactly! Hahaha It just flaws me. You learn to check and recheck the codes, you preview it, save it, and recheck the codes. I don't understand why Playdom wouldn't shut the game down for an hour to have a quick run through themselves to see if everything works correctly. And then recheck the codes.
They've grown lazy and greedy.
Whitney, we appreciate these Study Abroads, that's why we haven't said stop them completely, all we want is a decent break to regroup. The SAs become a chore. I feel like I HAVE to get on SL just so I don't get behind in these types of things.
I wouldn't mind that so much if the developers "enjoyed" what they did with this game and respected their customers. Lately, it doesn't feel that way at all.
I could rant on for ages, but it's not worth it, because it's not a specific glitch I'm complaining about.

Hi, I hope I'm not too late (as the timing of this thread usually falls in my night and early working time). I failed to find a thread of known problems - so here's my only problems right now:
I can't properly socialise on campus, my events get stuck on "Organizing event ..." or "Loading ..." and I need to refresh to do another event. The only events that load properly are those that drop glam, like 5-Day-events, the raffle and packing events. (Due to this I am missing on a lot of nice campus glam because I mostly socialise on SA)
When I boot sisters, sometimes they don't leave my house at all, and sometimes they are automatically readded with or without either party accepting or sending a gift. This is very annoying for me as a strategy player who needs to TD (I house most players from the IC as well). It is also annoying if I booted someone because they got on my nerves, the readd even happens without being facebook friends.
Lastly, my game is gradually getting slower and slower. I have retired all my hunters, but I have a rider I have been building for almost 2 years and it sucks that people can hit me a lot faster than I can load either swag or spa. Those of you who know me can probably vouch that my defense is deadly unless you are a high charm build. I know I don't have a chance at the IC anymore, but I would really like to ride my char.
The SA has some nice glam btw, I like it.

Definitely agreed. It's beyond a joke.
I recently put in a ticket:
"My wardrobe tab under the glam tab won't load. It hasn't for a couple of weeks. The strange thing was that the shopping tab in the Fairy tale adventure would load and I could see the new LE items. But now that it's ended I can't see the new LE items or vintage items at all."
And the response:

I had a million posts here quoted, and a million dittos to go round, but what's the point? Yes I am having the same problems EVERYONE else is, oh let me be SPECIFIC - Gifts total yesterday 600+, today 0, refresh, 600+, go to collect gifts, collect 10-15 tickets, check swag, tickets listed =0
ok so yup got that one.
But since Whitney or anyone at PD isn't going to answer yours, and my, question "WHY are you releasing these back to back SAs when you know they don't work!!!!"
Answer: Because PD has frustrated and ticked off their consumer base aka players so bad that they are doing a #2 in their pants at the though of every last player quitting quicker than you can say glitch.
I will 100% admit the only reason I have been attempting to play the past couple days IS because the SA is out. I'm a lvl 170+ on my main, been playing for 3yrs, have bought BPs, was once a VIP, and did invest money into this game. I like the clothes, I like playing dress up, I tried other FB games that were similar but they didn't seem as 'fun' as SL. I had a vested interest in this particular game, but I have my limits, a line between fun and aggravation. A long time ago, and many SAs ago, I reached that point. I stopped playing and just came back right around the Moscow SA. If I leave the game it has to be for good because at the rate of these SAs coming out, die hard players ARE going to take every one of their characters through and gain more and more boarders. If I left and came back in a year, I would have so many fewer house members to fight with that everything I have built up in my main character to this point will be a waste against houses with 500+ boarders that will be accumulated through non stop SAs. So either I keep putting up and fighting through the bugs to keep up with others my lvl and higher or I give up cold turkey and never turn back. Many of my long time sisters have!
So here is where PD has us by the virtual beach balls... THEY KNOW I am not alone in my thinking, the only strings they have left to pull is the idea that bringing out more and more new glam, in a limited, timed fashion continuously, is the only thing they have to keep anyone playing. Stop the SAs and they'll hear crickets. Not even fixing the current on campus glitches 100% will save them, no one will be here to know they've done it.
That's my take on it, no matter how much we beg for time off from SAs that would spell death for SL and PD knows it.

I think this may be clear if you pay attention to the story under the choosing the sets event in the first tab. I'm moving through that event now and these locations and why we are "going" there come up for a specific reason. In case you passed this event without reading the text it pretty much goes along with the idea that movies may be linked to Hollywood but the shooting may take place in locations like Dallas, New York, and Chicago. This SA is taking place in Bollywood 'cause that's where the movie industry is linked but our ambitious SL selves are shooting in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangladore, and Calcutta.
.... so if you went to Milan and then traveled to Rome, Florence, and Venice you would come home and talk about your trip to "Milan"? I would talk about my trip to Italy .. that SA should have been Italy just like this one should be India

Exactly! This was why I posted what I did as my first post after Whitney. There are sooooooooooo many, that being specific about the all is so tedious it's not worth it. It would take paragraphs worth of detailed, specific information, and that's not a guarantee. These are the same glitches that keep getting "fixed" then reappear.
I would rather the game be down a day or two than to attempt playing w/the 20+ glitch mess it is. It needs to be taken down for fixes.
Hubs is a CTO & software developer. I know he would NEVER deliver this. Oh, software will ALWAYS have glitches. He quotes someone (can't remember who) that the only time you have no bugs is when no one is using your product. But the level and amount are so abundant here that PD (and Disney!) should feel absolutely ashamed. Why should we continue to document the same bugs over and over and over and over and over again? It's just too much!

Same for me. I just thought I collected my allotment of tickets and none of them are in my inventory. When I logged in, it said "You accepted 46 gifts!" and it gave me the option to push the button for return the gift. Then I had about 10 or so that I could click the button to collect and then return. Also, I am having no luck joining philanthropies either. It keeps telling me "Unable to join Philanthropy."

exactly. the post was rather snippy and it's like we are viewed as ungrateful children. ridiculous. at $20/month for VIP, SL is one of the most expensive online video games there is. i submitted a ticket two days ago for a missing glam issue and i haven't even received the standard form letter back. whitney's job is customer service for PD. she should be apologizing to us, not telling us to calm down or be grateful for so many SAs. now that i have read many of these WWW threads, i find it harder to believe whitney actually plays SL. if she did, she would be just as ticked at PD as we are.

playdom is a business, they trade in cute pixel outfits for virtual paper dolls.
If I go to a coffee house and order a cup of coffee, for which I pay, I expect to be served by a nice waitress a nice cup of coffee. If I go to a florist and pay for a bouquet of flowers I expect to get fresh flowers. If I buy a cashmere sweater I expect it to be nice and fluffy.
If in any of these cases I wouldn't get what I paid for I would complain, and in 98% the store manager would give me a refund or replacement.
Not so much with playdom, you pay to be VIP or buy BPs and if anything goes wrong you will not get a decent answer (yep still don't count canned answers as such). Or you're told it's "your" fault like the last excuse for the gifting disaster ..... btw, we had gifting issues way before "we broke a record in sending out gifts" ... oh and we still have problems.

Being a VIP for the Bollywood SA has not been a "Benefit".
Bollywood Tickets do not drop while socializing, so when I started Bollywood I had 11 Tickets. The Passports only starting dropping late in the day, when the VIP Early Access opened...
Now Myspace SL is not working properly. Pages wont load and it is just a mess.
Again, Playdom Rushed this SA and there have been tons of Errors already... I thought Playdom might learn from the previous SA's and take their time with this one. I Guess Not.

I missed this yesterday, but it's not only the tickets, NOTHING absolutely NOTHING goes into the swag!!!
My gifts didn't show up in my swag since last night, just now, I checked how many lipsticks I had, I accepted 4 and guess what????
They went in cyber space, because they sure didn't go into my swag.... I wonder and getting really infuriated right now :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
I DO NOT EVEN WANT TO PLAY until those glitches are solved, this doesn't make any sense absolutely NONE, not that it matters, but I am a VIP and ever since BW opened 24 hours earlier for us, it's one glitch after another constantly!!! There is no way of specifying... BTW, I earned a necklace in the BW quest, which I received, but NOW IT'S GONE, another more specified glitch!!! Oh, and I can't send tickets, because the complaint box isn't there (for me)!!! STILL!!!

I have many times... It just makes sense to fix the issues that are known before releasing a New SA.
They can release a new event on campusor two to keep people happy, but it seems when they do a big release like an SA, everything messes up.

Something that creates strain on PD's servers: Unnecessary page reloads.
We do NOT need the page to completely reload every time we Collect a completed Craft Item in the Design Internship
We do NOT need the page to completely reload every time we complete a Mastery for an Event (in either the Campus or the SA)
We do NOT need the page to completely reload every time we purchase something in the Glam tab (in either the Campus or the SA)
What we do need is for the game to work more smoothly. These refreshes seem to put a strain on the game and delay play.
We also don't need the page to completely reload/refresh EVERY TIME we click Do Event. We just need the status bar to advance. It's a bit ridiculous to have the whole thing refresh!

Since reset, I collected gifts, and yet they are not actually showing in my swag. The system knows I tried to accept them because on Espressos and Milk Tea and Postcards it tells me I can't accept anymore, but it didn't actually credit any of them to me.
I do not care about the escapism of Bollywood when I can't even PLAY. This has been an epic fail.

Since reset, I collected gifts, and yet they are not actually showing in my swag. The system knows I tried to accept them because on Espressos and Milk Tea and Postcards it tells me I can't accept anymore, but it didn't actually credit any of them to me.
I do not care about the escapism of Bollywood when I can't even PLAY. This has been an epic fail.

Yep, so far I had 2 jobs expiring... but hey one improvement I just saw :p ... the 4 lipsticks I was talking about over an hour ago, just showed up in my swag, but not the 15 tickets :rolleyes:
Anyway, that's it for me for today; oh and I noticed my status here on the forum was upgraded from bronze to silver, posting too much? ;)

VIP Items have always been Charm/Pop 35/35 in the past
I will not even bother doing the event for something with such poor stats since it requires about 45 espressos to complete a Road Trip.

None of the gifts I collected overnight have been credited. Ticket sent and no response at all, not even canned response. Can't gift. Can't organize events without tickets. Can't craft without money. Can't fill philanthropy requests. Can't get work visas to open more jobs. Can't collect jobs when "down for maintenance." If SL had glitches but was getting better with each SA I would be encouraging everyone to hang in there. But it's not. It's getting worse with every SA. Time to quit.

No, I would talk about my trip to India or Italy or whatever country I had been criss-crossing. I personally do think that several of the SAs should have been country labeled and not city labeled, including this one. I was just pointing out why these specific cities seem to be attached to this SA. It seems our avis are rich enough and experienced enough to produce a film? OK...? :confused: This seems like the shakiest story of all the SAs so far but that's the logic behind this SA.

Whitney, the gifts are messed up again. :( It appears that you have collected them but they are NOT showing up in the inventory. I got a message I had accepted my allotment of BollyWood tickets yet I am showing NONE in my inventory. I am unable to do anything without tickets. I am on FB and using Chrome. I really hope "the team" is working overtime on this.
For the moment, the gifts appear to be working. I have another issue....it says I have 4 Philanthropy friends helping me but when I go to see who they are it says invite friends or fill with 2 BP's. :( No wonder it is taking me so long to get through this one. ~Sigh~

Same here on the Philanthropy... it is an error. You have the friends helping you but they do not show up when you look.

I found this very odd also. If Charm 10 Pop 7 is correct, your are right it isn't worth wasting the energy to do it. :( I hope it is really 35/35.

Is it intentional that our philanthropy cash is no longer multiplied by the numbers of teams we are on? In Fairyland it was hit and miss, and the numbers never seemed to add up right. In Bollywood, it's not multiplied at all. Not sure if this is a glitch, or just the way things are now.

First, I would like to say that I'm actually really excited about the glam for this study abroad. It isn't the traditional styles we're used to seeing in SL. I love the colorful mixes. I think the accessories are some of the best in recent SA's as well.
As a player above level 200, I really appreciate the fact that these SA's are rolled out quickly. I have no events on campus to master and no glam is released anymore that is purchasable with in-game cash. These SA's give me the chance to earn new glam and keeps the game fun and different enough that I stay interested in playing. I can see how the SA's can be frustrating for players who keep minis. That's a big part of the reason why I don't bother with minis. So I do appreciate the effort to release new content.
However, like many of the players have mentioned, the bugs and glitches make it difficult to not get frustrated with the game. Here are the problems I'm experiencing:
1. I know that you said the gifts will eventually end up in our inventory, but it has been more than a day since I've been able to accept any tickets that have shown up in my inventory. On top of that, sisters send Bollywood tickets but they never make it to my end to accept, delayed swag or not. Because of this, I fear I won't be able to collect tickets to even be credited to me at some point when the glitch is fixed.
2. As other sisters have stated, it would be nice to have a confirmation when canceling or quitting a philanthropy quest. I've gotten used to the fact that the SL page jumps. That doesn't bother me too much. However, leaving or canceling a quest without a confirmation because of the jerky page loads is very frustrating.
3. My Bollywood puzzle, as you've stated, has a few extra pieces that seem to have already been "picked" although I have no extra glam to show for it. I don't have a problem earning the pieces, but when I do have a puzzle piece to claim, I cannot click on the pieces that have already been "picked". If I can't claim the glam under those already "picked" pieces, then that is not a problem that resolves itself.
4. Visas are not going through. No matter how many times I've clicked and copy/pasted the claim reward to prove I've clicked on a visa, it doesn't show on the other person's account, and vice versa.
5. This is not a Bollywood related problem, but I have not been able to load the socialize tab on campus. Each time I click to do an event outside of "Pack for Bollywood" or "Professor Raffle" the page will not load. I've sent in a ticket but got a standard reply that it's something they're working on. While I understand the great demand the techs must be under, I don't understand how this problem can have gone on for weeks with no improvement whatsoever. I want to expel my energy, but the hassle of having to click refresh after each event has kept me from enjoying the game. It's not just the socializing aspect it has dampened. I don't even attempt majors anymore because I don't want to fail a task because I couldn't get a page to load.
I'm sure these are issues that the team is working on, but if the gifts do not show up in our swag, will Playdom credit our accounts after a few days with the tickets we couldn't claim? That seems like a fair solution to me. Will they give each player a few work visas as compensation for the major glitch and frustration?

I understand that higher level players have nothing to accomplish on campus and enjoy SA's and the quick turn around. But It seems that recently everytime a new SA comes out tons of errors follow it.
My Socializing, Fighting and Catwalk Tab started to mess up as soon as the SA Started... They were working fine a few days ago.
I have suggested that instead of rushing the SA, Playdom could add some new Events on Campus or Mini games... It just seems they rush the SA and now we have More Errors...
Perhaps they should fix the known problems before starting a New SA and adding more problems.
I wish Playdom would read these forums and hopefully learns something before they think about releasing a New SA.

Sorry, Sorority Life is temporarily down for maintenance...
On Tagged SL, loading errors all over whole day. Once in the game, events get stucked in loading screens, white feeds etc.
Collecting gifts or joining teams is almost impossible, most of the time maintenance msg..
Sometimes it works few minutes and then its stucked again.. very frustating

!!! Wow. Just. Wow. That takes some gall. I can't even imagine what they must be thinking over there. You already have a forum full of players (who are only just a small portion of the players I'm sure) fussing and fuming over not being able to play with what we already have, adding anything else new until this is resolved is just stupid. But to add something new that begs us to pony up more money!? That's beyond believable. I'm trying to stay calm, rational, patient. Playdom, do you delight in testing me?!

I suggested that they have the BP sales IN BETWEEN SAs to keep people interested in playing.. RIDICULOUS that they have one with so much in the game going wrong. This is obviously a money grab.

Even if this was programmed intentionally like this, that intention should be looked into again and changed back. Pitching in for most sisters now will be only done till they finished all 5 tasks and got all drops one time.
With no cash or IP gain I will stop after that as well.
Normally I would have also fun in helping other players more, but that fun is a bit exhausted...

if anything goes wrong you will not get a decent answer (yep still don't count canned answers as such). Or you're told it's "your" fault like the last excuse for the gifting disaster ..... btw, we had gifting issues way before "we broke a record in sending out gifts" ... oh and we still have problems.
I agree with you completely on this. I have had continuing issues with gifting since before Christmas, when gifts were un-claimable for over 2 weeks and I could not even access the pieces for the holiday collection (which they never even tried to make up for), then supposedly the gifting was fixed ( most of us could at LEAST claim & send gifts again)- yet still to this very day I & a lot of other players often watch the gifts just disappear - sometimes hundreds at a time, vanished! So don't give me any crap about unprecedented gifting activity & shift blame to us when the problem was never actually fixed, just patched over.
I too have programming experience, my BA is in Computer Science and even without viewing the code can identify a quick fix as opposed to a real, line-by-line debugging.. which is long overdue.
I am still waiting to see what they plan to do about the recent 5-day collection- items which were accepted on days 3 & 4 were IN my inventory, and then just VANISHED, and the 5th day item (tights) would say claimed but never showed up as well. (And yes, I KNOW they were/are mistakenly showing up in some player's "clothing" section- THEY ARE NOT IN MINE!) Nor are any of the items available through fb apps & requests.
I spent the majority of this past week right here at my desk cycling through my 10 characters hour-by-hour each day for the collection, and wound up with only 2 of those characters actually getting to complete it. At the last game reset (midnight CST) I claimed my max tickets and energy on my account, and then my daughter logged in and did the same, but after "successfully" claiming the max, we BOTH had 11 tickets credited, and only a portion of the espressos. My sister (separate state, no tech equipment in common) did the same, she was credited w/ only 48 tickets and 9 espressos. For all intents and purposes NOTHING is fixed, they just stuck another piece of duct tape on top of the last piece, as usual, so don't get too comfortable, it won't last long.
I like this game, I really do- when it was working properly it was a lot of fun, and I have made some really good friends through it- the opportunity to spend time with a number of online friends at once via the feed is probably the only REAL reason I am still hanging on...

YEAH, THEY MADE SURE THAT WORKED, DIDN'T THEY? I am still both furious and curious over the removal of collection pieces for days 3 & 4 AFTER they had been viewed in my inventory- several shoes & totes were removed late on day 4, early day 5 so that there was no way to replace those vanishing gifts- and if they think I have any intention of spinning for the missing pieces - which total over 20 separate pieces needed- then boy, they have got life in a blender for sure!

Every Sister that writes on my House's (I have 1242 Sisters) game Feed has confirmed that this error happens for them. We shouldn't have to one-by-one send our info to Whitney to have it fixed - this is happening across the board. FYI, I'm referring to Facebook players.
Also, everyone that's mentioned it has noticed that they can't see who is helping with their Philanthropy. The slots show as unfilled when you view them, telling you to Invite Sisters or to Fill for BPs. I'd like to know who's actually helping.. right now I feel like I'm carrying the one I'm doing on my own and want to see if there's someone I need to boot for someone that will help!

Yes! That was my point in my post about the not anticipating...3 new items (50+25+25=100 gifts) plus the black tights - that's 4 new items released at midnight. Plus the postcards, plus our usual collection of chocs, lippies, & espressos...how could they NOT have anticipated that?

I have a non-SA issue. I've posted about it in the bugs forum and also sent a support ticket - all I got from that was a standard template "we might get round to this sometime within the next century" response. Basically, events won't load. Majors won't load. The only place I can socialise without getting stuck on "loading" is in the SA - oh, and galas and the pack for Bollywood event. Curiously, they work fine, but none of the others do. Someone suggested to remove ad blockers and it worked. But I don't use my own computer and there is no way on Earth I am removing ad blockers and opening my - or anyone else's - computer up to all the nasty stuff that could get through.
Does Playdom WANT to infect our computers with stuff so badly we can't even get online to play? This never used to happen. Someone's messed up somewhere.
What browser/social networking platform are you playing on? Do you clear your cache regularly?

I've never gotten more than 5. I send and return all the time. In the past I've used 5 characters, so that's at least 250 collections per day. If it's from initial sending & not returning, I think I send about 3-5 per day. So that should be 8-10 I get. Never have.

Can anything be done about the number of in game pop-ups? One with every click or sometimes more than one per click is really annoying and does nothing but slow our game down.

I hope the people that work for Playdom NEVER complain about anything that an unscrupulous, careless, thoughtless service provider does while they smile and take their money.... Just remember that Karma will eventually come back on all of the people that work for Playdom that have low standards and think that what they give us is "good enough" ...... some time one of them will need a limo for their wedding or their kids prom and it will show up 5 hrs late or they will rearrange their schedule for an appointment only to get there and find out that there was a "miscommunication" and they will be told to come back in week, they will show up at a tropical resort and find out that the room they thought was luxury has no air conditioning. Karma will get these people eventually.

5. This is not a Bollywood related problem, but I have not been able to load the socialize tab on campus. Each time I click to do an event outside of "Pack for Bollywood" or "Professor Raffle" the page will not load. I've sent in a ticket but got a standard reply that it's something they're working on. While I understand the great demand the techs must be under, I don't understand how this problem can have gone on for weeks with no improvement whatsoever. I want to expel my energy, but the hassle of having to click refresh after each event has kept me from enjoying the game. It's not just the socializing aspect it has dampened. I don't even attempt majors anymore because I don't want to fail a task because I couldn't get a page to load.
I'm sure these are issues that the team is working on, but if the gifts do not show up in our swag, will Playdom credit our accounts after a few days with the tickets we couldn't claim? That seems like a fair solution to me. Will they give each player a few work visas as compensation for the major glitch and frustration?

First of all, thank you for all of your feedback and PMs regarding Philanthropy. We have someone working diligently on the issue as we speak. While the messaging in-game may be a bit vague, it is my hope to alter this so that you will know specifically the reason why you are unable to join a Philanthropy.
Some of these reasons include:
-it may be full
-a Sister may have sent you multiple requests, and you may already be on the team
-the Philanthropy might be canceled
-if you are kicked off of a Philanthropy team, you cannot rejoin, but lingering multiples of these invitations might still reside in your inbox
I have taken all of your feedback about SA cadence to heart and completely see where you are coming from. I apologize on behalf of Playdom for this frustration.
In addition, your feedback about specific design elements of the location, such as the colors and background, were very helpful.

I also did not say that all Gifts would eventually end up back in your inventory. I said that the new fix implemented MAY cause a lag. It seemed that the initial fix did not work. Another one of you asked if I play the game, and if I played the game, I would see the issues. I am a daily player, and I relay any and all issues I encounter in my own game diligently to the team. Despite this, as we all know, not every issue will make its way into everyone's game! :p
I have repeatedly reported the page jumping and attack button issues. Thanks for letting me know these are still happening.
A fix for the stats in the Tie Front Blouse and Denim Skirt reward for Mt. Shasta should be expected very soon.
Work visas seem to be a recurring issue with SAs, I will ask the team to take another look into this.

For MY GAME, it seems that the Bollywood tickets seem to be finally crediting, however, it doesn't seem like the rest of the swag items are. I know you said there may be a delay, but I really sincerely hope that this issue gets addressed once and for all, because as we saw with the last sa and the lack of gifts for two weeks, having a key component of the game broken puts everything at a stand still. As both a socializer AND fighter, I NEED those items to keep my game going.
I really hope this gets addressed, and quickly.

Writing up detailed reports of problems is what some companies pay testers to do. Playdom wants to put out untested or poorly tested code and then have US do the testing and reporting. I'd be happy to apply for the position of tester and get paid to do the job. How is it possible that they did any testing and there are this many problems?
I love this from Whitney ...your feedback about specific design elements of the location, such as the colors and background, were very helpful. .... so the developers at Playdom are blind? Why does anyone have to tell anyone that white letters on a pink background is hard to read..... I am getting really really frustrated at the total lack of reality. Most of the problems are impacting ALL of us...... the jumping screen when voting and the way that Majors will NEVER give you the "B" exclusive glam unless you get a B the first time you do the course have been going on for months. How come they have not been addressed yet? We have reported these problems and if Whitney is really a daily player like the rest of us she should know how annoying it is.... what good is reporting problems when they never get fixed anyway?

Sisters are currently reporting that the Visa issue is still not working. When we collect a visa from FB, it's not crediting that it's been collected.
E.g., my post help for visas. My daughter accepts from her FB feed. She gets the Congrats You've Helped msg, copies/pastes it to my FB post so I know it's been collected. However, when I refresh my page (soft & hard refreshes), it isn't decreasing by a count of 1. And I haven't reached my daily limit of 10.

Please specify in what timeline your thinking here.
I claimed sets of 5 gifts:
1 set: none after 0 sec, none after 30 secs, all there after 45 sec
2 set: directly there
3 set: 5 minutes or more before they appeared
4 set: 20-30 secs
5 set: NEVER'
etc.
Finally maxed out and seems that I got the 250 tickets.
But maybe not, lost count, and few minutes later could claim ALL again, and were even credited...
Yup. Got at least 520 tickets eventually.
So thx... but it took me hours, so did NOT switch any avi.
I rather have it working normally. I dont need the extra, I want the right numbers in a right time frame. A "delay" should mean max 10sec...

I play on MySpace and was finally able to get into SL about 2 hours ago and I changed characters 1 hour and 7 minutes ago and all I can get is Sorority Life is down for maintenance again after it being down most of the day except for a few minutes here and there. Do I have any hope of it being back up today or should I once again just give up on it?

You are right! I hard refreshed about 10 mins later & they were there! Went to my main & collected. About 10-min delay. But it does seem to be eventually adding. Only checked tix though.
Also on a positive note...my visa problem worked out...there is a delay, and there needs to be a hard refresh (browser, not in-game), and I am finally seeing the numbers go down! OMG I am so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't gotten the chance to look through all of this thread but I did see on this page a mention of work visas. I only saw it mentioning visas not crediting...and so I'm sorry if this has been mentioned, but I don't have the request button for visas. I have another slot to open and it still says 15 more visas but I don't have the option to request :(

I've never gotten more than 5. I send and return all the time. In the past I've used 5 characters, so that's at least 250 collections per day. If it's from initial sending & not returning, I think I send about 3-5 per day. So that should be 8-10 I get. Never have.
Same thing for me, both rmlawson4 and I stated this yesterday, since the "bonus" for sending was first offered I have sent tickets beyond counting. Sent them from the SA box as well as the regular gifting page, they have been accepted by house members. NEVER EVER EVER gotten any more than the 5 daily. Twice now both of us have stated this in this forum...
I see a lot of creative maneuvering in what issues are getting a response and which ones are being gracefully kicked under the bed- let me tell you something, there is NO MORE ROOM UNDER THE BED!!

I find it hilarious that you chose this as your gold star of the day, was probably constructed by a Playdom employee if truth be told. How is this person even able to perform any of the activities in the SA when there is a gifting meltdown & no tickets, crafting items, energy, etc.. can be collected? Or does this player just happen to have an SL fairy perched on her desk? I thought this sounded phony last night and still do. A summary of this letter would read as follows -
"Golly gee, the following five issues have brought all gameplay to a screeching halt, but I am having so much fun just sitting here NOT collecting gifts, visas, etc. NOT socializing, crafting, or completing philanthropy- YES, I am having SO MUCH FUN!"

HARD REFRESH AND CLEARING OF CACHE DID NOT WORK IN CHROME, CLOSED COMPLETELY & CHECKED IN BOTH FIREFOX AND OPERA, STILL SAYS I NEED ONE MORE.
Nothing being said about the gifting meltdown and its effect on the 5-day collection (ie: couldn't complete it) - any chance of them running it again or at least opening up the option for us to request the "stolen" items & the tights we could not claim from our house-mates?

I, too appreciate this post, this is the kind of information we need to hear, and expect to hear when we file support tickets as well. Thank you Whitney for this clear and concise reply to most of the issues. I will be the first to admit I have been less than gracious in my posts over the past couple of days, but frankly I am still very angry that these same issues have been affecting us for months and that they were allowed to escalate to this point before being addressed. Earlier today I reviewed every support ticket I submitted since the creation of the new forum, and it is disheartening to see gift issues being reported as long as 6 months ago, and not only unresolved but allowed to grow to what we saw this week. I am still furious that not one word has been said about Playdom's intentions regarding the 5-day collection- this week's issues completely destroyed that collection for 8 of my 10 characters, this happening so soon after getting shafted on the Holiday collection- and I DID get shafted. My failure to complete the Holiday collection was NOT because I didn't claim before the day's gifts expired, it was because I could not collect A SINGLE GIFT during that time frame. Basically, I was told "too bad so sad"- don't want to see that again.

Gifting is still a mess. I went to collect crafting items (beads don't seem to be popular in my House for some reason) and accidentally clicked on some Postcards and Tickets in my haste. I was allowed to "accept" and "return" them. HOWEVER, none of the items went into my Swag. The beads didn't appear for me to be able to craft, nor was anything else actually credited. I posted about it on my Feed and had at least three other Sisters pipe up and say the same thing happened to them, and others are commenting independently that it's occurring to them, as well.
PHILANTHROPY.
I'm still seeing every other comment on my Feed as "Oops, I just accidentally quit a (or two, or three, or six) Philanthropy" - this is a HUGE problem. We need a confirmation pop up! It's a little ridiculous to be penalized for an accidental removal by being unable to rejoin if a Sister has sent you multiple help Requests.
Sisters that have space available in their Philanthropy are having errors where other Sisters are not able to join, despite there being space. Earlier I had this issue, where I was only helping 6 Philanthropies, a Sister sent me a Request for her brand new Philanthropy, and I was told that I was Unable to Join. She's a Friend on my Facebook, she's definitely in my House, we both showed that we had the space for it, and should I have been able to accept the Request. This does not fall under the neat categories for why it wouldn't work.

My Kitten Heels were removed from the inventory of at least 3 of my characters. The Black Tights disappeared from the Closet/Glam of all but one of my characters.
Day 4 and 5 really ought to at least be re-released to make up for the errors.

Here's one I haven't seen mentioned, and this is the Facebook version.
The points I get doing philanthropy is showing up in the IM stats, but the completed philanthropies are not showing up in the IM stats - they are only showing up on the SA achievement badge. Are they only going to count there?
Also, I'm one of the people that have accidently quit teams after I got the goals to 98% complete. I left the game completely frustrated last night after I realized I had quit 3 teams, and I haven't done anything in the game since.

Now it would be lovely if the same standard would apply to communication from playdom to us (customer service and you too).
One of the not addressed points now, and it has been brought up several times, is that we can't see who accepted our quests. This was always possible in the past but seems not to work on this one.

Ditto! And while I am also clicking fast, the following game-related factors are also responsible-
1. If you are using the Popularity button, that final click (the one that tells you confidence or stamina have gotten too low) will land you directly on the quit button for the first person in line below you.
2. The screen jumping constantly makes it difficult to keep a close eye on both progress and stat damage. In order to stop the jumping screen, see my stats, click & monitor the first space under mine, I have to reduce my screen to 67%, at that percentage I can't see any of the numbers in my stats- and the eyestrain gives me a headache.
On the positive side, I DO like the way the goals you are assisting rotate with every click. That helps us monitor the progress without having to stop and scroll down the list, makes it much easier to claim on finished ones & get the next request accepted.

You are right! I hard refreshed about 10 mins later & they were there! Went to my main & collected. About 10-min delay. But it does seem to be eventually adding. Only checked tix though.
Also on a positive note...my visa problem worked out...there is a delay, and there needs to be a hard refresh (browser, not in-game), and I am finally seeing the numbers go down! OMG I am so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whitney, thanks for the partial feedback on all open questions on this thread. It's cute that you picked the well written and very detailed statement as an example.
Now it would be lovely if the same standard would apply to communication from playdom to us (customer service and you too).
One of the not addressed points now, and it has been brought up several times, is that we can't see who accepted our quests. This was always possible in the past but seems not to work on this one.

It has happened to me,too. It is really annoying. All I do is pitching and then I accidentally quit team because the "quit this team" button goes up suddenly.

I was just now leisurely clicking Pitch In and the screen jumped and I accidentally Quit Team for a Sister that I'd helped to bring up to 87% complete. Needless to say, I'm quite displeased.

I assure you, I'm a real person and not affiliated with Playdom at all. I never said I was having fun with this study abroad. I said I like the glam I've seen. I stated my issues with the game in a constructive manner. I'm having the same trouble as everyone else.
Same thing for me, both rmlawson4 and I stated this yesterday, since the "bonus" for sending was first offered I have sent tickets beyond counting. Sent them from the SA box as well as the regular gifting page, they have been accepted by house members. NEVER EVER EVER gotten any more than the 5 daily. Twice now both of us have stated this in this forum...
I see a lot of creative maneuvering in what issues are getting a response and which ones are being gracefully kicked under the bed- let me tell you something, there is NO MORE ROOM UNDER THE BED!!
I find it hilarious that you chose this as your gold star of the day, was probably constructed by a Playdom employee if truth be told. How is this person even able to perform any of the activities in the SA when there is a gifting meltdown & no tickets, crafting items, energy, etc.. can be collected? Or does this player just happen to have an SL fairy perched on her desk? I thought this sounded phony last night and still do. A summary of this letter would read as follows -
"Golly gee, the following five issues have brought all gameplay to a screeching halt, but I am having so much fun just sitting here NOT collecting gifts, visas, etc. NOT socializing, crafting, or completing philanthropy- YES, I am having SO MUCH FUN!"
Come on, get real.
I have needed ONE visa for over 2 hours, have had sisters tell me they clicked, seen the confirmation message posted, and even logged off my account and physically watched both my daughter and husband click, seen the message that they had helped and claimed the rupees, BOTH of them- yet when I logged back in I still needed 1 more visa. HARD REFRESH AND CLEARING OF CACHE DID NOT WORK IN CHROME, CLOSED COMPLETELY & CHECKED IN BOTH FIREFOX AND OPERA, STILL SAYS I NEED ONE MORE.
Nothing being said about the gifting meltdown and its effect on the 5-day collection (ie: couldn't complete it) - any chance of them running it again or at least opening up the option for us to request the "stolen" items & the tights we could not claim from our house-mates?

If we have to put in an additional effort to be clearer I'm ok with that but at this point I do expect the same from playdom/Whitney. If we ask a question a simple "I'll pass it on" and then for weeks no updates won't do. And I really really recommend that the customer service "answers" get an overhaul.
Yes English is not the first language for everyone (me included, mine is German) on top of that I would appreciate if the Wednesdays with Whitney could start at a time where Europe is not sleeping. I know she made some effort a while ago and that was very considered.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they're knowingly keeping the glitch so that their servers or whatever don't crash again. There are some players that stuff actually works for them and PD is gonna squeeze them for all they can get.

In the last SA (and perhaps even 2 or more of the previous SAs) when you tried to accept a request for a Philanthropy team you would get 1 of 3 specific messages if you were unable to accept the request. 1) The team was full. 2) you were already on the team. 3) you were already in the max number of allowed tasks. For this SA you just get the generic "unable to join philanthropy"...... why would you think it was a good idea to be less specific?

Why do you have to "see what you can do" to make it up to VIPs for giving us "early access" to a SA that didn't work. Isn't that one of the perks of being a VIP? If we aren't actually getting what Playdom advertises as a perk isn't that a problem and don't we deserve some kind of gesture of good will from the people that happily take our money once a month?

2. The screen jumping constantly makes it difficult to keep a close eye on both progress and stat damage. In order to stop the jumping screen, see my stats, click & monitor the first space under mine, I have to reduce my screen to 67%, at that percentage I can't see any of the numbers in my stats- and the eyestrain gives me a headache.
On the positive side, I DO like the way the goals you are assisting rotate with every click. That helps us monitor the progress without having to stop and scroll down the list, makes it much easier to claim on finished ones & get the next request accepted.

i think everyone has the bollywood issues well covered so i wanted to bring up some problems not related to the SA:
1. IMs won't load or take several minutes to load;
2. i am still missing VIP and heart to heart glam and have submitted a ticket and not received a response about this and i know several others have had the VIP glam missing issues as well. it has been over three days since i submitted this ticket which i believe is the time frame for ticket response we were promised if i'm not mistaken;
3. sisters are still auto-readded back to the house after you boot them if either person accepts a gift from the other. with so many gifts back and forth, it is impossible to keep an unwanted player out and i expect playdom to protect players from inappropriate content (which is one purpose of the remove sister feature);
4. feed is still going blank; and
5. attack again button is still disappearing.

THIS^!!!! Yes, this is EXACTLY how my 2 "quits" happened. As soon as I got too low on conf, the page landed directly on the Quit the Team button just as I clicked again and the clicks caught up.
Since all this page jumping/hopping started, I've been playing SL at varying levels of in-browser decreased percentage. For instance, when voting for all my house, I decrease my Chrome browser to 67%. It will bounce a few times, then finally land & stick towards the bottom, so I can vote at 67% w/my mouse in 1 spot. (If I miss sisters, I have to hard refresh for it to work again or it really bounces everywhere when I go back to vote.)
I've been using 75% for Phils...if I line up the page correctly, that's where I can see the stamina decreasing while clicking on Pitch In with Popularity w/o moving my mouse.
Depending on which social events I'm doing & what I want to see as rewards, I use 75% or 90%. I NEVER play the game in 100% anymore. If I do, when I click a button, the page realigns back to the top, making me scroll down again to click the button. I use 90% for events I am trying to get through, and 75% for things like Pack for <S.A.>, where if 2 bonuses pop up, I can see if one is the outfit.
An annoying issue for sure, but since it wasn't fixed in a week or two, I've developed new game play habits since what, November? Still, I might have to change my habits YET AGAIN w/this S.A., since it seems adding in a confirmation to quit a team isn't likely to happen. I'm not even thinking the jumping will be fixed. It's been months and it's obviously not a priority. :(

I was a religious player for two years. VIP as well. I stopped playing right after I finished London. I was exhausted from the continuous work of this game, the constant glitches, the crappy craft bonus drop rates. I never went to Moscow, I never went to fairytale land and it looks like I won't be going to Bollywood either. It's clear nothing has changed since I left and I have missed nothing. On the flip side, I have picked up a wonderful new hobby (has nothing to do with any game on the internet) and I love it!

I love the clear cache comment. SL players have the cleanest cache from all game players I think. Although cache has influences, is affecting updates: good programming can bypass this. And all SL players know that 99% of mentioned problems on a certain platform (FB in my case) is NOT solved by clearing cache, and for me: when I state a problem I already tried it under Chrome, IE and Mozilla. Again: most problems are NOT browser related...
And for to see who is in your team: Mostly if I click the in game refresh, wait for another 5 seconds not doing anything, and than click the team button they appear after another second or 2.
So this mostly is a loading problem. And the programmers cannot solve this because they cannot reproduce this: their in company fast connection cannot be compared with Live normal internet.
Maybe they should do their testing on a dial-up connection. Than they would see for themselves where the (loading related) problems are.
Whitney plays the game herself. Maybe programmers should also obligatory have to play the game for at least half an hour per day....

I, along with many others I'm sure, are wondering exactly when will the gifting be fixed?
We can send as many gifts as we want, but if they are not being placed in our inventory, they may as well not send any because it basically has the same effect.
I need my espresso's, lipsticks, and chocolate bars to advance.
When will this be fixed?

After all the craziness of the last few days, things in the SA are working fine for me now. I'm able to receive all my gifts without problems and I am enjoying Bollywood immensely - the glam is the best of any SA I've seen and so gorgeous. Personally, I don't mind ending the SA with extra puzzle pieces at all now

2 Suggestions:
1. Remove philanthropy bonus swag such as the simosa. It takes two extra clicks to use it. People are better off using those two clicks on a lipstick (which we have unlimited) and get a greater benefit.
2. Remove the pop up that happens when you complete jobs that allows us to bonus a bonus to someone else's wall for them to collect a philanthropy bonus swag. See #1 that these swag are worthless. It just ends up being swag. People can only collect 10 bonuses a day, and during SA's those tend to be Work Visas or Work Recovery.

I feel the idea of Philanthropy swag is a lame. You can use that swag in only specific SA.
In Bollywood, you can't use Moscow or London swag.
It doesn't help in Campus IM either.
Why should bother to draw 4 useless stuff for every SA where people prefer lipsticks and choco bars?
