Happy Leap Year! :cool: As today is not a "real" day, you're probably not experiencing any "real" issues, right? (JK!!!)

So the location is winding down to a close, and we're gearing up for our next stop. As per many of your requests, we took extra time preparing this one, ironing out many of the issues you reported throughout the last few Study Abroad locations.

My sincerest apologies for the recent VIP billing issues... I encouraged the team to expedite this issue as quickly as possible.

To clarify my comments from last week about what type of content is appropriate for this thread: I am not discouraging reports of issues you have noticed in your account but are unsure whether they are affecting the community at large. If, however, you bring up an issue on this thread and I request you to either PM me with more information or file a ticket, it is safe to say that it is time to take this issue off the thread and into the customer support realm due to its specificity to a single user's account. Thank you so much for understanding this. It's all in an effort to maintain decorum here on the forum!

So, as the dust settles at the conclusion of this current location, are there any issues I should escalate this week?

I just wanted to point out that I am VIP and have not had any problems socializing on campus and neither have any of my VIP sisters that I have talked with in case this might in some way be helpful to the team in solving the problem that is not letting non VIP players socialize on campus. TY.

This issue comes up on a daily basis on my feed, even zooming out helps only a bit. And for people who have sight issues it's not acceptable to go down to 67% in the hope it's less jumpy.

As my fellow programmers would say: ANYTHING is possible.
It just is an issue how much time & effort you want to put into it. If that is a lot of time, than it at least shows the importance of (technically) preventing an error choice like this in the future..

In this case all the affected people :
- have the formerly exclusive glam
&
- have it since the holiday countdown.
So a smart select SHOULD give info who are the people which it affects, so that they CAN be rewarded a new exclusive glam. Depending on the info in the SL database(s) that info would either be available in the live database, or in a backup database from before the problems.
If "the team" (gosh, how I dislike that phrase) REALLY technically can not solve this, than I fear for the conclusion that back-up data is not available?

I want to assure you that the team takes responsibility for this error on their part, and understands your frustration. Most of you have noticed that there are two different versions of this item available in the game, and because of this error, one of them was mistakenly released. Exclusive items from special collections and in game events will continue to be exclusive, and in no way did the team mean to diminish the value of the prize from the Holiday Countdown.

The team is currently working on a special (exclusive) item to be credited to those players that had previously earned the dress from the Holiday Countdown event in order to make up for this mistake. I hope that this item will be something that you enjoy, and my apologies again for this!

(Note: Please don't send in a support ticket for this. The new item will be automatically credited to your account in the next few days, and I will announce when that happens so you can watch for it.)

I think the same. With over 2 years I played this game, many big issues are ignored by "the team" will be ignored later on by the players.
I'm not surprised if Playdom exploits this.

Glad to hear that the team is at least trying to work out the wrinkles from the next SA before releasing it. I'm not holding my breath that there won't be glitches, but at least Playdom is acknowledging they need to take their time to release these things versus shoving them out the door full of glitches.

You can count me among very disappointed that Playdom will not be doing anything to truly rectify the BP exclusive and Holiday Countdown items being released in 2BP fortune wheels. Sure it likely takes most players much more than 2 BPs to get these items, but that's not the point. The point is there has been an established precedent that these items would be exclusive and only available through one time offers which so far have required extra money/effort to acquire. The "mistake" of putting exclusive BP items in the fortune wheel has happened multiple times and multiple times Playdom has done nothing more than take the items out of the wheel following a few days of forum outrage. Truthfully I think the ones who will be hurt the most will be Playdom. By removing the 'exclusivity' of these items that will only discourage many players from putting out the money up front to get the items when they are first "exclusively" released. Sure there will always be some hard core collectors who bite on every offer. But Playdom is driving away many of the more casual players. I admit I even bought one of the recent house mom BP package specials so I could get a glam item I really wanted. But given the possibility of BP exclusive items not staying exclusive, I won't be doing that again.

Also do you have any word on whether the capelet will be moved back to neckwear? It is still an extra right now and that is still a stupid place to put it. It really hinders using it sensibly with many outfits since as an extra it can be used with the necklaces, most of which it just covers up and it cannot be used with purses, umbrellas, swords, fans, and any other such item we can hold in our hands, which BTW it won't cover up... Please please please can you pester the team to put it back in neckwear where it was originally?

The same jumping screen problem goes for the burn list screen. I can't hunt (the primary reason I still play SL) without the screen bouncing up and down! It's beyond frustrating and honestly I'm not playing as much as I used to because of it.

The good news on this is "the team" is aware of this problem for months, so it will probably be addressed at some point this year

And what about the two exclusive hair's that was put in the wheel too? People paid for them, ya know (myself included). The chic up do and the hair with flowers (i forgot the name on the game, but i'm pretty sure you know what i'm talking about). No care or precaution has been taken to make sure that things like that didn't happen again and all I (and many others) want is for you and Playdom to stand behind your own promise to keep Exclusive items exclusive.

They are talking about the outfit that shows up as the "featured item" when you go to the Style Upgrade Tab. It is called "PLAIN TOP AND SKIRT" and it's a long sleeve white top with a short blue skirt. It does not drop from events like the other outfits that you can upgrade and on Facebook it only shows up via Newsfeed posts. You have to claim one from a post published by one of your sisters. This is not a big deal for Facebook players like me that have lots of sisters that post lots of bonuses but for people on other platforms or on Facebook with very small houses it is impossible to get the outfit to even begin the upgrade.

Whether the prior issue was a duplicated dress the issue was they put the dress in a wheel when it was supposed to be exclusive to the Holiday Countdown. PD fixed that issue by giving us a new dress, along with a very nice apology, something that PD does NOT do very often, IF AT ALL, and now they do it again, and refuse to fix it?

The issue is the same here, Whitney, and PD SHOULD do something to fix it, instead of just taking off the items in question. People who did not participate in the Holiday Countdown, SHOULD NOT have items that those who did have. Plain and Simple.

While it could stand to reason that the wheel took more than one spin to achieve, there are SOME people who do get lucky and get the items they want the most in one spin. It's happened to me before so I am positive it happened to others. How exactly is spending way more than 2BP's for exclusive glam fair against those who only spent 2?

I seriously don't get the business practice of PD at all. On the one hand, they have some very popular games, and on other, do things that are incredibly shady and make me question how in the world the game is continuing to be lucrative enough to keep PD from pulling it. *smh* It would be a very good business move if PD recognizes their mistakes and actually DOES something to CORRECT THEM and prevent them happening the past. This game is so mismanaged.

Also, to touch on something in your original post, I'd like to get an explanation from you on how does banning a player from ONE PD game in order to get a bonus click for another PD game, NOT affect the community at large? Whitney, one of our own was BANNED from a game for NO OTHER REASON than to collect a bonus click for the M&W, a mini game for SL. City of Wonder, yet ANOTHER PD game, does the same thing. This needs to be addressed. Whats not to say that won't happen to me, or to you, or to anyone else for that matter? If ONE CS group can ban a player for not actively playing their game, but rather get a bonus click, then we have a serious problem here, and it DOES affect the community at large.

While the game in question is not really your territory, the issue remains, allow us to play the M&W as its meant to be played, or take it down. Really, does PD expect us to play each and every game they own? Don't you think that is a bit of unrealistic expectation if they do think that? I've tried playing other PD games, they don't interest me. Getting an extra click to obtain glam for a game that does? I would totally do. I SHOULDN'T get banned for it!

Finally, when PD decided to add study abroads to the SL game, I was intrigued, because I felt at the time of the Paris release that they it was something new, and exciting, and... different from what the game had provided until then. NOW, however many SA's later, I lost track because there is so many, it feels like.. a chore. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the SA's in theory, but over the course of them, they have just done but add fuel to an already burning fire, back to back, and NOW overlapping with no break in between. What happened to them being something different and exciting? Instead of being something to look forward to, to give us a break from the campus events, they are now becoming the norm.

I'm tired. I'd really like to see PD just.. take a break from rolling out these SA's and get back to the basics. Add events to campus, take the very much needed time to fix the BASE game. I'm sure the SA's are a money grabber for PD, but so would fixing the base game and trying to bring back the MANY players SL lost because of the sheer lack of communication from PD to the general consumer.

Exclusive means that the item will ONLY be available once.

I don't know about the Holiday Countdown, but i want the two prizes regarding both BP offers (the updo and the other hair) that was put on the wheel. I paid real money to get the BP's AND the EXCLUSIVE glam, so, damn yeah, i want another reward since everyone that tried the wheel could have it too. It take it away the exclusivity, that for me, is all the matters. This is not something i bought with my within game cash (or bp's i've earned). It's something i bought with my REAL money, so, yeah, i want a compensation for PD mistake. I don't really care how this is going to roll... So for our use, to put it simply, limited edition items are there in not only limited quantities but for a limited time as well, ie the Limited Boutique. Exclusive offered for one time event, ie the Holiday Countdown. Which means, ANY item rewarded from the holiday countdown should NOT have been released. Believe me, I pitched a FIT when I saw that the LE glam from the Holiday Countdown was put up in the VB. However because it was limited edition and NOT exclusive as say the final prize and other items, PD reserves the right to release it again, no matter how much later, as they see fit.

Exclusive items were supposed to be given to ONLY those who participated in the countdown. Those items should not be in any 2BP gala wheel, the vintage boutique, or any other second chance type event. They were there ONLY for the Holiday Countdown. Therefore, we do have a right to be upset because in order to collect all the exclusive items we paid for the BP's to participate and in return were given EXCLUSIVE items, Limited Edition items, and other items.

What I don't understand is why people don't seem to understand WHY WE are upset about this. It's a game, you play your way, we play our way and if we are promised exclusive items, meaning that those items are not given to the general population, for our participation, then PD should HONOR that contract and keep those items out of a 2bp gala! Bottom line.

Whitney, I really don't see how this is ANY different than the dress issue was. PD put the exact shoes in the wheel that were exclusive to the holiday countdown. There should be a remedy because NOW those shoes mean NOTHING.

And I have a Linguistics degree, but schooling really isn't important in this conversation. I don't think the issue is really "limited" versus "exclusive," although the terms do have different connotations. ("Exclusive" is definitely a stronger term than "limited.") The issue is that the first time something like this happened, Playdom owned up to the mistake and compensated those who were affected. That meant that players expected that it wouldn't happen again, and if it did, there would again be compensation. It's a reasonable assumption, in my opinion. I don't know what's going on at Playdom and why they're refusing to own up to the mistake this time around, but I really hope that they take their customers into consideration and realize that whenever previously "exclusive" glam becomes available to the general public, it has lost its exclusivity and those who paid for that exclusivity will be less likely to do so in the future.

The difference is that it isn't comparable to any item in the 12 bp galas. The exclusive holiday countdown prizes (the final shoes, dress, and bag) are like the final prize for collecting all the items in a 12 bp gala. Would people be irate if those showed up again later? You betcha they would. So, yeah, it is a big deal.

I too fail to see how this situation is different from the last time this happened. They released the exclusive outfit, pulled it from the VB, and gave a new one to everyone who had earned it originally. The only difference this time is that the shoes were in a fortune wheel instead of the VB. Whitney, could you please further explain (if you are allowed to)?

Perhaps you don't understand what people are trying to say.
Even if both words "exclusive" and "limited edition" have exact same meaning, then this isn't the case for this scenario
The items from Holiday Countdown are gotten by buying 4 LE Glam which many people may not want to buy it.
How can it compare with simple LE Glam?

Not only the Holiday Countdown. Two BP offer glam was put into the wheel too, and we (people who actually bought the offer with real money) want a compensate for that. So for our use, to put it simply, limited edition items are there in not only limited quantities but for a limited time as well, ie the Limited Boutique. Exclusive offered for one time event, ie the Holiday Countdown. Which means, ANY item rewarded from the holiday countdown should NOT have been released. Believe me, I pitched a FIT when I saw that the LE glam from the Holiday Countdown was put up in the VB. However because it was limited edition and NOT exclusive as say the final prize and other items, PD reserves the right to release it again, no matter how much later, as they see fit.

Exclusive items were supposed to be given to ONLY those who participated in the countdown. Those items should not be in any 2BP gala wheel, the vintage boutique, or any other second chance type event. They were there ONLY for the Holiday Countdown. Therefore, we do have a right to be upset because in order to collect all the exclusive items we paid for the BP's to participate and in return were given EXCLUSIVE items, Limited Edition items, and other items.

What I don't understand is why people don't seem to understand WHY WE are upset about this. It's a game, you play your way, we play our way and if we are promised exclusive items, meaning that those items are not given to the general population, for our participation, then PD should HONOR that contract and keep those items out of a 2bp gala! Bottom line.

Whitney, I really don't see how this is ANY different than the dress issue was. PD put the exact shoes in the wheel that were exclusive to the holiday countdown. There should be a remedy because NOW those shoes mean NOTHING.

yes it's their game, and WE are their PAYING customers. I'm sorry but when you make a purchase that you are told is exclusive to the time of your particular purchase and it's later re-released, that is a breach of your purchase agreement. Don't call an item exclusive if you aren't going to uphold it's exclusivity. PD lied plain and simple, if it was an error, like many other game companies out there, they would correct their mistake by offering a replacement item, PD doesn't feel it's necessary to uphold their word.... Their game or not, they are offering a service and are reneging on their agreements of paid purchases.

I don't think Whitney is taking the brunt of PDs actions due to her being the barer of bad news, it's her selective acknowledgement of the issues that are brought to her attention that angers people. For example, one poster brings up this particular issue, re releases of exclusive glam, the next poster says they are having issues with IMs or gifts, Whitney then skips over the first post completely, without acknowledging it at all and replies to the second issue. THAT is what she is getting flack for, not PDs problems but her selectively addressing issues we have. While I don't think any of the holiday countdown or BP exclusive items should have been released later in the VB (different name or not) or BP wheels/galas I do think the VB itself is a different sort of beast from the galas. Not that that excuses Playdom from pulling a "we won't do anything about it and we're hiding behind the idea that this is different from our previous mistake/real reconciliation issue" but I think the distinction bijoukira made was necessary.

Small issue compared to the others, but could you tell the team that its necessary to have the whole glam page refresh (and reset to the formal section of clothing) when I buy or sell glam? It makes it really difficult for me to check my glam for unnecessary duplicates and or omissions. People got the final dress, with the bag and shoes, and after PD screw, they got another dress. I'm sorry but if you walk into Walmart and see an item on the shelf for half the price that you paid for it the week before, that was marked down half price when you bought it, and demand that they compensate you the difference because its not fair, you bought it at an exclusive price and then they offered it for a better deal, they are gonna laugh at you and say, sweetheart, we have a business to run. They are probably going to tell you to think of it this way. What would have happened if you had said, no, I'mma wait for a better discount. You return later hoping for that discount only to find that it never came, because enough people thought the first discount was good enough and bought them all up. You complain to the manager and you get told, "Well, you had the choice to decide not to get it the first time around. We never said or guaranteed that the item would make it to the second round of discounts. We are sorry." It happens time and time again with the end of the year sale. People wait to get an item they really want, hoping that they can get it cheaper at the end of the year, only to be disappointed because that item was never selected to put on sale. You either get the item or don't. Its a gamble. You have found out now that Playdom isn't guaranteeing that your item will not be marked down later on anymore. So at this point, suck it up, buy it the first time around or gamble with chances and luck and Playdom and hope that it will come around a second time at a discounted price somewhere in the game, whether 2bp galas, the wheel, or the VB. I'm still waiting on that TRON outfit. I took the gamble with that, its been over 2 years I believe and despite the demand for it, we have yet to see it... so...

Not sure how much carefully you read each page of each WwW thread but what you said above isn't completely true.
Perhaps you need to go back to check the gap between the 1st time this issue was raise and the 1st time Whitney addressed it.
It maybe what Whitney intended to do or Playdom asked her to ignore, but there is a long gap between these 2 things

The Walmart examples you noted doesn't reflect this issue

For me this "Pack for" event is an integral part of new SA Bollywood.
You said it was tested thoroughly.
Lol. EVERYTIME the pack for outfit starts with 1/1 stats, and it has to be fixed.

All die-hard addicts also seem to have list or a good memory about which items where (in whatever way) issued as being "exclusive".
Seems PD needs to add an extra column in their glam-database for internal use only: "reusable yes/no" (for raffles,wheels, vintage glam etc).....

haha well actually, I was being general, Yes I DO read the whole thread, I'm not usually the one asking questions because they are brought up way before I make my way here, but I was speaking as a whole on the posters that are usually active in this (WwW) thread. So, you must be the one that doesn't read the whole thread because every Wednesday important issues are brought up ( just not by ME) and every week it takes them being quoted or posted about multiple times by others, to even have her address the issue, and that is rarely on the first page of the thread. She starts off all gun-ho about some new feature or thing in the game and then continues to answer the 'easy' questions. Whether it's her decision to skip certain topics or issues or not, she's the one that is here to answer to us so she is the one to face the music of her and /or PD decisions. And I'm sorry but your Walmart example made no sense at all, this would be a better example... Dior offers an exclusive make up bag when you purchase their $50 perfume with an ad stating "only available with the purchase of _ _ _ perfume" A month later they sell the bag on the shelf for $9.99, but that doesn't happen, you know why? I understand the gifting issue on FaceBook... I am on Myspace. The gifting issue on FB took too long to fix and a lot of players suffered because of it.

But, the Point I am making is that VIP's get early access to SA's and without a Passport it wont matter... I was not saying that being a VIP should allow you to have no errors or issues.

I am also VIP & I have a total of 1 ticket because nothing is dropping from social events (including passports). This is on MySpace and does not apply to FB users who simply have to click on a passport or a gift to get it. We have to socialize to get everything (except postcards) and it appears that once again Playdom forgot to put these features into our game. It happens every SA that we have to remind PD to put the passport into the MySpace game. Plus FB got the postcards on the 29th and MS users did not have them until the 2nd. Then we have to wait until the weekend is over and hope that someone from Playdom will glance in here to see if anything is amiss, in this case quicker than a support ticket which are running 5 days b4 being looked at by Playdom CS.

In my case I find that I expect Playdom to be consistent and to live up to words that Whitney herself posted. This is NOT at all like a child asking why.... I am a PAYING customer that has an expected level of service ....... an expectation that was born by words that Whitney herself posted. For me this "Pack for" event is an integral part of new SA Bollywood.
You said it was tested thoroughly.
Lol. EVERYTIME the pack for outfit starts with 1/1 stats, and it has to be fixed.
All die-hard addicts know that from experience. Only PD does not.

All die-hard addicts also seem to have list or a good memory about which items where (in whatever way) issued as being "exclusive".
Seems PD needs to add an extra column in their glam-database for internal use only: "reusable yes/no" (for raffles,wheels, vintage glam etc).....

This should be fixed as soon as the location launches. If it does not, I will personally insure that this happens!

I have the Sari on several toons, the 1st 1 came on the 7th try. However, No one in my house has received a passport & this is day 4 of having the postcards and the Pack 4 Bollywood event available. I have done numerous social events on campus without anything dropping; no passport, nor postcards & no tickets. I have submitted a ticket, but recently it has been taking a minimum of 5 days b4 my tickets r even looked at & I fear Bollywood will be open b4 passports r even available 4 MySpace users. yes it's their game, and WE are their PAYING customers. I'm sorry but when you make a purchase that you are told is exclusive to the time of your particular purchase and it's later re-released, that is a breach of your purchase agreement. Don't call an item exclusive if you aren't going to uphold it's exclusivity. PD lied plain and simple, if it was an error, like many other game companies out there, they would correct their mistake by offering a replacement item, PD doesn't feel it's necessary to uphold their word.... Their game or not, they are offering a service and are reneging on their agreements of paid purchases.

I don't think Whitney is taking the brunt of PDs actions due to her being the barer of bad news, it's her selective acknowledgement of the issues that are brought to her attention that angers people. For example, one poster brings up this particular issue, re releases of exclusive glam, the next poster says they are having issues with IMs or gifts, Whitney then skips over the first post completely, without acknowledging it at all and replies to the second issue. THAT is what she is getting flack for, not PDs problems but her selectively addressing issues we have. Even if she doesn't have an answer, even if she doesn't think she'll have an answer that will make us happy, an acknowledgement that she READ our issue would be nice...

No, It was from a puzzle piece. When I got in I had 2 puzzle pieces and got the dress and the hair. I put them on and now they are removed from my glam but I am still wearing them. The hand is behind the dress though and they should correct that. The hair is super cute

MS users have not had any passports, postcards or tickets drop while socializing during the 4 days we have had postcards available to us EXCEPT for the brief period when Bollywood was open for VIPs. I think it would be good if these things were fixed ahead of reopening Bollywood. After all, Fairytale Adventure only ended at reset on March 2nd. VIP members should be able to gather some tickets, etc before being rushed into another SA. There is no advantage in having early access if you can't do anything when you get there. so, the game was back to its "usual" glitches.. which i was giving the benefit of the doubt that they were being worked on. which maybe they were.

And then Bollywood clicked into gear.

NOW gifting is borking up again. In a New and Completely Different Way! :eek: What's happened so far for me is that I'm getting the notifications from facebook that my Sisters are sending gifts, but the gifts are NOT showing up in the in-game Message Center! I've attempting reloading the game every way possible - on the page, refreshing the tab the game is in, and opening the game in a new tab - and what it does is show me gifts that I've ALREADY received and given me game Requests that Sisters have sent to send to them again! And nothing new is showing up.

I actually really love the colors for Bollywood! It's very pretty. But, the second I tried to read a subfeed while in Bollywood, my eyes were KILLED by the red text! Seriously? Red? Why not have just made it the same fuchsia as the background to make me believe I HAVE gone blind? It's terrible.

However, overall the look is gorgeous, so I'll give you that positive point. But PLEASE have them change the color of the subfeed text!!!

In regard to the Philanthropies - they are next to impossible to do immediately! Unlike every previous SA, where the "Pack for" Event gave us a USEFUL item to get us started, the stats on the Purple Sari are 1 Charm 1 Popularity. This makes it USELESS.

You guys just don't want us to play anymore, right?

Also do you have any word on whether the capelet will be moved back to neckwear? It is still an extra right now and that is still a stupid place to put it. It really hinders using it sensibly with many outfits since as an extra it can be used with the necklaces, most of which it just covers up and it cannot be used with purses, umbrellas, swords, fans, and any other such item we can hold in our hands, which BTW it won't cover up... Please please please can you pester the team to put it back in neckwear where it was originally?

The same jumping screen problem goes for the burn list screen. I can't hunt (the primary reason I still play SL) without the screen bouncing up and down! It's beyond frustrating and honestly I'm not playing as much as I used to because of it.

Yup, I have this problem too. I try to scroll back up or down, and get yanked back in whichever direction I DON'T want to be going. Same as with the voting.. when I vote, I try to comment at the same time, but sometimes I can't click "Send" fast enough while still halfway down the screen to I have to fight the game to scroll back down to comment.

The difference is that it isn't comparable to any item in the 12 bp galas. The exclusive holiday countdown prizes (the final shoes, dress, and bag) are like the final prize for collecting all the items in a 12 bp gala. Would people be irate if those showed up again later? You betcha they would. So, yeah, it is a big deal.

THIS comparison, I completely agree with. We get second chances to get the 12BP Gala grandprizes when they re-release them as "Vintage" Galas.. at a 16BP per chance type of deal. so, the people that did it the first time around don't feel like they got cheated (though i wish it were more like 13 BPs for the Vintage Galas ;p). In fact, the only way getting the items for the Holiday Countdown items were if they ran it AGAIN as a Holiday Countdown, in my opinion. But if it does, don't make it cost more - have it the same price, since it was freaking expensive in the first place! :P

It makes it really difficult for me to check my glam for unnecessary duplicates and or omissions. Normally I'd just assume another glitch and wait it out, but it's going to affect the 5-day collection this time. I've got three more minis to collect the shoes, and I'm not going to be able to do it. I know we can spin, but that doesn't seem fair when I am here trying to collect within the proper window, but can't because of an error on Playdom's end. Could you please convince them to not yank the shoes or the tights at reset, so that those of us who were unable to collect because of this glitch can still complete the 5-day collection?

I am noticing the following glitches:

* 10% head start when socializing hasn't even started
* All gifts being reloaded after sending/receiving (noticed after a hard reload of the game)
* Unable to send/receive the tights for the 5-day gala
* Tickets/craft swag not adding up
* Philanthropy teammates missing (I just added one and she's not showing up)

I would have rather had a long wait period between Fairytale and Bollywood to straighten out the glitches than having this new one so soon. I hope these bugs are ironed out before the SA opens to everyone

So I read a good bit of the posts in this thread.... Here are my comments...

Whitney is taking the brunt for the mess with the glam because she is the representative for PD on this forum. Although people may get angry with her for her being the bearer of bad new, that's her job.

The mess with the exclusive glam from the holiday countdown, well people basically think that they should be compensated for the glam that was released. One one hand you only needed bp to get these items, not like getting something from the house mom where you actually have to spend real money to get the items, the items were said to be EXCLUSIVE.

Another thing I read was that there was an event that allowed you to get different hairs in which PD added hairs that you needed to buy bp from the house mom to get, and those people would like to be compensated as well.

Keep in mind that I didn't participate in either event. So no complaining from me.

My honest opinion is that since the holiday countdown said it was an actual EXCLUSIVE item they should be compensated for that because if not PD is breaking their word and cannot be trusted. As for the hair that was released after you could only get it from the house mom, they should also be compensated because they spent actual money on it.

I feel like even though you can receive some bp throughout the game without having to spend any real money that because it is based on actual money any problems with the bp in question should be compensated at least with more bp or glam. For PD bp might actually be easier because they don't need to spend any extra time creating something because it is already there it just needs to be distributed.

Other problems I have noticed is that there seems to be an ongoing problem with the gifting system on fb.

On another note, people are also complaining about the SA being so close together with the previous one. My opinion on if there should be a break is irrelevant the fact is that they should only release a SA after are the glitches are fixed.

That is the Point... The break between SA's is so short that errors/glitches are going to happen because Playdom is rushing to release the new SA... when they should be concentrating on fixing all of the known errors/glitches.

Any reason Bollywood tickets aren't dropping from campus event socializing like SA tickets normally do, Whitney? Between that and the drop rate of the actual tickets from the Pack event (which is LOW, to put it mildly) and the fact that philanthropy is cheaping out on IP and SA cash too, I feel like we're getting gipped here.

Thanks for getting on this one Whitney. I have this same issue of having done absolutely nothing as far as socializing in Bollywood but I come in with 2 puzzle pieces right away. I haven't used said puzzle piece and until it's set right I'm afraid to do any socializing for fear my real puzzle pieces will be mixed up with these impostors! What with last nights gifting problem that wasn't an issue, I had practically no tickets to socialize with anyway. Now that the gifting seems to be better (sorta, it's still not completely right--I collected 50 postcards and earned 150 of them?) I have tickets to use but I still have those 2 impostor puzzle pieces so I'm not touching the socializing yet. Honestly I don't feel very VIP having this extra day to get stuck up in glitches and unable to play. :(

You know what might help, you can pass this along to the team. Please please pass it along. STOP release SAs and the tickets and craft items we all need to get started when we are in the middle of a 5 day gifting event. Overlapping events where we all explode on sending stuff to all our sisters and misters, well of course it's gonna overload the system. It would have been smarter to let us finish the 5 day gifting first. (Which I think many of us want moved back to Mon-Fri still...having 2 of the 5 on the weekend when the gifts can only be sent and received for 1 day does nothing to help week day working people with the collecting. There's still 3 of the 5 items stuck on a weekday. The idea that it helps the week day working people really doesn't make sense, all it does is throw all of us off on the expected rhythm of the release.) After the final 5 day gift was done, THEN the tickets should have been released to allow us time to build up a small stash to get ready for the SA release. Then after a few days, let's say 3 days, the SA and craft items should have been released for VIPs. That way even if there was gifting problems we'd already have a small stash of tickets to go in with and it'd be less likely to have a sudden overwhelming explosion of 4 different gifts sent out by everyone to everyone. Seriously, last night at reset (10 pm for me) I suddenly had 4 all new gifts to send out. Mass sending indeed, but none of it worked because the overload crippled the gifting system. Big surprise.

I had 1, one puzzle piece and yes I did click on it, so please do not remove too many as a way to "fix" this issue. Because if you remove two from me I will never complete and i will have the opposite issue.

You might wanna try to completely close your browser completely and reopen. It seems somehow to loose a a sort of session link, and after that what you claim might not be registered as being received. A forced new session improves that...for some time...till it looses it again.

Yeah, when Whitney said that was the supposed reason Playdom switched I just about pulled out my hair. Due to the lack of regular commitments and the ability to relax a little on the weekends I tend to spend far less time on my computer over the weekend than I do over the week. In fact there's been several weekend where I'm up early and off on adventures and shenanigans with family and friends for the whole day. I don't log into facebook until the day is over, often times well after reset for my time zone so any gifts that were limited to that day only, I'm S.O.L. Fortunately that has never been the case over a 5 day gifting weekend but I'm figuring one of these days that'll happen. Now during the 5 day work week, I'm practically guaranteed to be on my computer every single day for several hours. I always manage to check in on SL during the week. The weekend, it's hit and miss. I can't imagine I'm the only player who functions like that. On weekend days I am on fb the game activity is always slower from most of the other people I play with.

If it was a 2-day gifting thing then I could buy the idea that having it over the weekend helps weekend players, but it's still 5-day gifting. Only 2/5 of the gifts actually fall on a weekend.

Can we pleeeeease get one SA work properly?!
I'll be short:

1. My gifting is broken. I can't send or request from send gifts page, chocos and lipsticks are not counting in my swag ,and if I accept clothing items I need to refresh the page to get them counted in.
2. Neither fight list or events want to load.
3. My feed is not moving and randomly disappears.
4. Game is very slow in general.

Ask for a refund, if they don't deliver you shouldn't be charged. This is the only way playdom will learn to work with customers.

I agree... I feel that being a VIP had no perks at all.

Early access did not matter, because I only had 11 tickets when VIP's could go to Bollywood. Tickets and Passports were not dropping and the Passports finally started dropping right when the SA opened for VIP's. But No Tickets have dropped and they still do not drop.

I like the idea of getting 500 Tickets (Or something like that) for VIP members and start the SA at the same time for everyone!

The same ones I reported earlier (which Whitney didn't reply to), plus...

The game is loading, but my feed is blank, and when I try to post a comment, it doesn't post and the feed doesn't load/kick into gear like it usually does when there's a delay of this nature.

5 day gifting - due to the gifting borking, I wasn't able to collect the Kitten Heels on one character despite accepting 30 of them, and at least 2 of my characters couldn't get the tights because Gifting was Unavailable. Now I'm buried under Bollywood items so the tights are long gone.


Sometimes when I click the Go to Bollywood link, it works; sometimes it simply refuses. When I CAN get into Bollywood, I can't access anything. No page loads if I get to it, and sometimes I remain on the home page. Can't get into my Closet, can't load my Profile, can't even load the Switch Characters page!

Yes, I've tried a "hard refresh".

I'm a VIP, and unlike others who have mentioned it, I wasn't one of the "lucky ones" who got any free puzzle pieces (I think that would have been nice to get, actually).

whitney, can you please ask "the team" to seriously consider testing new game features before releasing them? this SA is the buggiest ever, which is pathetic since it's just a copy of fairytale adventure. the only things that have changed are what things look like and what they're called. the path to progressing through the SA is identical. i know playdom isn't willing to give up making a couple extra bucks by spacing the SAs out more - god forbid! - but they could do this testing near the end of one SA before releasing another. this one is so bad, it's messed up the rest of the game too, LOL. maybe not all the people who complain on this forum are actually going to go through with their threats to cancel their VIP and stop buying BP, but some of them are. some people aren't going to complain at all - they're just going to get frustrated and find other games to play.

I don't think it's such a nice thing. What happens when the game takes back the "free" puzzle pieces and maybe gets them mixed up with the real earned puzzle pieces? Or what if it never sorts anything out and leaves the free extras, will the game handle us having 21 or 22 puzzle pieces correctly? I haven't felt confident in the abilities of the game to keep it straight to go ahead and use my 2 "freebies" because I want to be sure my 20 real ones won't be messed with later. So I haven't socialized at all, even when I could get in. I'm only hoping all those who used the 1 or 2 free pieces won't get screwed with and have something else messed up because their event mastery and puzzle piece counts are off.

I recall Whitney saying that the Playdom SL Team was taking their time with the next SA... I guess not. (Not Blaming Whitney at all, she is just relaying messages from Playdom)

Another Rush job and now more Errors/Glitches since the SA started.

I play on Myspace and even before the SA started, No Passports were Dropping while socilaizing, that is the only way we could get them and no tickets dropped at all and there are still not dropping while socializing.

We finally got Passports to drop right when the VIP early access was started and I had only 11 tickets to start off with... Not much of an Advantage of for being a VIP member!

AMEN! Gifts I had ALREADY CLAIMED during the recent gifting issues were REMOVED FROM MY INVENTORY! This includes items from the current 5-day collection (days 3 & 4)- which could not be recovered, even through the FB games and apps page- because they had vanished from there as well. Submitted a help-desk ticket, which is usually just a big waste of time, and am including the contents of that ticket at the end of this post. I also pay for VIP access, but sure as heck don't feel very important...

In regards to the current 5-day collection:
In the last couple of days, many players (myself included, obviously) have actually claimed gifts only to have them disappear from inventory. Unfortunately, this includes items in the current 5-day collection. Playdom acknowledged in the forums that you were aware of the issues & trying to address them, which is fine, but what are you going to do about the collection pieces that are no longer available through regular channels? I know for a FACT that pieces from day 3 & 4 that I had claimed are now GONE, and when I tried to access unclaimed extras through the FB games page, they were gone from there as well. Are you going to do anything about this?
When the "rules" for gift collections were changed in December, a lot of players lost out on the Christmas collection because you did not feel it was necessary to inform us of the changes, that was bad enough- but you did not feel the need to compensate for your lack of communication - this however is different, these collection pieces were removed due to the programming issues, and therefore needs to be addressed in a manner that (for once) is favorable to us players.

Whitney your kidding right?? Your answer is to give you our ID, when you know it is an issue effecting everyone here?? There are many bugs and glitches right now and playdom jsut keeps rushing new features! I dont think anyone needed to rush into Bollywood which BTW we were all excited about the good looking glam before it opened, but now it is full of glitches everywhere and we are hating it!!

Heres one for you no ID required, can you please get them to add a second popup confirmation when Quitting or cancelling a team in Philanthropy? Many people have reported accidently quitting which is going to ruin not only our own games but others who count on good sisters not quitting a team after they have started and doing it accidentilly will make both people mad im sure.....

Also i dont know if anyone noticed yet but once again Playdom has changed the rules in this feature and not said a word, but maybe it is a mistake so i will let you know here and maybe you can actually have something fixed.....when doing Philanthropy you used to get the amount of Cash multiplied by how many teams your on, not it is jsut that cash once and im sorry but 5$$ish is not enough to keep doing all this philanthropy!! it should be multiplied by the number of teams your on like it used to be .....also why do the teams change order when you contribute? am i somehow only contributing to them one at a time and they change order bc of it??? Please help us understand whats going on and why you would rush this SA out after only 4-5 days after the last one ended and full of bugs!!!

LONG ago, just before they sent us to Tokyo, I started suggesting (in the old forums, through help-desk tickets & in posts on FaceBook) that they slow down and address the issues with these SA's before rushing us into new ones. Now we have barely a week before one ends and a new one starts & with every single SA we encounter not just NEW glitches and problems but all of the same old issues we have dealt with for months & months.

This is typical of Playdom & their corporate greed, instead of trying to provide quality programming & developing a lasting relationship with customers, they prefer to grab whatever profits they can as quickly as possible, and if the gaming issues & practically non-existent customer service causes someone to stop using their games, they assume there will be plenty of others to take their place. No concept of the "long run", just suck as many people dry as possible, then laugh all the way to the bank. This is typically the type of behavior shown by companies who provide substandard products or services and don't have any long-term plans to establish reputation or loyal customer base.

Yeah, I bet that idea of paying bp's to revisit the past SA's is very appealing to Playdom, I would suggest an entire SA done as a "whirlwind" adventure, where we are given a set time frame (a week, 5 days, whatever works) to revisit those locations. I have sooo many leftover tickets, crafting items, etc.. from the old SA's and missed Rio entirely after the damage to our area in last year's tornado frenzy. Revisiting these old locations with players would also give EVERYONE a better concept of which issues started at what point, and then MAYBE the programming staff could pinpoint problems and actually FIX THEM. I have programming experience and know what a nightmare it can be to debug code, this is a thousand times worse when you have the amount of code involved in numerous similar-but-different facets of the game.

I got this when trying to collect a 100% philanthropy (not my own):

Error: You have 4/5 Phriends. All of your phriend spots must be filled to complete this Philanthropy. Go to My Team to manage your Philanthropy.

a) The message is telling me I don't have enough full
b) The message says out of five when I am on the second goal which requires four

Each Philanthropy team consists of you + a certain number of required house members.

Thus, a full team for the first philanthropy includes you + 2 house members for a total of 3 participants on that team.

Likewise, a full team for the second philanthropy includes you + 4 house members for a total of 5 participants on the team (and so on for subsequent philanthropies).

In your example above (quoted), I believe the philanthropy you are trying to collect from only has 3 house members participating + whomever started it for a total of 4 out of 5 participants on that team. Once that person who started the philanthropy adds another house member to their team to make it a full team of five participants, that error message above should disappear and you should be able to collect the prize upon completion of that goal.

My suggestion: RE-RELEASE THE 5 DAY GIFTING ITEMS

It's the only way. There's no way in hell we should have to spend BPs to get something (and a lot of useless doubles/triples/gazillions) that our Sisters sent us and we should have been able to collect but couldn't due to the game glitches.

My annoyance is.. we really DON'T need another Style Upgrade to deal with right now, AND it's a PITA that it didn't post to my wall! I didn't check until after I announced it on the feed to my house.. so i feel like a dumbass.

That's encouraging and seems like the least problematic way to deal with this. Especially given that many players have 2 extra, some have 1 extra, and some have none extra, plus it seems to vary between mains and minis within a single player account. I think I'll give it a day or two to see how it works out. Hopefully Whitney will come back soon with a new thread and a long list of responses to all this.
