New misson for me (explore forest for strange noises) & new items in market, Pickaxe (15 Gold), Crystal pack for lantern (10 Gold) (needed to explore underground cavern), i guess that what the noises in the forest are about.

looks like game over for me now, not paying (real money) for pickaxe for a game, and never seem to get any gold for missions

That's ok the mission seems to be glitched anyway - 12 chops into the forest and nothing to came up.

My guess is u have to keep on chopping until u find an opening. ;)

well i did have 10 machetes, used all 10 to find the 3 medical mushrooms to heal the erm... whoever he was in the kings party that was sick.

gonna be atleast a week until i can make 10-12 machetes, using the food to speed up machete forge. they should make the forge make more than 1 machete in 48hours, 5 would be better. or bring the time down to maybe 12 hours for 1 machete

Decided to try one more time and found the cave in 13= thank god for food hoarding.

Yes - They give ya free axes for the first part of the missions to dig out more tunnels - bet there will be more digging requiring purchase of axes tho - would be nice if we could forge them instead.

Like the briar patch there are several "tasks" require clearing out the cave so don't clean up until you are told to - then you get to go above ground and collect twice from the tool shed - and that is where I will have to wait 24 hours to move forward. :)

I'm gonna start doing the Cave quest later on after I have done my older squests like, feeding the fortress guards and other older quests. :) For me, It's the older quests and then the newer ones afterwards ;) :D.

That's just my opinion of what I am going to do. Beside i don't think that we can control the new quests :D.

I've received word from the King via letter and was trying to find Hildegard in the caverns when I ran out of pickaxes. At this point the only way to get them is to pay real money (15 gold) for them. I haven't received gold in a very long time so I'll be stuck for a while. Guess it's back to kumquats!

Got the find Kings letter as well - headed into the cavern with 12 pickaxes and of course didn't find anything but pawprints - if I do a bunch of searches on 4loot I may gather enough FBC to be able to buy some gold - hate to say I told you so but .... :rolleyes:

quest starts with pickaxes and lanterns, lanterns recharge quickly but you do need LOTS of axes for cave!!!!! sorry

That was strange...when I loaded the game this evening, the Rabbit gave me five machetes! O_o I'm not complaining, especially since the rewards have been especially lousy lately, but I really could've used the pickaxes at this stage. I'll cross my fingers and hope to earn some later.

Me too - ended up having to buy 5 packs of pickaxes to get thru the cave - now I got extra critters standing around watching my crew harvest kumquats.

Almost completed the quest and ran into a bug. It tells me to talk to Hildegarde and Herbert but neither one of them have exclamation points above their heads so looks like I'm stuck doing kumquats until support gets back to me.

I'm having the same problem - can't talk to either Hildegarde or Herbert - so now I have a cave (which I can no longer enter) - along with 4 useless characters (as they respond to nothing, can't use them as workers, etc.) circling around it, and I wasted time and game materials (machettes of which I bought extra to complete the task, etc.). What was the point? I also contacted support - and haven't gotten a response!!!!

Got lucky, the game gave me 5 extra machetes and I only needed 3 to "discover" the cave. Looks like I'm not going to complete this quest though.

i am not spending no more money on this game spent 90 - 100 dollars already before i knew it was over at level 60 so looks like i`m done here it sucks because i loved the game until now

I now have 5 foundations including this one and then inside the briar patch and everything wants machetes.... thanks for the 5 given to me that helped get the last 2 foundations

Also saw in a thread where game over at level 60 :eek: That not good as I have loved playing this game!

The game isn't over at level 60. That's just where the levels stop for right now. In the past they stopped at level 40. This game is new and one of the drawbacks of playing early is that many times we players catch up to the developers. In the future they'll likely add even more levels too :)

I can't attach a crystal piece to compete that quest, yet I have two in inventory. Very buggy.

Well, I'll just keep going about harvesting Kumquats until that gets fixed. It's boring though and I do not have any other quests ATM.

Heck the King still hasn't shown up in my town! I'd love to work on those quests.

So, I'm confused. I got the 20 pickaxes. Did the tool shed thing twice. Now back in with 12 pickaxes left to find Hildy, but all I found with those 12 were pawprints, no Hildy. How do we get more pickaxes? I am not not not not not going to spend gold on them. They already practically insist we do that for the machetes. Is this a glitch, or am I really never going to finish this quest?

I finished repairing the Crystal inside the cave. Now I need to talk to the two hedgehogs. But, they don't have the exclamation points over their heads. Is there something else I need to do before I can talk to them?:(

If you are stuck with them not talking to you; file a support ticket. I did and they moved me past the quest and now I have another helper!

Anyone know, if you file a ticket to complain about the ridiculous use of pickaxes will they do anything? I need to find 3 more crystal pieces and just went through 10 pickaxes without finding any. Pickaxes that I (stupidly) bought.

Yes thats what the quest says, "Find the 3 crystals." I have 2 already in my inventory. All I have to do is find the 3rd crystal. :D

I can't talk to herbert and Hilda either.
I think if we have to buy the pickaxes, then it is extremely unfair that the cave closes, and we lose use of these axes. I had to use 27 axes just to find the crystals. Now I have bought more for the rest, I have 6 left, and the cave is closed. So I just wasted my money on them.
Are they working on the bug to fix the fact we can't talk to the characters? Or do each of us have to do a support ticket? I still haven't had an answer from them for my last quest issue?

Did u place your two beware signs (in your inventory) up in front of the cave? Thats the only way u can talk to Hildegarde and Herbert, and have Herbert as a helper. :D

I agree with getting credit for left over pickaxes. I had 5 left over after this quest and if the cave is useless now then rightfully they should be credited as machetes.

If you can't talk to either Herbert or Hildegrade, after you have attached the crystal and placed beware 2 signs from your inventory. Send a ticket to support and tell them why you can't talk to Hildegrade or Herbert and they'll finish the quest for you so you can have Herbert as your 11th helper. ;) :D

Once you free Hildegarde. is the cave quest over? I hope not as I just got 10 pickaxes with gold and only needed one to find the box. :( If it's over once he is free, I lose those other 9 pickaxes right?

No sorry it is not over then. :( It takes many pickaxes. You search for large crystals, etc etc. Also once you escape from the cave I had a glitch for several days and could not finish. Support did get back to me quickly once I notified them and resolved the issue for me.

Do you have other unfinished quests that you are still working on? If so, you'll probably want to just keep working on those until there's room for this one to come up. I don't know if there's a level requirement for this either but if you're a lower level that could be part of it.

Woo HOOOO!!! They fixed my glitch within 2 days, I was able to talk to Hildegarde and Herbert, and now Herbert is a new helper!!! ===Doin' the Happy Dance=== I also finished the tournament quest, and now the King and all of his followers have left....I'm gonna miss those little dudes, LOL

Most people (including myself) had to send in a ticket....They were really fast getting back to me on it though, within 2 days I could talk to Hildegarde and Herbert....

I spent many days and many pickaxes looking for these dang crystal pieces- which took six hours of collecting - and then they just vanished and were never counted by the game. I'm left feeling the fool because I'm one of the suckers who went and spent money to buy the pickaxes.

So I don't suggest anyone go buying pickaxes for now.

Okay, apparently the crystal pieces ARE sitting there in your inventory - it's just the game tricks you by showing that you are at 0 when really you have them. Only now I can't click on Hildegard's brother Herbert. He doesn't have an exclamation point above his head. *sigh* This whole crystal cave quest has been very frustrating.

I just earned enough FB credits to buy a gold pack. Anyway I used it to buy the pickaxe pack and used all my pickaxes and found 3 blue crystals that took 6 hours each to complete (I used food to complete them) anyway, they didn't do anything! I have one big crystal that just sits there in the cave. Can't do anything with it and the crystals I did find did nothing! The quest still says.....

Find 3 more crystals pieces 0 of 1

Gather the crystal pieces 0 of 1

Am I doing something wrong or is this a glitch?

My quest now tells me to search for a piece of the large crystal. The large crystal is already in plain view within my cave (I have managed to clear everything else) but nothing happens when I click on the crystal. Should I continue to chop away for more crystals anyway?

I think so, Johnny.....If I remember correctly you have to use your pick axes to get 3 smaller crystals, then after you have found and collected all three you have to attach them to the big crystal....Then (I think) you have to get friends to help you finish the big crystal, but I can't remember that part for sure.....
