do you lose levels if you sell off items?

I have seen my better neighbors get rid of most of their garden items and have a theme garden. when I sell off or put into storage I see reputation go down. how much will I lose? my garden looks junky but I don't want to lose what I worked so hard to get. help?

You definitely won't lose levels. Any exp points you gain are permanent.

With reputation, only what you have in your garden counts. So, when you store/sell items you that will be reflected in your rep score.

However, when you have enough rep to open a scene, it will stay open even if you store items and reduce your rep score. So what many of us do, is pull out some of the big rep items when a new chapter is released to open the scenes, then store them again to maintain a cool looking garden.

Also, upgrading items helps keep the rep score high.
