Happy Wednesday, Sisters! I hope everyone is having a great week.

Thanks for your patience as the forums went through maintenance last week... the process took a bit longer than expected, but now we're back and ready for action!

Congratulations again to our Halloween Costume Design Contest winner! The winning Archer Ensemble is still available in the LE Boutique in case some of you haven't gotten a chance to snag it yet. :)

As Halloween season comes to a close, I'd love to hear what kind of Socialize features and Glam you're hoping to see during this remaining month of Autumn. Also, any feedback on the new Job Fair 5 Day Gifting and Gala? How about the Masquerade Ball?

Whitney, do you have any idea when the new (well not so new any more) Road Trip tab is going to be available for the rest of us? My Level 196 still does not have it but many in my house now have 3 challenges there. I could understand testing one challenge or even two, but why continue to add challenges to those that already have it and not open it to all players that fit the criteria? It doesn't seem quite fair. On another subject, which I understand has been brought up several times, when is Playdom going to do something about the obvious "questionable" things that are blatantly going on in SL? I actually started a thread the other day, something I have never done, because I could not believe Playdom would turn a blind eye to someone riding the Burn List for 2 days. Perhaps you could read that thread and respond. Thanks.

Thank you. I hope Playdom does something about the abuses in this Game and not just the Burn List. It is really ruining it for everyone who plays the Game the way it was intended.

On another note I'm glad to see the announcement about changes to the VIP program. Looking forward to that as I know a lot of people have mentioned that being VIP should have more perks. Really enjoyed the Halloween glam. Great costume selections! :)

I've had the same problem since the forum upgrade (I even posted about it in the Bugs section). I need to refresh the pages all the time as the forum keeps timing out on me. I usually need to refresh 2 - 5 times to be able to browse, read or post, and it's quite frustrating to be honest. I want to be able to do all of these without any problems just like I had been able before the upgrade.

The message I get is something like this (my browser is in Czech):

Is anything going to be done with regard to the removal of the awful pop-up advertisements that are ruining game-play? I'm getting these stupid ads every 4-5 clicks when I'm socializing, fighting, hunting, voting, updating my outfits... you name it, if it involves clicking anywhere within Sorority Life, it'll generate one of these annoying ads. To make matters worse than sheer annoyance, they RUIN other bonuses that pop-up, such as the paint brushes, sweethearts, and intramural items. One of the bonuses will appear, followed immediately and covered completely by the random advertisement, and when you click to close said ad, the bonus window disappears as well!

I'm seriously contemplating quitting Sorority Life completely, and in reference to my signature... Yes, I did cancel. I will not be rejoining no matter what "improvements" are made to the program because there is no indication of even the slightest chance of an improvement in customer service or improved coding/programming and testing.

I have to say that I was extremely disappointed with the Halloween items. Compared to other games that I play SL basically threw 2 small "free" items our way. 1.Cat Ears 2. Silly Joke Face. SL is still my favorite FB game, but others started their Halloween promo's at the beginning of October, and released new items to buy for real money, buy for in-game cash AND several free items every week!! That is something I would really like the SL developers to improve upon. Giving a free "costume" or glam item is not too much to ask for on the holidays, not everything needs to be for BP's IMO.

EDIT: make that 3 small freebies, forgot about the Jack O Lantern candy pail. :/

I'd just like to know if anything is going to be done about the Sapphire and Ruby cheat that is still going on (see General Discussion forum thread for more info), although its been reported repeatedly. When you use a sapphire or diamond (which as far as I know aren't even available anymore since there's no more crossing over), they disappear from inventory but at least one high level player has a never-ending supply that don't disappear from her inventory even after repeated attacks. I don't plan on continuing my VIP membership or purchasing another single BP until this is acknowledged and addressed.

I just wish the dev's fixed the Majors. Right now, the way it is, higher players hardly have a chance, unless they're using BP's to finish the courses. I mean, i'm a level 206 now, and i'm gonna fail in Behavorial Lab because ALL the tasks (no exception) is asking me to do things that are nearly impossible to me. Collect 10 BL gratitudes, Put X numbers of players in the BL, Win X fights, Lose X fights. And if you fail in one assignment, and do the other, doesn't change. I did this, i failed one, to see if next one was easy, but LUCKY ME /irony/, it wasn't! And to do the Methaphic's Lecture (the course that i want to do, because of the glam) i have to be A or B in Behavorial Lab, and i'm an F! Tomorrow i'll fail the course because i can't collect 1Million in BL gratitude, 'cause there's no one in my level or higher in the BL, and even if it had, i wouldn't be able to collect the gratitude because i'm not a kick ass char or fast enough. So... Yeah. I feel like i'm stuck. I just wish it was easier. I'm not saying that it should be EXTREMELY easy, but i think it should be less difficult. The way it is right now i can't barely do anything, and since there's no more events for me to do on campus or SA i don't have anything to looking forward to.

Majors was an amazing thing, and i do think there's a lot of glam to be discovered, i just wish we (higher players) had a chance to see. :/ The way it is now doesn't make me excited to see what is out there, because i know i'm not gonna get it. And i wish the required BP's to skip the assignments or get the assignments earlier was a little less too. Something like 3 BP's to get it earlier and 3 bp's to skip. Right now is 4 bp's to get it right away and 6 bp's to skip, wich means that we spend 10 bp's in just ONE assignment. Doesn't seem reasonable to me. :)
Oh, and before i forget, we still aren't able to delete comments in the white board.

Most of the joiners in IMs are from level 140+, so it's more reasonable to have this cap at 40 :)

All of the items in the Masquerade Gala are awesome except for the final prize, which is extremely lame. First, enough with the wings. Second, they aren't even good wings. They are very plain and boring and go with nothing.

I always love 5-day gift events. I think we should have them every week.

One wish... that in study abroad, the drop rate for crafting items be evenly distributed. I have like 200 of one thing which I don't need and 0 of something I need 12 of just to craft one item. It would be nice if they dropped at an even rate. So if I dont use one item, I still won't have 200+ and I would be able to get a little more of the stuff I do need. This probably won't be considered because it would make the game slightly easier (but I think it would just be slightly less frustrating) but thanks for taking the time to read the suggestion anyway.

Also, we have so many players that design so many great outfits. No offense to whoever makes the regular LE glam in game, but a lot of the player designs are better than those created by game officials and it would be nice if they were contributed more in the game. I would be sure to spend more money on BPs if I would get some of the glam that the players have designed. Please take this into consideration. Again, thanks!

I have asked you before and never got a final answer, I have also sent in at least 30 tickets. I have a mini who has all the events set at full mastery. She was a bounty hunter. She NEVER socialized! I have asked several times for this to be fixed so I can socialize her with the events. We are almost at the 2 years mark. I am VIP, I have been since the start of that program. I sure do not feel VIP. I have been told it will get fixed. It never does. This mini is useless now. I cant collect boarders or BP's on her and she WAS loaded with BP glam. Please help me fix this. I am at the end of my rope.

There will be no change in cost for the VIP program! If you are signed up currently, you will still have access to VIP missions in the meantime.

I want to bring your attention on the galas. You may have read in other threads rants about getting dupes over and over again in the galas and this is getting into our nerves. It's like wasting money. If I may speak so for myself, I play SL because of the cute items we could get and those cute ones are the BP ones. Those that we get to buy with cash are mostly trash. You said to speak what we think, well this has been written about many times already but still we don't hear from PD. Could we atleast know if you don't agree so we could stop whining already? Knowing that I won't be getting any dupes in the galas encourages me to even do all of them than supress myself even to look at the event because I know for sure to get disappointed.

I want to know why as a Level 210, there are ZERO players my own level on my fight list?
They range from ONE Level 211 all the way up to Level 249. Some with 1200 sisters.
I can't even use this aspect of the game with my main and that irritates me. I do not want to play on a mini all the time. I have created this character and glammed her, i want to use HER.
I can't believe that I am the ONLY Level 210 player out there. Why can they not have the list populate my level rivals?

I have already sent in a request, as I am sure, several other people have too. Well Lorielle, one reason is because of the girl who is TD'ing everyone over the level of 200 in two whacks because she's using a Ruby-Sapphire cheat which gives her humongous defense AND attack power, so no one will come out of the spa because as soon as they do, its an instant TD from this player. It's been reported by myself twice.. with no answer.. and by at least one other person, but Playdom doesn't even reply to my emails. I've spent $50-$75 a month on this game for over two years but this is it for me. I won't continue to pay money to increase my character's strength when it doesn't even stand a chance against this sort of cheat.

Whitney, I really IMPLORE you to go back to the team and tell them the game is unplayable because of all the bots and the changes PD is imposing because of them. Honest players are getting locked out for NO reason at all, doing NORMAL GAMEPLAY (hunting the BL, collecting gifts... socializing) while these bots can have glam they don't deserve, ride the BL for DAYS on end, have a ruby/sapphire cheat., etc. This is disgusting, and as a business PD SHOULD care about their product enough to keep it secure so things like this don't happen.

Seems to me, the policy of allowing users 3000 clicks/hr, should deflate any argument about the use of automation assistance - if someone has a way to go through 3k actions in 15 minutes, then they're out, and the rest of SL is free to play without them, for the balance of the hour. Eminently fair to all... although, it is too low a number: With my lowly human finger alone, I find 3k is easy to exceed - and the result is a spending of time, money on other games, while locked out (and often beyond).
The cure is, in fact, worse than whatever imagined affliction - many people, I assume, only have certain time(s) they can allot to playing games, and the exasperation of being locked out during that time is certainly causing a trickling away of attention from SL. I fear this may well become a flood, however, if the need is felt to initiate even more methods of exclusion.

It's a large organization, some elements of which may not be seeing the effects created by other elements' actions. You can change the course things are taking - everyday I see far more players express frustration, confusion, dismay.... much more than happiness. Communication and a fresh perspective might change this, while it's still worth changing. Do the right thing - and take these ideas to someone with broad influence.

In the strictest sense, the idea of specialized "bounty hunting" does not seem to have been an intended activity of the game, to begin with. A BH often wants to remain at a given level - while the objective of SL is to gain reward by leveling UP: SL hands out influence points as though a prized reward, not a penalty, at every turn; grants more opportunities and privileges for increasing in level. If you dig, I think you'll find this to be correct. While fighting is integral to the game, so is the gaining of influence. Bounties were meant to be an occasional bonus - the notion of remaining at a level... sacrificing artificially high losses and depressions to do this... is a perversion of the game created by it's users. Admittedly a very popular one - but not one that the game is designed to encourage.
This unintended, wide-spread interest was, I'm sure, welcomed as a boon to interest and sales... but now the level of overkill to accommodate those who may feel overwhelmed by the popularity of that style of play, is working to negate the windfall it once was for Playdom. ...and the company is realizing none of this; cutting it's own throat because the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing.

I wanted to comment on the above quoted portion of your post especially the part about the altering of the code. The biggest cheater in the game has pretty much openly admitted that to certain individuals. Cheating is cheating is cheating and IF PD actually gave two licks about their product, they can very easily figure out by looking into the person's account for their skill point placement and in their closets if they are cheating or not.

Not only can they do this, this player has been brought to their attention MANY times before. Supposedly they are 'of course interested in taking these people out' but clearly they aren't because here they are, still playing/cheating.. whatever you want to call it.

There is no OTHER way of saying it OR DEFENDING the actions of this player other than by calling it what it is. A cheater. If someone can RIDE the BL for days on end, as it is CURRENTLY doing for at least the third time in as many days, have gala items PRIOR to the official release date, AND have GLAM from SA's they haven't even UNLOCKED, clearly, they are altering the code, which is CHEATING. Simply put.

I'm sure they would be interested in a report on the lack of action on the part of their employees, the ones who they are handing pay checks over to. I can't understand how a single player blatently cheating, being reported with screen shots by probably a dozen other players or more, still plays while those reporting them get the same generic reponse that it's being investigated. Obviously there is something shady with even the CS department or they are the most inept group of people I've ever seen employeed by a company the size of PD.

Either the entire CS team is in cahoots with this particular player and has no intention of ever doing anything about this player's many in game practices that are against PD TOS, and will continue indefinitely to fluff off any and all players attempting to report this player in question OR PD does employ the stupidest technical investigating team know to man because they can't figure out how to confirm this person is in fact cheating by looking into their account (s). I personally don't know which case would be sadder...

Whitney you told me that months and months ago and my minis have never been fixed either. Same problem all events stuck at Diamond. On two characters. I sent in a support ticket and mentioned your name, like you suggested, and I was told that "someone was looking into this and would get back to me"... of course that never happened. This highlights the continual problem at Playdom with lack of follow-up and the just generally DISMAL customer service.

On a somewhat related note, I am reposting the questions I asked in last weeks thread because you closed it without answering...

Will the problem with the Socializing page not loading after completing an event be fixed soon? I don't even know if it is a known issue, since the known issue page in the support section hasn't been updated since 8/5... things like that would be funny if they weren't truly kind of pathetic.

Are you running an ad blocker? If so, disable it when viewing SL.

Yeah I was just going to say. You were on the forums today and you were reading the in game gifting center and yet there's no comment? I really wish when PD releases new features that they would at least TEST IT OUT BEFOREHAND, because if they had, they would have realized just how much trouble this had on the game. ALSO, It would be really nice if there was some sort of ANNOUNCEMENT here on the forums officially announcing the new launch AT THE TIME it is released (or just prior to) so we KNOW what to expect. Whether its good or bad, it should still be done.. NOT days later, when there are such huge glitches as a result of this new feature.

Whitney, honestly, do your job. You're our eyes and ears and you should be telling us what is going on. Provide more communication from PD to its customers. And not when it suits you..

And as a friendly suggestion, I would advise against commenting on how pretty the new BP glam is. We want to know if we can expect london to be extended due to all these glitches, and we want official word on how the in game gift center works, and when we can expect all the glitches will be fixed as a result of this implementation.

Here's something you can pass on to the team... Most coding goes through requirements gathering then design then coding then unit testing then QA testing and finally documentation so that the users know what the release contains. It's call a Quality Management System. Perhaps a little ISO 9000-2001 where everything begins and ends with the customer. Learn it, live it, love it.

(I am currently a software developer and prior to that was a quality analyst implementing processes and before that I worked in support for a software company. I know of what I speak!)

Hmmmmm>speak my mind..my wife and i have been playing SL for some time. We are not"socializers" we are hunters. We build avatars for the thrill of the hunt which takes time and RL $$$! In all the time we have been playing I have not seen 1 time that SL/Playdom has done anything to improve the gaming experience for the "Hunters" if anything they continue to do things to make it more difficult for us, we can't even get the 24 grats we are entitled to without multiple lock outs..and NO we don't use bots! I would like to see something done for once to make SL a bit more fun and competitive for hunters!:rolleyes:

I honestly don't believe the game is "dying" at all. They are making major changes that WE asked for.
As for not allowing 3rd party sites, we all knew that was a matter of time. They allowed it longer than they ever needed to in my mind (and yes I took advantage of it too.)
I look forward to playing the game as intended now. People will learn that they CAN still play the game quite well without them, we all used to.

Compared to the top Playdom game with 2.7 million daily and 10.5 million monthly. SL is kicking hard! It is after all #5 out of Playdom's 13 active games...Tiki was killed off with more players than SL has now due to the low # of players.

You can only play SL now if you do not want to play on a lot of characters. With only being able to accept 50 gifts on about 3 characters on average (through the message center) they would have to stop making the game so dependent on gifts.

Very often actually, I have sisters that will be on at the same time as me collecting/ returning gifts. We will sit and send back & forth until one of us maxes out. This would not be that hard to do several times a day. It will encourage the social aspect of the game again to PERSONALLY gift back and forth instead of using the sites, we will make gifting relationships. I already do that with several sisters now. AND a big part of this game is strategy, maybe we shouldn't be able to get everything on every character every day. We should have to decide that something is more important to us than something else, its what we do in alot of areas of the game. I do believe they are slowly (admittedly sometimes too slowly) fixing alot of the problems in the game.

I really don't care about the numbers/stats for the game, I play because I like the game not because everyone else does. And for every bad statistic posted someone can probably find a good one if they look, I take them with a grain of salt.

Well good luck to ya! I don't foresee unless they do a massive change being able to take all 10 of the SL characters through the Study Abroads.

I find something to be true - most people like to be treated poorly by companies. They do not trust companies that treat them fair and honestly. Playdom has the worst customer service - I have dealt with them for the last 3 years and I can not believe it has taken me this long to decide to walk away. Part of the reason I stayed was to help my sisters and chat with them. With the feed not working properly that has been difficult at best.

As far as the numbers go - whether you care about them or not - it is a deciding factor on whether a game stays or goes. Good for you that you absolutely love the game and are very happy with the new changes and think they are great (and will have the ability to trade gifts and return the 500 a day you may hope to accept when they fix what you are hoping is the coding error). Even with gifting sites I could not return more than 150. :) SLGifts promoted a gifting relationship whether you agree or not though...to those who knew about it anyway.

Blocking the application today was very freeing and I am leaning towards keeping it that way.
