I converted 2 buildings to white prints but now how do I get the building back for my city?
Thanks for your help.

You'll have to repurchase the buildings. Converting to whiteprints is the same as selling them.

I have converted some items to paper but have no clue what happens to the paper it changed to or where to find it. Does anyone know or did I waste those items?

They will show up when you click on an item to upgrade it. They are not stored in inventory.

Click on a building that has the upgrade menu then look at your whiteprints. That's the "white paper". The more buildings you convert, the more whiteprints you'll get.

Sorry but this is confusing me as I click on a building I want to upgrade and it wants lets say 4 white prints well shouldnt 2 of them already be there since I converted 2 buildings?

Yes, they should unless there's some part of gameplay I haven't run across yet. Additionally, you may have more than 2 whiteprints depending on the buildings you converted. Some buildings convert to more than 1 whiteprint each.

Which building are you trying to upgrade?

Sorry I am trying to upgrade so many to list. I find it strange if I have 3 drums not sure what they are called but in the Asian area if I have 3 and I ask for help for all 3 and I fill the white prints by buying them when I go back only 1 is ready to be upgraded so I do it and then it takes away from the other 2. It asks me to buy more paper for each when I had them all filled. Too frustrating.

OK, it sounds like you are trying to update the Drum Towers, among a lot of other things.

OK, gotcha. Yes, if you want to upgrade 3 Drum Towers from Level 1 to Level 2, you will need 1 white print for each of them. Unlike "blueprints" in real life that can be used over and over again as a basis for duplicate buildings, Gardens of Time whiteprints can only be used for one building. Does this help?

So from Level 2 to Level 3, you'd need 2 for each of them.
From Level 3 to 4, you'd need 3 whiteprints for each of them - and so forth.

I have also seen a mention in a thread that if you try to do too many at once the game doesn't always calculate the changes correctly. It was suggested to do one at a time, let it upgrade, then go to the next.

I hadn't heard that, but thanks for the heads up. I have about half a dozen in the works now, but can't manage more than that. I think I'll do one at a time once I get all these to Level 5.

Crazy4Jewels is on the right track here for the problem :-)

When you buy whiteprints for 1 drum tower you'll see it's complete. If you look at another drum tower, those same whiteprints you already bought will autofill there. You wouldn't have 2 full sets of whiteprints, you have 1 set that follows you wherever you look. In other words, the materials and whiteprints are only stuck with you, not the items, until you upgrade and use them.

third, that's what I still do too. I don't know if it's a problem anymore now that the 'prints aren't going into inventory but I figure better safe than sorry ;)

Hi I know all this what I am saying is I buy them for each one among the others and then once I build 1 items everyone of the others is gone and I have to buy more and it happens each time so now I stopped upgrading because it makes no sense if everything in my garden has their papers/blueprints when I start and then after only 1 item was upgraded they all go poof. I lost so many coins for nothing.

Hmmm, the only other thing I can point out is that the whiteprints are used collectively for all buildings. So buying them for each building doesn't really matter.

If that still doesn't reconcile your silver vs. whiteprint inventory, I'd wait to see if Angie or Stinky reply with more insight. You may need to submit a ticket if there is indeed a problem.

Why are you using coins for whiteprints? If you have any buildings you're not using, convert them to whiteprints instead of buying them.
If you don't have any buildings stored...disregard my previous statement. lol

I know this can get really jumbled, but all that's wrong here is an issue with understanding how they work. Once you have whiteprints bought for a single drum tower, you can't buy any more whiteprints for another drum tower until you upgrade the first one. If you are seeing whiteprints on a 2nd drum tower those are the exact same ones you just bought for the first drum tower. The game won't even let you buy more whiteprints for a 2nd drum tower until you use the first set.

Here's a really weird and odd example, lol.

You go to the grocery store to buy cherry kool-aid. They only have 5 packets in the whole store so you buy them all.

You tell the cashier you don't need a bag and will just carry them in your purse, and then leave the store.

On the way out you remember you needed sugar (because kool-aid is yucky without it, lol) so you go back in.

You still have the 5 packets of kool-aid in your purse.

You can't then go up to the cashier and say you want the 5 packets of kool-aid again. There are no more and you already have them with you.

Until you take them out of your purse and make kool-aid, there are no more packets to buy in the store.

That's what is happening with the whiteprints. You are carrying them around no matter where you go or what building you look at. Once you use them, you can get more.

(there's other variables that come into play but once you've got this part down those should make more sense too :) )

BUT you can buy whiteprints for another building and use them for the second drum tower...or any other building you want to upgrade. They are universal like the materials and can be used anywhere.

Yes, but that was part of the advanced steps that I was leaving out, lol. Along with selling buildings for whiteprints or having a stockpile of them when all you need are 6, etc. Based on what I've followed so far, I really think it's the issue of not realizing they are the same whiteprints so that's why I left all the rest out. But you are 100% right :D

Another Newbie here!!! I don't understand the whiteprints! After converting a building to a whiteprint what happens to it? Should I convert or sell for more room in my garden? Any information would be greatly appreciated.....

Thank You!!!

jrice when you convert to whiteprints that building is now gone (as if you had sold it). If you have a lot of buildings to upgrade, converting is a much easier way than clicking repreatedly and spending silver. Either way will give you more room in your garden, so it depends on your need.

The building leaves your inventory as it if were sold except it has been "sold" for whiteprints.

Whiteprints are stored on your behalf. If you click on an upgradable item in your garden, you will see that whiteprints are one of the materials needed to upgrade that item. Once you collect all the upgrade materials, you will be able to upgrade the building.

Wonders require blueprints instead of whiteprints. You can only buy blueprints with gold or silver. You cannot convert buidlings to blueprints.

Yet another Newbie. What is the advantage of converting to whiteprints rather than selling?

David Cimino

One of the main advantages is that you need the whiteprints for updating most objects and it will save you from having to buy them.

I have converted most of my unwanted buildings for whiteprints already and am at the point where I am paying the 1125 per WP. Has anyone found a better deal than the 1125?

Posts in other threads have reported that buying them is the cheapest way to get them. Converting is more expensive, but it does save a lot of clicking and possible unintended gold use. :)
