Hello :)

I know you guys have many questions on the new collections feature. So here's a little about how it works!

The fragments of the collections are dropped out when you play the scenes from the chapter. So if you want the Chapter 1 "Seated Ramses," you have to play any of the scenes in Chapter 1 to get the fragments. The drop out rate is the same for each scene, except for the premium scene which gives a higher drop out rate (I do not know how much higher tho).

The drop out fragments are completely random too. So you may have already 4 of the same fragments but still cannot get the missing fragment to complete the collection.

Once you have all 5 fragments, you can trade them in for the chapter collection.

Aha. So it's like a bank of slot machines. Once you "win" on a particular scene, your odds are better to move along to another scene than to continue to play the same scene over and over. Except for the premium scene, which is "tuned" to win more often.

So when you mouse over your friends list, you should either see "The wishlist is empty" or the wish list will pop up with up to 5 items. When you mouse over to that item, it will show how many of that item you currently have. And if you have duplicates, you click on the item image, you will be asked if you want to send it to that friend.

How do you add items to your wish list?

I noticed that some of scenes that were orginally find 12 missing items have been modified to only find 6 items. Do you think that those are the scenes to try and ignore the other ones?

One of my very nice neighbors gifted me the snake thing, and I now have a completed Ramses statue in my garden. However, I discovered that the Chapter 16 quest is to FIND all 5 egyptian items, not to complete the collection. Guess I am still stuck trying CH. 1 and hoping the snake things pops up!

I apparently obtained all the first set if collections. I was given all five items to upgrad to the seated ramses in collections. The first three were given when collections was unlocked, and the other 2 were given by friends then I traded and the ramses was in my inventory. How was I able to do that wihout completing any scenes in chapter one? I really don't want to waste my energy if I don't know which scenes to play. Can anyne explain?

call me dense but I dont get this. I logged on to see I have to complete to get 5 more keepsakes. Then it tells me to get them in chapter 1 but I already finished all in chapter 1 so are you telling me I have to stop what I am doing and go and redo all the puzzles in chapter 1 in order to get the 5 keep what ever they are?

The first introductory quest for everybody gives you the first 3 items. If you were gifted the other two, you are done with chapter 1.

Yes and no. You don't have to stop what you are doing. I believe, as others have suggested, this is to give us something to work towards between chapters. Personally, I am not going to do much with them, until I have completed 16... because, well... Pirates!

You don't have to redo 'all' the scenes, just enough to get the drops. You could simply do one scene over and over till you get them. It just has to be from the chapter you are getting the collection from.

I don't believe that is entirely accurate, statistically speaking. Assuming the drop is random, you should have the same odds whether you only play one scene over and over or if you jump around. (not counting the premium scene)

I do not think this is th case at all! I need one more item to complete a collection & I played the same scene 3 times in a row and the 3rd time i got something.

dam, the collections are a sidequest and it's up to you to decide when or if you want to do them. The new chapter that was released today is Chapter 16 and it has a pirate theme (which is what ZG was referrencing). Like ZG, I'm going to complete all of Chapter 16 before I go back to the Collections sidequest. But I could have easily decided to stop doing my chapter completion game and go start the collection sidequest to get them caught up. There's no right or wrong way so just do whatever makes the most sense to your style :)

It's also ok if after you've tried it out, you don't like it and stop trying for them. I'm the type of person that wants to complete everything, no matter how mundane it may be. I'll be doing old scenes over and over until I have every last one complete even though it may take weeks to get all the pieces. But again, I don't think you have to feel that way :-)

Heh, no, not at all. The theme for chapter 16 has some pirate related objects that are pretty cool. And as much as I really like the collections stuff, I am going to put my energy into getting the pirate stuff first, then do the collections. ;)

They are randomly dropped, sometimes you won't always get something, it's a kind of a game of chance. I wouldn't call it a waste exactly, as you still get the xp/silver, but certainly if are working on the current chapter, you might choose to do the collections afterward.


Also how do we ask for friends to gift us these?
From the collections window, you click on the plus buttons next to the items you need and they will be added to your wish list. Then from the wish list window you can click on "share" and your friends will see what you need. They also see your wish when you hover over them on your friends list in the game. And that is where they can send you ones you need, if they have extras.

That is an important difference to note though. When you send out a materials request all your friends have to do is click to send you one. With keepsakes, if a friend sends you one of their keepsakes, it will come from their inventory. So many times it may be the case that you are requesting an item, and they may not have an extra to send you.

Hi guys! New member to the forums although I have been reading here often since I started playing in June. This is my first post so please don't bite, too hard :)

I must say I enjoy the game but am getting a little frustrated with it. As stated I didn't begin playing till late June and I didn't get a home computer until two weeks ago; needless to say I am several chapters behind everyone else. I've diligently worked through the chapters and achieved 4 star mastery in the free scenes. I feel that I am so far behind! I got a few chapters in then the wonder upgrades were introduced. I spent lots of time begging for materials and eventually felt like I was all but holding people at gunpoint to get what I needed. I got all my wonders upgraded then continued on with my chapters.

Now I feel that I should stop and try to complete these collections quests. I do one thing at a time, I do it very well, and then I move on. I honestly don't know if I can wait to do these collections til I have caught up on chapters. I also feel that I wasted so much time completing each scene since I now have to go back at play them again.

I love the idea but think this was just poorly thought out. I don't want to get further behind than I already am. I want to discover new things with everyone else and not be out of the loop. I feel that I am in a hole trying to dig my way out and Playdom just keeps shoveling more dirt on my head! That being said, I do really love the game (I have the same issues as everyone else: energy constraints, water squares, etc) and I look forward to playing it everyday.

It's not tied to a scene, just a chapter. So any scene, even the same scene over and over, will work as long as it's in the right chapter :-)

Ah, ok. When you hover your mouse over the collection item, it will say "Found in Chapter 1" (or whatever chapter it is). You can also click on that piece and it will open your time machine to that chapter too :)

Oh no - I have the chapter - I guess I meant to ask which scene in the chapter...

That's the part that doesn't matter ;-) It can be any scene in that chapter. For example if the collection says it can be found in Chapter 1, then you could play scene 5 only over and over and would eventually get all of your pieces. If you've bought the premium scene then it will always be best because it's set to drop collection pieces more quickly than the others. But for the free scenes, it's player's choice.

Honestly, my best advice here is to just say, don't worry about it. It's not a race. Play so you enjoy it. If you try to "catch up", it will be more like work, and because some people started earlier or have more time to spend on it, there will always be people ahead of you. And there will always be ones behind you, and new people join every day.

The thing is, many people here, including myself, play in a cycle where we finish a chapter and have to wait. The recent additions has added much more stuff to do. People have been constantly requesting more content. So really the fact that you feel that there is too much to do is really a good thing, it is much better than being not enough to do.


I do one thing at a time, I do it very well, and then I move on.
That is exactly how I play. One scene at a time, complete it and then move to the next one. I am currently focused on chapter 16, and not really going to much effort into the collections until I complete it. Which is awesome, because usually I finish a chapter, and kind of wait till the next one comes out. Now, I have a lot to do between chapters.

I must say though, it refreshing to see someone frustrated with too much to do rather than not enough. ;)

Can someone explain to me how "Collections" work? I get that certain items are hidden in each scene but when you find them, what happens? There is no indication or "tally" place that keeps track. It still looks like I need that item? I wish that the creators would at least provide some instruction with new challenges instead of just throwing it out there and expecting us to figure it out. If I'm missing something where the instructions are shown, I apologize but I've looked and I cant find anything. :confused:

I think that's the whole point!! Some people just dont' quit whingeing (not you!) about being bored, completed all chapters, and more or less accusing the devs of being lazy and not bothering to produce new chapters etc.

I think this collections thing has been introduced to occupy us while waiting for new chapters to be released. And yes, if you want to complete the chapters, then you're going to have to use energy to do it.

Personally I love the idea. I'm enjoying revisitng chapters that I'd completed ages ago, and finding how quickly I'd forgotten where a lot of the items were hidden within the scene!

Huge help reading bits from all of you, so thanks. I think I'll concentrate on 16 first, then as suggested have something to do while we wait for a new chapter. Can plod away at them then. Only downside is that don't gain much xp on early chapters so even longer to earn 1 gold. I cant play more now as I used all energy cans allowed (10 per day :-( ) and all energy gained by hiding gifts for neighbours. Have to wait for energy to refil :-(.

on the whole its all good news.

I'm kind of enjoying the slower pace and being made to wait a little bit longer for the scenes to open up and am mixing up doing collections with earning stars.I am waiting on a mystical feather to be given to me or found to complete the Pegasus,I think its so pretty.By accident I gave a golden bridle to a lady who either no longer plays or I just can't post to her wall.Wouldn't it be neat to have a swap n' shop of collection items here and find new neighbors in the process?

OK I was gleefully happy to complete the first collection. However, after I placed the Ramses, I then lost the horus and the headress. Now, although the Ramses is in my garden, in my collections it shows I don't have the headress or the horus. Do I have to collect them again???? Why did I lose items when I placed the Ramses?

Are the ones you've got left not extra ones - you can gift these - and move on the collect the Chapter two items.

Not So !!! I have now got 2 Seated Ramses, and a friend has 3, her Quest wont go away, still says 4/5 items found.
Is it just me being thick as usual..., I played chapter 2 several times and got nothing, I had assumed that once you got the Seated Ramses, it wouldnt allow you to get another, so I am unsure as whether to keep playing incase I am wasting energy here, is it a bug?

With the 3 fragments from Alister, I then completed two scenes in Chapter 1 and got the 2 pieces I was missing. Where has the completed item gone to? I cannot find it in any of the build boxes. It is not in my inventory. Now when I look at collections it tells me I do not have any of the fragments and need to find them all again in chapter one. Slightly confused as to how collections works. I agree with what you're saying! I'm tired of hearing all the whining, too! (not you wildtig) But the ones complaining about having nothing to do when they completed the chapter and upgrade to their wonder in 4 days or less. I like to play 40-50 energy on chap. 16 and the last 10 or 20 working on my collections. :)

I think that "Collections" is a great idea to get us to revisit some of the older puzzles. I am working on Chapter 16, taking a few side trips to earlier chapters and really enjoying some of the puzzles from completed Chapters that I had forgotten about (and this from a voracious reader who doesn't read the same book twice.) I love this game! And I REALLY appreciate the detailed explanations for how things work. Thank you!

OK this all helps me understand. I guess when I placed the Ramses the ones I didnt have duplicates of went to zero and the ones where there were more than one stayed there in collections. Now when I'm bored... as in all done... not likely:) then I can collect again and help friends with their collections. This is such a fun game.

TO melissaandspencer and anyone else who was having the problem with chapter 2 not dropping anything...I was having this issue also, I played the premium scene 6 times without one item dropping (:mad:) and even tried a regular scene twice - nothing. Then I placed the seated ramses in my garden, and I've been getting the items. I had left ramses in inventory, figured I would try that. Could be a coincidence. Or not!

I was wondering the same thing. I sent a Cobra to one neighbor earlier as I had an extra. Now another neighbor is requesting a feather and I have an extra one, but when I go to her wish list to give it to her, it say's I have 0 which is not true, I have two of them. So I am wondering if we can only gift them once every 24 hours?? Can someone please get back to us. Perhaps we need a tutorial for them so we can only have to go one place to get the answers. What say you moderators.

I have collected enough in Chapter one to get two sitting Ramses. I assume you could collect as many as you'd like. I am now giving my extra's away.

I am also having a problem completing the Quest in Chapter 16........found the 2 missing pieces in the collections and placed my ramses in my garden the quest showed I had only collected 4 out of the 5......read the above post went back and collected the 5 again without unlocking the Rames....still showing the Quest incomplete at 4/5...am I missing something here....thanks for any suggestions!!!

I was the same, I kept playing chapter 1 and checking every time I got a keepsake, eventually it came up and said it was complete....after many many duplicates, so I guess its just a case of perseverance, I have 3 Seated Ramses before it said it was complete..

Zombie Gorilla, thank you for your response. I guess I'm just a little overwhelmed, but in a good way! When I buy something, I want to be able to place it in my garden with the corresponding items (Imperial eggs with Russia, etc...). Right now, I have a museum display in a "courtyard" in front of the palace with items that I've bought but have nowhere to place as of yet. It's the only way I could think to use my new, pretty items and it still fit in with the theme of my garden.

I found out the same thing. I was hoping it was a glitch. I tried trading my five items - door opened and then closed. All my items in the Ramses collection were gone, but no statue in my garden. Grrrrr! Maybe I'll figure it out as I go.

Look in your inventory. That's where I found Rameses. Also, I think you have to find the two missing items from Collection/Chapter 1. It doesn't count if you get one as a gift. I found both of mine and got Rameses and got credit for the quest.

No, it just means that you weren't lucky that time. It's a random thing - no guarantee that you'll always get a relic.

yes you can get the pieces in the paradox scenes,.. been playing one all day because I now have 5 of each tile... with the exception of the one I actually need.. from chapter 4 and I got to wondering if part of the elusivness was because I still have that scene that is not at 4 stars... anyhow... I have gotten 3 chests playing that scene b ut still no elusive last tile. I got them all fairly easily for the chapter 3 collection, but then all of the scenes were already at 4 stars... still makes no sense because my chapter 1 scenes still aren't at 4 stars all the way yet that collection is complete for me...but yeah it is driving me mad... as I said I have 5 of everything except 1, and that is after gifting several... don't want to think about the energy I have gone through. But on the plus side... lots of silver!

Yes. They are in the paradoxes, too. I was thinking there was one chest in every scene. Now that I've found out it is totally random, I'll avoid the paradoxes. Count me as one who hates them.

the new collections really stink - it keeps giving the same item over and over and over again and you never get the last one you need. WASTE OF TIME. (and by the way, I have all 5 stars on all chapters, so that has nothing to do with always needed and never getting the last one you always need). They have just programmed it so that you can't move quickly on this phase of the game so we will keep coming back. The sad fact is that they are losing most players because of this. I went through all of my neighbors and only 2 people have wish lists - nobody else is even playing.....:mad:

Now, now. Just because a person doesn't yet have a Wish List doesn't mean that they've stopped playing altogether. If you don't like it, you can always ignore the Collections part of the game.

If you have an item that a person has in their wish list, that item will appear more solid than those you don't.

ok.. with the exception of the first collection, I have found that there will be at least 1 item that you can't seem to get unless all the free scenes are up to 4 stars... I now have 4 out of 5 of the collections finished and can honestly say that I have more than 9 of each item except the one I was missing for the 4th one... almost as soon as all scenes were 4 stars it popped right up... I had no problem with the second and third collection both were all ready at 4 stars for each scene... so if you are having extreme difficulties that may indeed be your problem... worked for me... sadly I need 2 stars to finish out all the chapter five scenes... OUCH LOL

Personally I love the idea. I'm enjoying revisitng chapters that I'd completed ages ago, and finding how quickly I'd forgotten where a lot of the items were hidden within the scene!

I agree... having finished all the chapters with 4 stars in each, and having over 2 million coin in reserve, it is fun to go back and do the collections between chapters. If I were just starting out the game or early in the game, I probably wouldn't use my energy, but save it for the next chapters. I don't care if it takes longer to get to the next level up b/c the xp is less, and some of the new items are pretty cool. Thank you devs for adding a new dimension to this already way cool game :D

So when you mouse over your friends list, you should either see "The wishlist is empty" or the wish list will pop up with up to 5 items. When you mouse over to that item, it will show how many of that item you currently have. And if you have duplicates, you click on the item image, you will be asked if you want to send it to that friend.

I have only received collection items when I played chapters as a part of the story line. I am now done with all 16 chapters, so there is no more story line to give me quests, and as I'm playing the chapters to find the items I am getting nothing. For example, playing chapter 1 scenes give me nothing for the Ramses Relics collection. How am I to proceed with collections?

It can definitely feel frustrating, but it's just the luck of the draw. It doesn't matter if the scene or storyline is finished or not. I've had 4 stars in all scenes and finshed the most recent chapter in 2 days of it coming out and have found all of the collection pieces. It's random so it's going to take a bit of a lady luck but you'll get there :-)

I played the collections first before finishing 16 and got all 5 collections plus another Pegusus. (I'm at level 48) Several of my neighbors did this too so was gifted the one illusive item in a couple...I think it may be a different item for each person. It only took about 2 days. Several of us found out that if a person plays a scene..go back to garden..go back in and play another scene..go back out..They drop faster instead of staying in and playing a scene many times. All the items are there in your own game as in the British one it took a day and 1/2 to get my Busby. Also if you gift your neighbors the extras, they are more apt to gift you too!! Just keep trying..I love the collections and have now gone back to get some to gift the neighbors who have yet begun to work on the collections.
The hang up may have been when Playdom went in to add new Pirate things that are now there. (?)

Hi m, I have been playing chapter 2 again several times and now have 4x kettles, 5x busby's, 4x flags and 1 coin. There is no sign of the paddington bear - where oh where is he? I play each scene in the hope of getting him but never get anything from London Groove flat - perhaps it's just too groovy for gifts? Think I'll give up but seems a waste of the items I already have.

ok.. with the exception of the first collection, I have found that there will be at least 1 item that you can't seem to get unless all the free scenes are up to 4 stars... I now have 4 out of 5 of the collections finished and can honestly say that I have more than 9 of each item except the one I was missing for the 4th one... almost as soon as all scenes were 4 stars it popped right up... I had no problem with the second and third collection both were all ready at 4 stars for each scene... so if you are having extreme difficulties that may indeed be your problem... worked for me... sadly I need 2 stars to finish out all the chapter five scenes... I am not having that experience, as I have (from the beginning) gotten 4 stars in each scene before I moved on to the next chapter. There are still items that don't show up. They still are just as random as before...the last several times I played, I got 2/6, 4/9, 1/2, and 0/6 yet I STILL haven't gotten the one item I need for chapter 3. I think its just random for everyone, whether you have 4 stars in the chapter or not. :)

I'm not sure I understand the problem. After I get all five in a collection I click the button to complete the collection. Then I go get my prize out of my inventory. The next time I look at that collection, each keep sake has one fewer - because I exchanged them for the item. Did you get your items?

I think spending 3 gold to finish that is a much better use of the gold we get than spending 6 gold to finish a star quest (and get a 125 silver bonus). You still have to get those stars for the next level up. I have done that by accident a few times. Grrrr

Got the first 3 (but with great difficulty) but I'm sadly going to have to put Collections on Hold because I have to get ready for future chapters by building up my Silver Count as much as I can (I get good payouts at the Brigantine), so as soon as something comes up, I'll resume the hunt for it, albeit future collections may be added nearby, so I'm going to save myself from the stress by spiking up my Silver in the meantime.

There's be no word at all about a collection for any chapter passed #5. I'd keep working and then go back and catch up when the new collections are announced.

When you've finished all the quests and built your wonder, it makes sense to keep playing the highest paying scene you can to accumulate more coins and XP so you can level up and have enough silver to buy whatever you want in chapter 17.

For the first collection (the only one with a quest attached to it) you had to get the last two items that weren't already there by yourself. If they were gifted to you, they didn't count for the quest. After that, it doesn't matter if you get them gifted or not, just that first one.

It's there - it's all about the luck of the drop. You can put it on your wish list and hope one of your neighbors has had more luck. Also, there is a thread for trading items in the Find Neighbor thread/forum. Good luck!

Aha. So it's like a bank of slot machines. Once you "win" on a particular scene, your odds are better to move along to another scene than to continue to play the same scene over and over. Except for the premium scene, which is "tuned" to win more often.

I'll leave the slot machine luck discussion on the side (lol) but for this game, you have the same luck playing any scene no matter how many times. I personally play the same one scene in each chapter because they are scenes I've always liked and I can get through them faster. I've completed all the collections this way several times over. The premium scene is better though because its droprate is set to happen more often.

Well, I've gotta tell ya, the one premium scene I have doesn't seem to return any better odds than the regular ones. I can play it six times and never get a hit. Then I might get two in the next six rounds.

If you go back to the OP, you'll see that, no, he didn't specifically say that. But IMO, once you get a hit on a particular scene, your odds of getting another hit immediately are less if you play the same scene again vs moving on to another scene. Likewise with a row of slot machines.

I have all 4 stars in Chapters 1 through 14, but I cannot get the Tiled Auroch in Chapter 4. I have 3 or more of everything else and I have played that chapter over and over again, trying different scenes thinking that may force it out. No luck. I was initially excited by the collections - they'd have been great when I first started playing; but at my level 50+ they're worthless. No point in putting the treasures in my garden because they don't have enough value and playing games in the first few chapters have no value either.

I have had the candle dozens of times and I don't think it has ONCE held a treasure chest! I wish it did!!! I would have gotten a treasure chest almost every time!! :D BTW...it is a little, tiny, teeny, itty-bitty candle, isn't it????? :D :D :D

Since every time I complete a collection some of the items go back to zero and no one can explain why, I'm giving up on these also. They seemed like a good idea to keep up interest between new chapters being released, but the reward just isn't worth the frustration!

When you finish a collection you'll get a pop up asking if you want to go to claim your prize. You will see the items display and the quantity of each that you have. When you collect your prize it will be in your inventory amongst other items from that chapter that you might have stored. It doesn't just put them at the end of the inventory. You can then put them in your garden. You can have as many collection prizes as you want so the collection tabs never go away.

I don't have any of the items she wants, but if I did, I wouldn't be able to send them to her.

This is a combination complaint/suggestion....I keep sending extra collection items to my neighbors when I see them in their wish lists...but I SWEAR I have sent "Joe" 3 of everything on his list...either he is collecting a whole BUNCH of phone booths, or he has not updated his wish list. Any way there can be a check on an item if you have already sent that to that person? I try to keep my wish list current, but for those who are not frequent players, this might go overlooked. Unless I begin a bookkeeping service on my gifts to 50+ people...I will be sending the same items to the same people over and over.....oh...and you ask why I keep playing the same scenes? Just because I check to see what my neighbors want so I play to try to fill their requests....I have most of what I want...just playing for the fun of it.

Laiki, we found out that the original collections were locked until level 7 (I think that's the right level). It wouldn't surprise me if these new collections have a higher level requirement too. So by any chance have you checked to see if that collection is open to you in your tab? If it's locked to you too then that would mean there must be a level requirement. Personally, I think that's to get you to trade with your neighbors --- for you to give some of your extras to neighbors who have these items on their wish list. You should put the bangles on your wish list -- then maybe one of your neighbors who have extra bangles will give you one. I think that's part of the game.

Chapter 11 has been weird for me too. Usually I have just one common item during each chapter - and then only 3 or 4 of them before I complete the collection. For this chapter I have 6 Henna Tattoos and 7 Maharajas and ZERO Majori Slippers. I hope this does not become a trend.

As far as depending on friends - out of my 47 I'd say only 1/4 have wish lists and of those it seems only 2 or 3 may be as far along as I am. Once I get a collection I give the rest away via the wish lists but I don't think many people "get it".

Hello folks! How can I find the coral shell necklace for the Quetzal Collecto collection? I cant seem to get it anywhere. I have 28 eagles heads, 31 snakes, 26 sets of feathers and 19 corn cobs but I cant get the necklace. Lisa, I've seen the build times before on the collection items and it's never been applied to them. Mine have always gone straight to inventory upon being collected..

I noticed that for the first time last night too... thankfully it doesnt apply, I got my ch 24 collection piece almost immediately last night when the chapter opened and there is no build time, it goes straight to inventory. I think its supposed to represent the amount of time it would take to build normally.... lets hope its not an update in waiting though...lol

Must be some definition of random that we aren't familiar with. I'm going back and trying to complete collections in older chapters if the prize looks good. Am drowning in shillings in chapter 2 but still need a flag. Same thing happened in another chapter. Am getting a little suspicious of this "random" claim.

Just a note: I decided to complete all the collections myself at least once before putting the item on the wishlist. Some took me a long time, but I managed to complete all of them this way (I'm on the latest chapter).

So I think that it is random to the extent that while we all have one that is hard to find, that one varies between players. That's PD trying to make this a "social" game and have us work together. But it is possible to find all yourself without someone helping. In my view, there is never a reason to need to spend gold to get an item. It will drop eventually. Or you can put in on your wishlist if you don't want to wait that long.

It's random what falls, but yes there is a programming code behind it. 4 out of the 5 are programmed to drop more often. The 5th one is programmed to be more rare. The 5th item is different for all of us. That gives us a reason to put that rare 5th item on our wishlist and socialize with our neighbors more with sharing. It definitely can be done by yourself too though. I never ask for collection pieces before I've earned one myself and I've gotten them for every chapter. It takes longer but it can be done.

It's really not a ripoff. It's a "social" game. It happens to everyone. There is almost always 1 item that is hard to get or you can't get. This is where you rely on your game neighbors to help. You might try this link here:

I don't think they are playing fair. I missed finishing a previous crystal chapter due to this "feature". I know they are trying to force us to have neighbors that will play the crystal chapters, but like you, I won't add strangers and most of my neighbors that are still playing, don't want to play the crystal chapters. I also won't waste gold to get past that point in the chapter.

I think I'll just be content to not finish some crystal chapters. I'll enjoy the scenes and buildings I can collect, and not stress about the rest. It seems that either one can get mad and leave the game, or get zen about it and just enjoy what works for the moment. I don't have much hope of things changing.

Another suggestion is to add "strange" neighbors that live in other countries. I think it is so cool to have these neighbors who enjoy the same game as I do! These are very SAFE neighbors if this is what you may be worried about.

Sometimes I ask for a gift, like a miniature bed that completes a collection, but by the time I get the gift I've already completed to collection. If I click on the delete button, does the person get the gift back or is it just gone? Should I accept it and keep it in case someone else needs one?

I know you guys have many questions on the new collections feature. So here's a little about how it works!

The drop out fragments are completely random too. So you may have already 4 of the same fragments but still cannot get the missing fragment to complete the collection.

Once you have all 5 fragments, you can trade them in for the chapter collection.

I was curious if I was just imagining this or not so I did a spread sheet. From left to right, out of 1846 total items in the 41 chapters I'm seeing a ratio of 3:1:3:3:2 (or 25%, 8%, 25%, 25%, 17%) and this pattern pretty much holds true for all but one of the regular chapters. I haven't done all the crystal scenes because it took 2 weeks to get my lost toy store replaced and when I did I had to rebuild it because they put it back at level 1 so I used what I thought were my last 50 crystals to build it but got way too many of them and did the painter one. With that it seems like I don't get the second from the right and the far right but there really isn't enough data to show a trend. Point is, I shouldn't know from the start that I should put the second item from the left on my wish list because if that always happening is about as low probability as winning the lottery. It would be nice if it was truly random.

Caly...That is what I do. Once I have collected what is needed to collect the one item, then anything I get from that point on, I give it to my neighbors. Right now, I have enough to collect 3 more of the bagpipe but I don't need them. So, I hold on to all extras from all chapters and try to pass them along to people as they need them. I'm not a dev or tech on this game but I believe that if you delete it, then it does just go away. Hope this helps....

Toneal has the right idea though; it is best for you and your friends to take the item, then give it to your friends when they need it. Sparky, you are right, they aren't random. But everyone has a different one that is 'unattainable'. Mine is always the middle one. I rarely gain a collection without my neighbors helping me with that one. I can get tens of all the other ones, but never the middle one. I think they design it so you have to use your wish list. And have some really awesome neighbors. (Which BTW, I have!!!!) :D :D :D

When someone sends you a keepsake on your wishlist, it goes directly to your inventory without any action on your part. What you are accepting/refusing is simply the notification that someone sent you the keepsake, so it doesn't make any difference whether you accept or refuse it. As others have said, when you have more than you need, you can always send them to friends who have them on their wishlist.

Jannaw's got it! Collection pieces are directly sent to your collection inventory so there's no actual accepting being done in the MC. That's mostly just a way to know who sent it to you. I do the same as others have said with my extras. I try to make sure to check often enough so that a wishlist piece isn't sitting there too long to get many extras to begin with (not always easy to do) but if I end up with them I turn around and give them away to other neighbors in need.

Does anyone else get majorly frustrated with gathering pieces for your collections? I have been playing chapter 36, Hull Haul to where I have 4 stars in 3 scenes,
with a total of 30 artifacts, and it won't give me one single piece of the one I need to complete the collection. I think this is just ridiculous, and it is so frustrating I
have to stop playing.

The other frustration is the higher you go in levels, the more all the quests use crystals - there are more quests in the "special" crystal chapters than the regular, which of course starts costing money. Come one now, don't get so greedy and keep the game fun!!

It is almsot designed now that you need help from your neighbours to complete collections. I'm doing better on getting all items this chapter, but last one the doublet never seemed to drop. Whatever you are missing check neighbours wishlists. If they are asking for items from the same chapter, but not what you need, send them something they need and a message telling them what you need.

As for an item disappearing, check the usual, clear cache etc etc etc

No kidding. For some collections I've had 20+ of each collection piece needed and the one I need seems to be the one my neighbours need also. :(

At the moment it's eating crystals so I can get a last piece... though it already took gold for one of the other items I needed. (No gold confirm = :mad: ) 2 more crystals and all three of the crystal scenes will be filled, but I'm not meant to finish them or I could mess my game up and it glitch so I can't continue... Wonderful situation. Oh and the majority of my neighbours that still play and have bothered with the crysal chapter, they mostly need the same piece I do as well. Because of the consumption of crystals, I have been playing on the gifted 12 per day, unable to raise many more than that, unless I spend money on buying them...

For any that wonder, I refuse to persuade my other friends to play or come back. I used to really enjoy this game but with the way this game is rigged now I wouldn't recommend it. I'm still playing purely because of one family member that is still playing and I hate leaving something half done and wish to finish the chapter at least. Both of us will be leaving once this is done though and by what my other neighbors are writing, I doubt they will be long behind me.

I too think they have bad odds on one of the items in the crystal chapter collections. Because of the upper cap on the number of crystals you can get, it really is a make or break thing. If your neighbors don't have the item you need (and the swap meet isn't an acceptable option) then you are forced to use up the limited supply of crystals knowing that it may make finishing the crystal chapter impossible.

I've hit this twice so far. It really made me angry the first time, but now I've just gotten zen about it, and decided I'll enjoy GOT when I can, and play other games when I get stopped by this feature. There is always another crystal chapter around the corner, and other hidden object games. I have grown to like B&B and others.

It's not the crystals I'm mostly talking about, it's completing the 3 scenes before I am at that part in the quests. I can't go forward with anything until I have the crystal collection items, unless I waste more crystals on completed scenes, just for the items. Wasting them means I'm less likely to complete the chapter due to lack of crystals.

I know about the greying out thing, which is why for the past few crystal chapters I haven't upgraded a final crystal item until the last 6 hours or so... though I never completed one of the previous chapters so my crystals don't grey out at all at the moment. That's probably why I didn't seem to get the bumped up starting amount when this new one opened, even though I was down to 15 or so. Still, even though my crystals haven't greyed out for a while, I don't get enough to complete the current crystal chapter and finish the one I couldn't previously (due to lack of crystals) unless I spend money.

I tried to collect crystals from sending requests as well as posts but I seem to get either one or the other. If I get the 12 via requests, the wall posts tell those who click on it that they have already collected. There's no message when people respond via requests in game so I don't know what's happening to those crystals, but I only get above 12 if I get the rest in drops from other scenes. :(

As for the 20+ items of each thing in a collection except the elusive one item, I should have made clear that I was talking about the regular chapters. :o

At least you guys have been getting them. I had 3 total when I had 6 stars, so that's probably out of 25-30 games. Two of them were the peony shoe. I started getting them so by the time I got 7 stars I had 7 items, 5 of them were the peony shoe. Now I have 12 stars, and have played (I am keeping track) 30 times since then and have 28 total, and yes, 10 of them are the peony shoe. I'm still 0 for 28 on the rose shoe, but have upgraded everything so I know that at least that can be done. I don't know what they are trying to prove here, but making this part of every single quest is kind of boring, but not as boring as doing the same scenes over and over and continuing to get the not-the-rose-shoe. At least we get a decent amount of XP when this sort of thing happens with the regular chapters, although from what I have seen they seem to have done something with those so this sort of thing never happens. I never get the second item from the left, but I usually do in the first few plays and can redeem the collection. I then go back to not being able to get that one except, according to a spreadsheet I made when this started getting ridiculous, a consistent 8% of the time. If there's a time limit they really need to implement that programming for the crystal chapters too. I bought a pain au chocolat, I'm not buying a rose shoe. I'm also going back to ignoring crystal chapters. Life is so much better without them.

I have reached 4 stars in all 3 scenes but game has never given me the Military Leggings. So now I have to WASTE crystals playing scenes over and over hoping to eventually get the keepsake I need so i can continue. I refuse to pay 6 gold bars for the keepsake. Game should give all keepsakes before reaching 4 stars in all scenes. This is probably my last crystal chapter.

I would like to suggest that Playdom come up with a similar crystal maker like they did with the blue agates in B&B. Give us "unpolished crystals" and let us convert them to regular crystals because I sure am not getting any crystals when I play scenes. And I cannot get enough to play the crystal games -- I refuse to pay for them and I refuse to play these games on Facebook.
I also wish Playdom would move Disney to the regular website because I like learning about the different animals, but I'm not play on Facebook.

I don't always look at my neighbor's wish lists. But when I have something I really need I look at their lists and part with every possible collection item I can. Then have only that one crucial item on your wish list. People reciprocate and you learn which neighbors are the type to send needed things back to you.

On a more general Collection note: I almost dread completing the collections because it takes so long to redeem them. I timed it tonight: 1 minute 15 seconds from clicking "Collect" to getting the all clear. Everything else was going its normal speed, so it wasn't at a laggy time. I'll be the first to admit I don't have the most powerful laptop, but still.... I have literally fallen asleep before while redeeming my collection items.

Is it just me? I don't care for the animations in the first place, except for the roamers, which I'm sure adds to my irritation; when it comes to finishing a scene, just show me the final brown box with my totals, collection items/crystals earned, and option to play again, then go to the scene without the watch animations. When I click "Collect" to turn in my items, do it and get a move on!

I was wondering if anyone knows if this is normal.
I have been playing the Independence Day crystal scenes, and I've gotten to the quest that says to get the collection item.
Prior to that the chest drop rate in the scenes was normal, but as soon as I got the collection item quest the chest drop rate plummeted to just 1 chest in the last 3 days.
I play multiple times every day, and have been using all my crystals on these scenes, and still can't get chests anymore.
Is it normal for the drop rate to plummet like this when you get a quest requiring it?

I have played Chaper 9 - Finding Independence and need Colonial Solider for the Dandy Duds colections. I have been playing the scenes now for over 7 days - 4-5 times per day and i cannot get the colonial soldier im 5 star in each of the 3 scenes. I only have the Colonial Solider on my wish list and I am NOT joking - i have gifted over 40 gifts to my neighbours in hope that they would gift back - but they havent - i keep playing the scenes and keep getting the same gifts (not of which I want) the chapter closed tomorrow. I have played Chaper 9 - Finding Independence and need Colonial Solider for the Dandy Duds colections. I have been playing the scenes now for over 7 days - 4-5 times per day and i cannot get the colonial soldier im 5 star in each of the 3 scenes. I only have the Colonial Solider on my wish list and I am NOT joking - i have gifted over 40 gifts to my neighbours in hope that they would gift back - but they havent - i keep playing the scenes and keep getting the same gifts (not of which I want) the chapter closed tomorrow. ANY SUGGESTIONS?????

If you go to your collections - the one that looks like a trunk, you will see how many items you have collected for each "Trade for". Each item you still need has a little plus at the top right side. Hit this and it adds it to your wish list which is displayed above. Took me ages to find it too!

I'm done the last chapter and played over and over some chapters but I never het the dragon fruit. Am I the only one with that problem??

Collections can definitely be frustrating! There's always 1 piece that is going to be more rare than the rest. In time, you'll eventually get that piece from just playing through but it can be sped up by adding it to your wishlist, posting your wishlist to your FB wall, or using the Swap Thread (http://forum.playdom.com/showthread.php?58181-Collection-Item-Swap-Meet) we have set up here to make a deal with another player.

Was just about to start the task complete 5 in flashlight mode, Adam and Notre Dame and realized its a crystal chapter what a waste of 10 crystals and secondly i have 30 of the keepsakes average of 7.5 each but of course no anchor as usual!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no i am now content now only took 40 keepsakes for the anchor to pop up that's random for you and yes i know its part of the tasks but i don't want to waste 10 crystals on a task for so little reward my choice thanks last appendix: now on 61 keepsakes and only one Anchor that means the statistical chance of getting the 5th keepsake is around 1.5% i.e. less than 2 per 100

It is a task. part of the game to do the flashlight mode...its in ALL the crystal chapters....as for the Anchor...thats what friend requests and wish lists are for...use them, Please.

i have collected the croissant :( 6 times to finish the parisan collection and still hasn't shown up in the collection...tired of doing this stuff over and over with no result

It helps if you put the missing collection piece in your wish list, then neighbors can help. I have two and can send one. I know they frown on posting "make neighbors" outside of it's regular thread, but if you want, here is my fb link...friend me and I'll send you one.

I am also missing the green mouse. I am now out of crystals, I have 4 red mice, 4 pink mice, 3 blue mice and 5 orange mice. Not a single green one. And I've got it in my wish list. And with over 500 neighbours, you'd think at least one of them would have a green mouse they could donate.

So now I am stuck on this level. I have 4 stars on all three scenes, but until I get that stupid horse and carriage thing, I can't progress.

Not only have my crystals run out, but time is running out to complete this latest crystal chapter.

I remember now why I haven't bothered with the last two crystal chapters - it's just not worth the frustration!

problem is it seems the devs withhold the same keepsake from all people otherwise it would not encourage us to buy with gold and one chapter it took over 100 before i got the last one for the lake palace and none of my 114 friends had the one either fix or what

have you added it to your wishlist on the game go to the keepsakes and click the plus button it will load into your wish list then publish it to all
