Question about Gold Weapons

How long are the Gold weapons useful for, the GSE in particular? I'm level 75 right now, and I'm wondering if I get the GSE, will it be useful to me? is it better than the Target Pistol?

The Excelsior add-on means it will always be useful as it grows in power as your agent levels. Other weapons, normal or customised, will eventually drop in power as you outlevel them.

The gold weapons are useful as they're always something to come back to when your other equipment loses its edge.

Thank you, I thought that the gold weapons were different just because they had a high power level, so the excelsior ability was confusing for me . However, if what you say is true, why they put a power level for these weapons? I guess to follow the format of weapons in general
