Along with monitoring the conversations that go on around here and gathering feedback, I'll also be picking up where Whitney and El Guapo left off-- I'll be leading the Wednesday discussions. Your thoughts are important to us, and the SL team is constantly looking for ways to improve the game, so please speak your! mind

It appears that there are some issues regarding the Arcade and SL not loading. The team is aware of these issues and they're devising a fix for them. For now, just file a ticket if you encounter any of them.

My questions to those that experienced (or still experiencing) any of those issues:

Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies and seeing it's working now?
Are you using a browser other than Chrome or Firefox? If so, which one? And have you thought about switching?

Why can't we copy the URL's of our avatars anymore so that we can easily post here what we are wearing? This started when the arcade came out and it is the same on 4 different browsers I have tried, Firefox, IE, Chrome and Safari.

SL hardly loads for me on IE at all, when it does my avatar and the avatars of other players are invisible. The arcade games do not work on IE. I have had none of these particular problems with browsers other than IE

My question is about the end of the fighting streak. It was nice to see a countdown, but as of a day or two ago the entire progress bar disappeared along with the countdown. Can you tell us exactly when this will be gone? I'm noticing that I'm still winning prizes for hitting the progress points, but I can't see where I am as far as progress and therefore there is also no way to request recoveries.

I used to have dozens of philanthropy requests and now for the last week nothing. If I do get one, two at most, they disappear before I get to the character I want to accept on.
I find it hard to believe no one is asking for help.

Same thing with me, Lorielle! I used to have dozens waiting. Now, I seem to very randomly - maybe once a day, get 3 - then nothing else. I don't know what happened. I've had sisters ask for help, tell me they requested multiple times, but it never came through on my end. : \

Do you have any idea why we can't right click on our av to get a link anymore? This is not something we find to be helpful. I'm not sure if it's something that was changed on purpose or not but we'd really like it back :)

Do you have any idea why the Attack Again button randomly disappears? This has been an open issue for months now.

Majors are still broken - if you have received the A prize for a class already, it will not reward you the B-level prize for that class, even if you get a B. There is a bunch of glam I am totally unable to get due to this. I'm at a standstill when it comes to majors actually (also been reported a bunch of times).

The Rivals list is still broken. I'm not sure if you guys meant to make the rivals' avatars so darn big on that page (which makes it hard to use if you have more than just a couple), but past that, if you hit Attack from that page, it just lags. This makes the page totally and 100% pointless. Also been an open issue for quite some time.

I'm sure you probably know this but none of the wall postings are working unless you actually type something in the box there. This means philanthropy wall bonuses that you post to sisters, level up bonuses, change of clothes bonuses, keepsake postings, etc. It doesn't seem like that would have any reason to work that way.

Can we please have the newly received gifts come in at the top or bottom of the list. They were doing this for awhile and it worked great but now they have gone back to putting them in randomly. I have 600 gifts that I haven't collected yet and its a pain to scroll through to find something I can collect that I am not maxed on already for the day.

OMG THIS! YES PLEASE. Bring that back. Fix the rival list. Its recently changed to show the entire av of the rival. It makes the list incredibly long.

Hi Aubrey I would like to know when the issue with missing boarders will be fixed I have submitted numerous tickets since march and each response has not been helpful and I am still missing 100 earned boarders which affects my game greatly. Clearing my Cache changing browsers has not resolved this issue and I just keep getting automated responses to my tickets I have submitted screen shots proving that my game is missing 100 boarders and yet nothing has been been done

It has always been this way for me if I tried to copy it from the my style page. Up until the arcade tab was added we could copy it from the profile page, it is now broken on all browsers

The reason you can't just right-click and "Copy image URL" on the "My Style" tab is that the avatar in there is actually the individual item images layered on top of each other. Right-clicking and picking "Copy image URL" just grabs the URL of the top most image.

i have found that when voting or completing events the page jumps less when playing in IE, to do galas or see AVIs need to switch to chrome. is it to much to ask that you fix the glitches so that the game works properly on all platforms

I have a few Tickets with Customer Support and I was told in the First Response from Customer Support to "Clear My Cache" and "That there has been New Fixes since I filed my Ticket".

Not to mention, I told them that I Cleared my Cache already before writing them and they still told me to "Clear my Cache".

I wrote back stating that I cleared my cache again and it did not help... Then I been waiting almost a week and I get another "Clear my Cache" Standard message from Support again...

Please Tell Customer Support not to Tell everyone to "Clear the Cache"... It does not work for missing items and items that have been removed.

It is ridiculous to wait a week to get help and you get the same response again and again. Which makes a simple fix into a problem that takes a few weeks to fix.

Hi again. Yes, the issue with the progress bar for streaking being invisible/gone appears to be universal. We are still being dropped progress awards, however. But like I said -- b/c the progress is gone, we can't request recoveries when we lose - and the countdown is gone.

Firstly, the copying avatars issues is effecting everyone in all browsers. bijoukira said "it is the same on 4 different browsers I have tried, Firefox, IE, Chrome and Safari." and I don't think it's working for anyone.

Secondly, I have had no requests either for days and this is happening to several people. I don't know if it's happening to everyone but it is a widespread issue.

Thirdly, the fighting streak counter is missing for everyone. The timer said we had 2 days left on it but it disappeared. It was still giving out rewards but without the counter it means we can't see where we're up to, and, more importantly, without the counter showing there is no way to request help from a sister to recover your streak if you loose a fight. I have been especially careful to only attack those I know I can beat but incoming losses break the streak and there's no way to recover from this. What was the point in having a countdown on how long the feature would be there for only for it to be removed early? I hope the fighting streak is just being removed to work on the bugs and I hope it's brought back. I still didn't manage to get the final outfit and the streaking is fun.

Finally, Krista has mentioned issues which are effecting everyone and which we have repeatedly told Whitney about before. The team should be aware of these issues and Krista shouldn't have to send in tickets about issues which are effecting everyone. The "attack again" button often goes away after attacking someone on the fight list. The "attack again" button should be displayed underneath the fight so you can fight the same person again. This button should only disappear when the target is in the spa but it is disappearing a lot when the target is not still in the spa, meaning we have to scroll through the fight list to find the target again. This slows down fighting and is very annoying, especially when trying to complete a winning streak. Is this removal of the button on purpose to discourage repeat attacking? Or is it a mistake? If it is a mistake please bring it back. If it was on purpose I don't think it's a good idea because we can still repeat attack by scrolling down the fight list and finding the person again or by going to their profile page and clicking attack on there.

I don't often do majors but I have heard about his issue from many players. I think this is effecting everyone.

The rivals page showing the full avatar is happening for me too, and again, I believe this is a game wide issue.

Finally, today my game bonuses will post without typing into the text box. I have heard this was a Facebook issue and effecting all games but as I don't regulars play any other games I'm not sure. Anyway, I am glad it is fixed.

May I make a suggestion, Aubrey? I think it would be helpful if you had a list of current issues and let us know the progress on them each week, that way we wouldn't need to post the same issues each week, such as the attack again button being missing, the problems with the majors, etc.

attempting to copy from the My Style page has never (and still doesn't) result in a copied image of our entire avatar, only a single layer of it as posted above. We could only copy the full image of our character from the My Profile page and the option to do so has recently been removed from everyone using any browser. For IE this might also be the reason why, or related to their avatars not showing up at all, but that is just a guess.

I haven't had this problem but have heard others have. Are you in a philanthropy of your own? My sisters who had this problem said it was fixed when they joined a philanthropy of their own again.

I am still having a lot of issues with the Arcade and I wrote Support about it and they replied back with the Standard "Clear your Cache" message... I have lost energy and tokens and they will not reappear by clearing the cache... Again, not everything can be fixed by clearing your cache.

So now I will continue to wait for help, which can take weeks to get... :confused:

That is from 4/4/2012, upwards of 40 days ago.

Support cannot sort these out for me. They are programming bugs. Support will tell me to clear my cache or restart my browser or even better I'll get a canned auto response that doesn't even address my concerns.

I was hoping that since the programming team has ostensibly been aware of these issues for quite some time you'd be able to see if they had some kind of fix date in mind.

It took forever for them to get a new community manager and Whitney told us that they needed time to train her replacement and what we get is ...... "clear your cache" and "open a problem with support" for things that are impacting ALL of us and some of them have been broken for AGES..... what the hack kind of training did they give this person? If Development doesn't know about the problem with Majors by now then Whitney didn't do her job because it was reported to her MANY MANY times and many of us have opened problems and got the canned response of "we are aware of the problem"

I just wish Support would answer tickets in a more timely manner and instead of responding with a Generic Message, they should read what the problem is and if it is a simple fix, like missing items, they should take care of the problem then and there.

The majority of tickets would be solved quickly and there wont be any backlog or as much backlog if they did this...

The missing boarders issue has been fixed. The win streak that was causing that error has been removed and players haven either been taken care of, or are in the process. If you still have questions about it, connect with Support. Trust me, they'll take care of it. ;)

I don't often do majors but I have heard about his issue from many players. I think this is effecting everyone.

The rivals page showing the full avatar is happening for me too, and again, I believe this is a game wide issue.

Finally, today my game bonuses will post without typing into the text box. I have heard this was a Facebook issue and effecting all games but as I don't regulars play any other games I'm not sure. Anyway, I am glad it is fixed.

May I make a suggestion, Aubrey? I think it would be helpful if you had a list of current issues and let us know the progress on them each week, that way we wouldn't need to post the same issues each week, such as the attack again button being missing, the problems with the majors, etc.

I just wish Support would answer tickets in a more timely manner and instead of responding with a Generic Message, they should read what the problem is and if it is a simple fix, like missing items, they should take care of the problem then and there.

The majority of tickets would be solved quickly and there wont be any backlog or as much backlog if they did this...

One ticket was submitted May 4th and I was Detailed and Short and Simple... I told them I Cleared my Cache and even signed off and then signed on... After waiting almost a week for help, I get the Generic "Clear your Cache" reply.

I answered back and told them again that I Cleared my Cache and it did not work... Again, I waited almost a week and got another Clear your Cache response...

Now I am waiting again and it is really ridiculous to wait this long for help, Two Weeks now...

I also have two more tickets, about different issues and the same thing happened.

I did not send multiple tickets... I only responded to the tickets that I have opened. In all of my tickets I explain to them the situation and the steps I took before contacting Support.

In doing the Arcade Word game, the last token is not used but it gets taken away. I collected my 5 daily tokens, used four and it showed I had one left. I clicked to do the event again and it said I had no tokens. This happens every time.

I think that the change to no longer allow us to easily copy our glamed up avi will hurt Playdom in the long run. They introduce a new gala or something and we all come to the forum to see what the glam looks like on our avi... if we like it we buy the glam or try the gala.... many people will just pass it by if they can't get a look at the stuff on the avi. Nice job shooting yourself in the foot Playdom.

As for the "clear your cache" response, the people that interact here on the forum are NOT casual players. We love the game and spend lots of our free time and expendable cash $$$$ playing it. While the "clear your cache" "Might" :rolleyes: work for some problems, odds are that they will not fix the things that we are complaining about.... Know your audience.

I have noticed that in the Majors...

When you do "Get Course Readings" Which you can do 10 times each day, the course readings are not added.

It takes away your Stamina but does not give you the readings.

Thanks for explaining how we can post our avatars Aubrey. I appreciate it, as I'm sure many others do too. :)

As for the rest of the issues Krista and I have raised, these have NOT been fixed. My attack again button is still going missing. I still have no requests from any sisters. The rivals tab is still showing full avatars instead of just a head shot.
Do you really want me to submit a ticket to support? These issues are effecting all players and are game wide. If everyone who was effected each sent in a ticket then the support team would be overwhelmed with tickets. I don't mean to be rude, and I hope I don't come across as short, but shouldn't tickets be for individuals to report problems specific to their account? If there are game-wide problems effecting all players, shouldn't you the community manager notify the team instead of asking us to submit tickets about it?

Thanks for agreeing me, but I can't take credit for this idea. It has been suggested many times before and I can't remember who suggested it first. Whitney said she would make a known issues list but I think that was just before she left.

I recently submitted a ticket to support about an issue I've been having for several months now--I am unable to do on-campus events. They seem to get stuck on the loading phase and never fully load. I didn't bother reporting it earlier because I figured it was a temporary glitch and with the study abroads coming one after the other, I forgot about it because I was too busy with them to do campus events. But lately I went to go do some campus events and found that the issue is still there.

The first reply told me to clear my cache, but I had already done that with no results. I've tried playing on different computers and browsers, but the problem remains, meaning it's my SL account which is affected. The second reply I got basically said that "the team is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible" and they closed the ticket. This is a pretty big problem which impedes gameplay significantly, and clearly it's not affecting everyone, so it would be nice if they'd put a bit more effort into it than that.

To clarify, I am able to do the BP events (of course :rolleyes:), such as the 2BP gala or 16BP galas, but regular events get stuck and never load. Do you know anything about this/is there anything you can do to help? I'd really appreciate it.

I have another question. when you go to "my skills" to allocate your SPs it describes each skill, and for energy it says "Greater energy allows you to organize more social events and perform special attacks later in the game." What are these special attacks?

I'm not sure why that's changed, but I gotta assume it's some technicality thing. However, you can copy the image url when you right-click on your avatar in "My Style" if you're using Firefox or Chrome. From the sound of it, it looks like it might be best if you played SL on Firefox or Chrome. We don't get as many reports of issues from players using either of those browsers.
Although we understand that some browsers perform better than others, you have a lot of issues with IE, and that should not be so. Really, the interface ("GUI") of SL looks technically fairly simple, and it is very weird that you have so many problems with different browsers. My programming colleagues (im just an ICT consulatnt, not a programmer) have the idea that you have to many "if chrome do this, if IE do this if Safari <oops forgotten to implement> " cases, where NO browser "ifs" would probably work better...



Ok, I'll be sure to bring this one up to the team. But does this happen after clearing your cache and browser as well?
This (missing requests) happens to everyone with big house and lots of gifts (around 600, 650) in inbox. Than new requests don;t arrive.
Clearing cache is as a solution by you, the team, support used MUCH TO MUCH:
1) In 90% of cases it solves NOTHING
2) When correctly programmed clearing of cache is NOT really a necessary thing to do by players...
3) Since it is ALWAYS asked (and despite #1 & 2) SL players have the cleanest cache compared to any other gamers. Still many many issues persist...



I just wanted to let you know that I'm not ignoring this question. I'm waiting to hear back from the team on the date. Also, has this disappeared for anyone else?
Fighting streak at me is finally gone now. Hope it stays away forever. Is unfixbale, bad design and will always cause more trouble than fun. Although SL is a fighting game for a big part, this kind of fighting should be reserved for Mobsters, not SL...


It sounds like sending these list of issues with screenshots would be helpful to Support. I would recommend sending them a ticket. They should be able to sort this out for you.

But please read the last 7 weeks or half year of Wednesday threads, and you will see that ALL issues Krista brought up are being posted here, in dozens of other threads and in 100s of tickets already. Somehow PD responsibles seem deaf for really picking these up.... by solving them or giving a reasonable explanation why still not solved...or give some sort of a timeline / priority order when will be solved...

hmmmmm...maybe.....but I am not convinced yet...and many with me I dare to say.
For instance:
Tickets = feedback: Canned answers, REALLY PLEASE BELIEVE US: 90% of the answers CLEARLY show that the question is NOT properly read and understood...
For instance:
Many times is suggested that "creating things" and "to improve it" don't go to well together, surely not for SL/PD...a break in release of new features is very often suggested in exchange for a few weeks of updates with solving bugs and making the platform, the feed, the GUI etc more stable...
For instance: Why issues have to be repeated week after week here? Your audience is getting quite annoyed by issues staying open almost always too long....

I post most of my bonuses because most of them are then claimed by my sisters. I also claim my daily 10 bonuses each day so I do not think they are useless. I like posting my outfits and often sisters comment on them and I like seeing other people's outfits. I know we can see them on the avatar, but this way we can also see previous outfits whereas on the avatar we can only see the current outfit.

All of my Tickets were just answered... and again I received the "Clear your Cache" Generic Message again...

If you look back in the history of the messages, you can see where they told me to Clear my Cache earlier and then I responded by telling them I cleared my cache and it did not work... then the next message they send me is "Clear your Cache" again.

Why do you think this fighting should be reserved for mobsters? I disagree. SL is a female version of mobsters. Why can't we have the fighting streak? I do agree that it caused a lot of problems and I hope they fix it, but I do hope it is re-introduced.
When I started playing 2,5 years ago there was a MIX of players: Lurkers, Socializers, Fighters, Hunters etc. The balance seems to go more and more to fighters, and this winning streak was helping in that. So reason why I stated this not always popular view: The balance of the game, and that it was SO extremely buggy. Bugs can be fixed, but the concept had many not very well thought trough features. Which can in my humble opinion never be fully put straight...




I post most of my bonuses because most of them are then claimed by my sisters. I also claim my daily 10 bonuses each day so I do not think they are useless. I like posting my outfits and often sisters comment on them and I like seeing other people's outfits. I know we can see them on the avatar, but this way we can also see previous outfits whereas on the avatar we can only see the current outfit.
I DO post things. But not everything. Unattended work, if it is really worth smth, keepsake collection items if people still are begging for them, level ups... but so many dont mean a thing to me. Personal for a part. But to post smth were you get maybe a choco for when it is a unlimited gift? Or a Blue Tea (Get 1 stamina back next time you Pitch In!) when, again, choco's are free? Come on.... This time my sisters know me a bit. Other SA I had to threaten a few to boot them if they did not stop posting 50 useless items per day on my wall....
And yes I pick up daily either smoothies, candy or some really needed event related stuff. but NEVER anything else, never a blue potion, a blue tea and many others...

Part of my putting it out here is also intended to make players think a bit more with some common sense about pop-ups and posts... as well for players..as for "the team..."

If Playdom KNEW their audience the number of active daily/weekly/monthly users would be at an all time high and not a fraction of the all time high and if YOU knew YOUR audience you would NEVER tell us to clear our cache or to open a problem with support for things that have been broken for ALL of us for MONTHS and that have been reported here on the forum to Whitney.

Here is a direct and specific question that I would like directly and specifically answered........

If you go to Sydney and select "shopping" there are 4 items (2 outfits under "cocktail", 1 outfit under "casual", and 1 pair of shoes) that all say "WIN THIS FROM THE SYDNEY FORTUNE WHEEL!" except they are not available from the Sydney Fortune Wheel. What is the plan for these items? Why tell us that we can get them on the fortune wheel and then not put them on the wheel. Given that the only way to see what is on the wheel is to spend 2 BPs, don't you feel like this is false advertising? People go to the wheel expecting these items to be some of the available prizes and they are not but they don't find out till you have already taken their 2 BPs. How is that FAIR?

A new one just popped up and it's over a frickin' US holiday weekend! Are you all just being selective in the feedback you listen to? I haven't seen a single post on here celebrating the 5 day gifting being moved to Fri to Tues. In fact with every new 5 day gifting there's several players (myself included) who bemoan the fact that it is once again stuck running over the weekend. It has been stated loud and clear here on the forums that players want the 5 day gifting back on Mon to Fri. Playdom is not listening to us very well. Actions speak louder than words.

I totally agree with you. When I saw the new collection, instead of being excited, I was like REALLY.....its a HOLIDAY weekend!!!
I understand the association with the holiday, but why not start it on Monday thru Friday BEFORE the holiday weekend?????

Why don't they go back to just giving us a nice free holiday related wall bonus or gift to send out to sisters like they used to? Oh I forgot, there was no potential for money to be earned in that like there is for those that actually end up buying missed pieces of the 5 day events. I bet you they are going to be raking in the money from people using their BPs to collect missing 5 day pieces on a nice long holiday weekend, BIG score for PD, a loss for many players but then what do we matter?

Yeah i have to admit I am a quite annoyed that they would have a 5 day over a holiday weekend, but Im not surprised seeing how they had a 5 day over mother's day weekend.

is this going to be the norm PD? To release 5 days over holidays just so you can be assured that people will spend money trying for the items they missed?

I don't seem to be getting requests at all.
I used to have dozens of philanthropy requests and now for the last week nothing. If I do get one, two at most, they disappear before I get to the character I want to accept on.
I find it hard to believe no one is asking for help.

When my gift counter totals around 700, I have no requests and new gifts DO appear (push out old ones) but phil. request never arrive.
When i switch 5 avi's fast in MY morning (meaning they are not swiftly returned since Americans are than still sleeping) and my gifts go down to around 400... than NEW requests do arrive...till my gifts are up to 700 again....

Complained about by many in feed. I guess some of many complainers even filed tickets, and is mentioned on forum also several times... but well...

Collect Blank Canvases as gifts, get Bunches of Paintbrushes from your sisters' newsfeeds to play! Bunch of Paintbrushes are not available in news feed now. There is a requesting button, but it doesn't work for months. Can you explain how to get Bunch of Paintbrushes please?
