We are currently working with Myspace to try to resolve this issue. Unfortunately, I think it will take a bit longer before we know what we need to fix.

Yea, there is a thread in the Study Abroads and in the Bugs & Tech area...everyone is getting this. My daughter used all 10 of her collections today for those just to check and yup they are all BW. :(

That should be one simple debug session to figure out that somewhere the Bollywood IDs have not been replace by Sydney IDs......

Since the arrival of the message center DAY 5 collections have to be SEND every day (that is normal) and have to be received/picked up on the same day.
That last part is insane.
It should be as before: you're ina good house, most sisters send to all players one, so if you missed one day because of Real Life (it really, really DOES exist somewhere out there...) you still should be able to pick it up from MC.

So: expire as normal gifts after 14 days, but can only be send from gift page or returned on the actual day.

Before this and the previous 5 day collection you could still pick them up from FB games request page. A nuisance to do it like that (especially if you receive 5x as many gifts as that you can pick up daily, so that you have to delete 100s before they appear...), but it worked till days after the collection was not in grab bag anymore.
But this and previous collection it works ONLY till day 5. So a missed day 2 / 3 / 4 can be still picked up before or ON day 5.

I agree. I would much rather see the 5 days go back to the original method as they were before. I have missed out on 5 days because I do not have 10 hours a day to sit and play SL, much to your guys chagrin, and while there MAY be players out there that have that kind of time, many DO NOT and it is a really unfair expectation on PD's behalf to assume that players can come on once every ten hours to mini hop and collect these 5 day gifts. I really think changing the method that does not benefit us in anyway is frutile, because WE pay for this game. If we aren't happy, people WILL and have left. I really do not think that is what PD wants to happen. So why change things that make it MORE difficult for us to play? I mean we already have to deal with all these OTHER glitches that still have yet to be resolved, why do more harm than good?

Also, I speak for many players that we would like to see that the 5 days be returned to the Monday through friday schedule and that they do not overlap with SA's.

Facebook SL players get way more glam than myspace players -- and that's not even mentioning the fact that facebook got Paris as an SA and myspace never got it. There is all kinds of glam available to facebook players in their "feeds"; myspace doesn't have feeds nor walls.

Please, I want an answer and a resolution to this because it's really not fair that facebook SL gets all of these extra goodies when myspace SL was around before them. Stop treating myspace SL players like an after-thought. :mad:

Was a change to the gift center made? It seems that it only "holds" 100 gifts besides the requests.

I collect/return some and when I refresh it will show 100 again. Usually by now I would have close to 500 gifts, especially since I sent out cafes, chocolate bars, lipsticks, milk teas and tickets to each sister a little while ago.

Well, now I'm maxed on espressos and milk teas, I can't collect any more today -- but I still need tickets. I can't get any tickets, though, because my box is full of energy swag. Am I just supposed to delete everything until enough of what I need appears?

OMG! That is TERRIBLE!!!! I could log into 150-300. This just start?

This is what a sister says: "Gift center is capping at 100 gifts. Once you collect some, it'll fill it back up to 100 when you refresh, but once it's at 100 - - you can only choose from the 100 there. So, if you've collected all your energy, but still need something else, it isn't gonna show up unless you delete that [stuff]". That's insane, PD.

Yes, Playdom please rethink this if this is an intentional change.
I had 100 gifts, collected them all on this character. Had to refresh to finish collecting, collected 14 gifts, leaving 86 gifts that I was maxed on. Had to refresh again, to get a couple tickets. At this rate I will never get to max on tickets for the day.
HORRIBLE idea!! :(


This totally sucks!

Took me the better part of my hour on this mini just trying to get all her daily tickets. Which I did NOT since all that is showing is milk tea, cafe's and pink gems of which I am already maxed on.
If this stays like this I will be giving up the minis.


EDIT: ok, seems that if you leave the page or refresh it and check again different gifts may show randomly. Still not ideal.

Well, at least for some of you, you are seeing 100 gifts in your inbox. I know I have more than that in my FB request page but I'm only seeing 43 in SL inbox. No matter how many times I refresh the number stay the same. However, when I try to delete to make more room for other items; the max that I could have in my SL inbox gets smaller and smaller. When this mess started, my inbox had max of 75 now it's down to 43. You can't really do much with 43 gifts and once you collected max for the day for the items in the inbox; I'm completely screwed!

Yes, the gifts are definitely messed up. I have 3 SSs I will fix & upload soon. What I see is that the FB Gift Reqs show NO gifts. I accept ALL gifts in my Gift Center (which this a.m. was 63, not 100), BUT...when I refresh, I get trickles of 1-5 gifts at a time, all from YESTERDAY'S date. In other words, not even those sent yesterday are showing in my Gift Center when they SHOULD be. I have to refresh/collect and refresh/collect and refresh/collect. Strange thing is that NO SL gifts are appearing in my FB Gift Reqs page...??

El Guapo, this is definitely an overarching issue for many, obviously. All I am seeing in groups & feed is gift center complaints. For the record, yes, I have cleared cache, and I use Google Chrome.

OK, so I have 6 SSs (going to post 4 at the moment; and I may edit to make sure this all flows correctly). This will be LONG, and I am sorry (it took a LONG time for me to make). But I feel it important for you see what we are seeing so you can help identify the problem. I am seeing a HUGE, HUGE LAG in the gift system. And don't dare tell us we broke the system...

Once I collected all the gifts I had & had refreshed 2 or 3 times, I decided to check FB Apps and Games page (a.k.a. Gift Reqs page). You can see there are NO SL gifts in Queue (however, when I click refresh in-game, more appear):

I had that very same issue, and after Whitney had "the team" look into it, their solution was to create a brand new Playdom.com account using the same email addy but different username and pw. So I did and I have that box now. Just FYI to you.

Also, El Guapo, some are seeing some weird gift auto-collect happening...I posted a SS here:

My max number of gifts dropped to around 90 yesterday and this morning it dropped down to 49. I think that the max # of gifts is being set based on the current number of gifts in the queue and as I clear out gifts the number keep dropping. I'm pretty sure that this is what's happening because I tried deleting gifts that I can not receive because I am maxed out on them (espresso, tickets, etc.) to see if new ones would show up in the queue and now my max number of gifts is down to 28. It looks like the more gifts that you receive or delete the lower your max number of gifts gets!!!! what are you doing?!?!?!?!?!? .......... and right before the weekend too so you KNOW that they are not going to do anything about fixing it :mad:

Sadly, that's my fear as well. Oh well. More time for RL stuff. Yes, all, I came back since I heard many were getting their boarders back, slowly but surely, and for the Arbor 5-Day (I wanted that plant!) but am only working 2 avis in full. I'm not spending near as much time as I used to. Made my status "Embrace the Glitch-a-rama" just to remind myself to take the game less serious and be blase about the glitches. It wouldn't be PD w/o glitches! ;)

But yes, I am hoping that we hear from El Guapo re these issues before the day is out to see if there will be a fix over the weekend.

And yes, I see the same re the lowering amounts. Even sending/receiving from my daughter's account, I can clearly see that there is either a lag, or they are lowering what you can get. Why? I don't know. Hoping it's a glitch and not a permanent feature.

I have SSs again, which I will post soon. But yea, I logged back in, had a smaller amount, opened up another tab (which I generally don't do, I was just checking something), and VOILA! Over 200! Some from May 1st. I SS'd the 1st tab & the 2nd, then collected from the bottom up until I maxed on everything & cleared those unlimited gifts. Took another SS as I was at over 100, refreshed, and YANK! They took those away down to like 30ish. Something WEIRD is going on!!!

Actually, with the fighting winning streak feature, instead of finding someone that would normally TD you, try to go to burn list and look for riders to TD off. This way you don't lose your winning streak.

Yea but it used to not be that way. In BW is was, but in all other ones I believe there was a reward. I could be wrong though. Guess they changed it. Strange though that they would have ONE goal on ONE event on ONE tab not have any reward...makes no sense. But then again, what do I know? ;)

Honey, I am not trying to be sarcastic, but you answered your own question already... Playdom CAN'T make things equal between the 2 because of vital differences in the two social networks. The absence of feed posts and wall posts is the root of the problem, and you would have to persuade MySpace to change that-- this is UNFORTUNATE for MySpace players, but there is a solution-- create a facebook account and play on that one!
When I first started playing SL it was through MySpace, I did not even have a FB account, but quickly saw how much more the game could offer through Facebook's format, and have played exclusively on FB for almost 3 years. SL is also available through "Tagged" - some of my friends play through that social network, but I have never done so.

Then 5 pages of some really major problems with NOT ONE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OR RESPONSE- gee this seems awfully familar... Those suggesting new names for this thread, I have an idea, how about this, "IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THE FORUM IS CALLED CAUSE NO ONE IS LISTENING TO OUR COMPLAINTS" or "CUSTOMER UN-APPRECIATION CENTER"??

And FYI, the issues players have been having with SL - on ALL of the social networks, have been in existence for almost a solid year now - AT LEAST! The forums have been flooded with posts about them, I can't even begin to imagine the volume of support tickets that have been sent in, and the same exact problems go on without end. LET ME SAY THIS ONCE AGAIN - ALMOST A SOLID YEAR! How long does it take to get to the heart of the problem? The entire game code could have been dissected, reassembled and bench tested several times and yet ya'll are "still searching for the root cause"???
Let me speed things up for you, THE ROOT CAUSE IS IN LAZY PROGRAMMERS WHO HAVE PUT PATCH ON TOP OF PATCH ON TOP OF PATCH INSTEAD OF CORRECTING THE ORIGINAL CODE. I really wonder how you guys stay in business when you don't communicate with your consumers. I mean, earlier tonight the win streak said 5 days.. now that its a half hour to reset, its now ending at reset.

The new rival set up is really unwarranted. We don't need to see the av of the other player in our rival list and I really would like 'the team' unfix what isn't broken.

But Abby, if they were to STOP fixing what isn't broken, they might actually have to fix some of the stuff that IS!! And goodness, we can't have that, now can we??
I am so aggravated when I look at the amount of time we have dealt with the gifting issues, jumping screen issues, inability to complete collections because Playdom snatches the final event away days before the scheduled end, etc... (we all know I could go on ALL NIGHT with these unresolved issues) it has been almost a SOLID YEAR with NO resolution on ANY OF THESE ISSUES!! Yet as soon as one SA ends, another lame one is there to take it's place (again with all the same bugs & glitches), and by George if the casino starts awarding massive amounts of bp's to players in the dead of night on a weekend, you better believe THAT will be fixed before daylight & they will be wanting their "money" (aka Brownie Points) back & they will TAKE THEM BACK IN A HEARTBEAT!

I completely agree with everything you said. COMPLETELY.

I understand its hard to fix a company, but the fact of the matter is, PD needs a serious overhaul from the ground up. And they need to get programmers in there that KNOW just what they are doing, rebuild the game code from scratch and launch a new app. I know that it takes time and money, but man, the possibilities of what that could do to gain back players is definitely worth it.

While I RARELY used that tab in the last year, I agree that this set up was a stupid, unwarranted waste of time for the programmers. WE DO NOT LIKE IT. Any word on the reason behind the attack button disappearing? There are more times than I can count that it just randomly disappears and the toon has not been sent to the spa. I'd really like to see that fixed as its been mentioned FOR MONTHS.

Sorry but I wanted to spend the day with my family, not 8+ hrs to accept a gift for this game.

Completely agree. I had exams today so I couldn't go home to visit my mom, but that would have definitely taken priority over a 5 day gifting. Expecting players to log on during a family-oriented holiday is a bit ridiculous, in my opinion.

I think they should change it back to Monday to Friday and make it so the gifts can be accepted ANY time as long as they are sent on the correct day. They could make them non-returnable to stop them being passed back and forth.
Also I want to point out Mother's Day in the UK was in March.

I agree. I don't see any reason why this change was made, and I don't believe there was any real explanation as to it was to help those who work during the week. Well, you wouldn't have to do that if the gifts didn't expire in 24 hours. As long as they aren't sitting there with no expiration, I don't see the problem with allow like a 14 day window or whatever it was originally.

I tried to copy my av from my profile and when I couldn't I thought it was mistake. I'd really like to get an explanation as to why this change was made, because a lot of us like to show off our av's. How can we do that with ease if we can't copy the image url?

Yea but it used to not be that way. In BW is was, but in all other ones I believe there was a reward. I could be wrong though. Guess they changed it. Strange though that they would have ONE goal on ONE event on ONE tab not have any reward...makes no sense. But then again, what do I know? ;)

We used 2 also get a boarder on the 5th tab & that also stopped so I guess PD can take away here & there until they give us nothing but some glam with low stats & we will stop doing the SAs at all. When 1st started playing (just b4 Rio) we were getting 5 boarders: 1 on the 3rd, 3 on the 4th & 1 on the 5th tabs if I remember right & also more BPs & SPs

I think they want 2 give us as little as they possibly can & still keep us playing =(

SL on MySpace has been totally down since around 2:00 am (10 hours now) with no notice of what is going on so players have no idea if they are trying to fix glitches of if they have totally pulled the app. We have not been able 2 send gifts or invites for 4 weeks now (We didn't get a gifting center like FB did). MySpace has said the problem is Playdom's and Playdom has said MySpace has 2 fix certain things before PD can do anything so here we sit just wondering if we even still have a game to play. So not having a pop-up on the first event on the 5th tab? No biggie.

Honey, I am not trying to be sarcastic, but you answered your own question already... Playdom CAN'T make things equal between the 2 because of vital differences in the two social networks. The absence of feed posts and wall posts is the root of the problem, and you would have to persuade MySpace to change that-- this is UNFORTUNATE for MySpace players, but there is a solution-- create a facebook account and play on that one!
When I first started playing SL it was through MySpace, I did not even have a FB account, but quickly saw how much more the game could offer through Facebook's format, and have played exclusively on FB for almost 3 years. SL is also available through "Tagged" - some of my friends play through that social network, but I have never done so.

Playdom did make 50 Ferry Tickets available to MySpace players through a pop-up (which I am very grateful for) so other items could be made available also if they cared about MS players. As far as going to FB to play there is no way due to FB privacy issues. I had my real name & picture show up as an ad on another website bc I posted a link on FB. Never had that happen on MS. So I will have to give up SL completely if FB becomes my only option.

Would be nice if PD could host the game on their own website & move our accounts intact to that. Then all the problems would be on PD and they couldn't put the blame off on some else's "platform" which seems to be their standard answer.

It has slowly declined over the years, BUT especially more so in the last 12-18 months? It was going down hill LONG before it was sold to Disney. If anything, I had high hopes that with the Disney dollars it would have had an overhaul and gotten better, but I was terribly mistaking..

Yes I was hoping once it had been bought by Disney that the customer service would improve but I haven't seen an difference yet except for the survey asking for our feedback.

I also think that everyone is WAY off base as to the reason that the win streak was taken away.... not because people whined about getting attacked but because people were using their minis to get borders..... how would they ever get anyone to pay for borders again if all they have to do is use their unlimited supply of chocolate bars and lipsticks to get 100 per day per mini.... people were maxing out on borders for free so they had to stop that.

I think the boarders could be replaced with a different reward and the fight streak could return. I like the boarders as a reward but I don't like loosing my own boarders so I was avoiding the winning streak after getting my boarders back.

I believe Playdom had already been purchased by Disney when I started playing. Prior to Jan 2011 I only have to go on what people have told me. How great the game was. They were still enjoying it enough to encourage me to play, so I did.

I really enjoyed it in the beginning. Rio (my first SA) was a blast! Customer service responded to support tickets within they 72 hour window, usually within the first 24 hours. Things got fixed!!! I don't know how they respond to FB players now but on MS it can take 3 weeks b4 a ticket is even looked at & then they close them without responding. We have not been able to send gifts or any kind of invite (Phil or house) since April 16th; well before the current SA started.

You seem to agree with me that SL has continued downhill since Disney bought Playdom. Since I wasn't playing at that time, I can only go with my experience so I shall restate it: SL has gone steadily downhill from a game I enjoyed when I first started playing to a broken mess that is losing players every day on MS (no clue about FB since I would not consider playing on that platform). I believe that my experience with the game has all been since Disney purchased Playdom.

Well, honey, I don't mean to be rude, but Playdom CAN do things to level things out between the two platforms.

Facebook has feeds and myspace doesn't; so myspace should get a little socializing event that essentially gives out the glam that facebook feeds provide -- SIMPLE RESOLUTION.

I have been playing SL on myspace SINCE THE GAME BEGAN (a year and a half BEFORE you ever started dressing up your doll and hitting up the fight list) and have pumped money into for just as long so I would NEVER just "create a facebook account and play on that one!" Your "suggestion" that leaving behind years of work and money on myspace as a solution is ridiculous and insulting.

Don't be dim; That would be like me buying a new house and then abandoning it to live in an apartment.

The issue is that myspace SL players were here FIRST and we're being treated like crap and NOTHING any of you facebook or tagged players say is going to fix things because you haven't been treated like we have. If the situation was reversed, you'd be just as angry and you'd be making just as much noise about it.
